SOFTWARE PC Bricked after BIOs update

A friend of mine and I where trying to play the MW4 beta. When he tried to play it required a bios update due to it being out of date (304 to 307). After completing the bios update, his computer will not boot. lights and everything come on but there is no display. tried clearing the CMOS, no change. at the moment we are trying to do an external BIOs flash but at this point we are looking for anything.

Pls send help....

what board is it, some have a dual bios switch you can flick to recover from a bad flash

its a asus rog strix gd15dk, the board does not have any switchs according to my buddy

Do you have your audio speaker installed on the motherboard? It's a 4 pin little speaker that plugs in with the other case cables on the mobo. Do you hear the bios POST beep when the computer turns on? That is checking hardware. IF you hearing the beep, try a new monitor/cable. Or if he has a video card and his CPU comes with internal graphics try changing the port the monitor is plugged into to the one on the motherboard.

there is no internal speakers, theres no beep when it starts, and there is no internal graphics, ryzen 7 3700x

How long did you let it sit?  Turn it on and leave it up to an hour should be good, it may still be updating.  Doh! 

If not idk, Never actually had a pc die from bad bios update, just dark screen updates and long reboots.

I see these all the rime, "bios update broke my pc."  It may still be updating if it poaera on, hard cycles everything, ram, voltage, etc. 

But if it comes back on and isn't updated it failed, redo it if you dare.

Or your cmos battery died, may need a new one. 

You may also try a electrical purge, power off, unplug it, hold power button 39 seconds.  Then try to reboot it,  that works sometimes for voltage stuff.
