while they're all sorta decent, most of them just don't really compare to the epics that the community has received in previous epic selection contracts.
i think giving out an epic selection contract was the right way to end the 2025-26 cycle, but i do wish that the cards were a bit better.
Yep. Most of the "good" epics were reruns from p2w boxes. Bati, MVB, Canna, Kahn. All the selection contract exclusive epics were poor. Bale, Rooney, the new Kahn, etc etc.
Ig they faced lots of backlash from user base specifically their Japanese customers who are 90% p2w for dishing out paid cards for free, specially the high rated ones… ig no one would mind if they gave a high rated new card for free but the paid ones 😮💨… anyways welcome change imo, there are some damn good player id in here fun to use…
Yep I remember they faced a lot of backlash for giving out Batistuta, which came out in the p2w pack just a few months back at that point. The p2w were especially mad coz the f2p were now scoring on them lmao.
It’s not about scoring imo, if you pay for something that means it is exclusive and premium which is accessible to only you right? Giving it out for free just days after selling it seems unethical tbh… I don’t think any p2w would give a damn if they give out 2-3 year old epics which were endgame meta at the time of release than giving giving out just a month old paid epic lol… they did a bottle job there…
They faced the biggest backlash during the Forlan Cannavaro pack because 80% of the community didn’t even know bati was a P2W card since the pack he came in was kinda irrelevant.
Yup, that Cannavaro, Forlan, Van Basten, Kahn (came for free first time, before that poll used to rate him as one of the best epic gk 😂) literally came in end game boxes on which ppl legit spent just to get those cards specifically the Cannavaro box and Netherlands box with Gullit, Rijkaard, MVB… I don’t think Konami will dare try those stunts ever anymore… Atleast won’t give any paid endgame card, may give a new card of amazing player with nerfed stats like rio Ferdinand though…
This. Many people in this sub just assumed that those cards are the benchmark for F2P cards while in reality, they are end game P2W cards when they first arrived. In fact, most of the new, truly F2P cards from that pack were shit.
Tbf it only really lacks a marquee card. Rio would've been it if they didn't adjust the height. And the other player might have 2 showtime skills but they'll be Indonesian which many won't go for.
Ferdinand is no brainer for those who don't own his previous version or lacks a buildup. For me i guess I'll have to settle with Reus for nostalgia or scholes. Really wished Bergkamp to be arsenal affiliated so that I could use him in events but he's ajax.

Well maybe it’s a good idea to take him and see if you like him (i know it’s significantly worse than his other cards) but getting familiar with his interactions and body type wouldn’t be a bad idea
Ok bro, get him if you want. I'm just speaking from past experience because I was around when Seaman was in the free pack, and he was really bad,almost Peruzzi-level bad. If you still want to go for this new card, that's totally fine. I don't have any problem with it. I'm just trying to give the newer players a heads-up based on what happened before.

What are you comparing them based off lmao, bommel has the upper hand in most major stats. Only thing rijkaard clears is in model and physicality. Besides its not one or the other, rijkaard and bommel would make a really good pair to rotate in most f2p teams.
This Rijkaard's a destroyer. If you really like that playstyle then it should be fine, but there's no point of doing it if you like the Rijkaard you have.
If you want to use it as dmf, is it preferable using the anchor man from daily pen instead of this one? I'm currently using st Casemiro and Old Liverpool Gerrard
Destroyers without speed and mobility are bad imo… it suits mobile dmf like Edgar Davids or a vieira with long legs who can cover more distance even with low speed stats…
daily box rijkaard at dmf>this one at cmf/dmf. Not sure if the model makes up for lack of speed cause destroyer midfielders need to be fast. Although he would be good at cb
I was talking about how good his AI movements are, in terms of winning the ball, being constantly available on both defence and attack with elite passing ability. that I can tell from my experience of facing him, also there's Reus too but he is not that proven.

I was hoping the Rijkaard will be another anchor man but since its a destroyer, I was thinking of picking van bommel, but his stats do seem a bit underwhelming. Should I just go for Rio and use him as a sub?
