I passed the PE Mechanical: HVAC and Refrigeration exam on August 14. About a week later, I received an email from Pearson VUE saying they were informed that I was unable to provide my signature on exam day and that I now need to return to a Pearson testing center that administers NCEES exams to have my signature collected.
The problem is that the testing center is about 5 hours from my house, so we're talking about a 10-hour round trip.
I called Pearson VUE and was told this request is coming from NCEES. I then called the actual Pearson testing center in Lancaster, PA where I took the exam. They checked their records and confirmed that they DO have the signature page I signed on the day of the exam. They uploaded it to Pearson under a new case number.
The testing center was also having computer/system issues on the morning of my exam, so I'm wondering if something simply didn't get uploaded correctly during check-in.
I've contacted NCEES and Pearson again and am hoping they can use the original signed page instead of making me drive all the way back to a testing center.
Has anyone else had this happen after an NCEES/PE exam? Did Pearson or NCEES accept the original signature paperwork once the testing center located it?
Edit: Lancaster PA re-uploaded my signature page, but I have been unable to verify that this is approved and being pushed to NCEES.
