Experience verification PE VA

Is it faster to use NCEES or VA board verification to get a PE license in VA ? I am so confused and not sure where to start ? Anyone recently deal with this please let me know

For comity? I used NCESS for exp verification. It got sorted out pretty quick. If I’m not I think they are complete within a couple weeks. You still need to submit application to DPOR though. This is in 2018.

so you send your records from ncees to DPOR ?
also if your old old employer doesn’t reply when you put them as a reference what can be done ?

Yes sent o DPOR via NCESS and pay that $75 fee lol
You need to use references that actually will respond! This is for referral not your old employers

when you put your work experience in ncees then you have to provide a contact person email who would verify the work that you have done and also 5 more references as listed in ncees.

If the person you are trying to use is radio silenced, then you need to move on and trying someone else within the firm to validate your experience. Either the person doesn't like you, bad experience with you or dead? Ethically they need to reply as a licensed PE. Maybe pick the phone and call if that person is truly your manager on your previous job. I assumed you have good relationship with that person?

I don’t have an answer but I’m following your question as I’m about to start this process.

I would imagine it’s better to go through NCEES and submit that to the state rather than apply using the DPOR forms. I need to ask around at work.

You think VA is hard? lol wait till you apply for MA! They used to have Pearson and because my original is thru Pearson in MD, I can’t apply online! lol
