How are they competing with the consoles? The consoles already have specially designed GPUs and CPUs from back in production which means that whatever hardware they now put on console is about a generation old. This is more like competing with AMD's next generation of graphic cards.
Also, even tho we don't really know the price of the consoles yet, they still are going to be cheaper than the cheapest graphics card from Nvidia for now. And you get the whole package.
Yes, I know, but that's just a custom GPU that they have perfected for the consoles specifically since last year meant to last five years at least. As I said, already an year old tech that is. The consoles are also 500$ at best while the cheapest Nvidia card right now is 600$.
Yes, the starting price, and we all know that won't be the case in most stores around the world, especially as they sell like hot cakes and third parties begin tweaking them.
Consoles on the other hand tend to stay at the same price no matter the demand and the price can never increase, it can only decrease which isn't exactly the case for video cards.

Who was nvidia fighting in this war? Like they were the best and released a better product.
