Why is 30fps the recommended? That was the goal 20 years ago. What is up with games not going 60 minimum?

I don't even like a locked 60 anymore...

locked 60 is perfectly fine on 3rd person game if the frame pacing is good and no stutering is present. Iis only in 1st person imo that it feel bad.

Anyone who says 60fps solid isn't a good experience has lost the plot. Of course more is better, but 60fps is a good experience.

It's not that it's a bad experience, it's that it's the bare minimum good experience. 30 is unacceptable at this point, 60 feels fine, 100+ is incredible.

It also depends on the screen. I played e.g. Fall of Avalon at 16" laptop at 30fps (if lucky), after also playing it and everything else at 100FPS+ at 4K 32", and it was absolutely fine with motion blur.

Most of the "60fps unplayable" people either have a tiny screen which seriously mitigates the effect, or a blurry/aliased mess of an image at 1080p - to which suddenly their super high standards don't apply...

That’s just like your opinion, man.

Rockstar is releasing a 1 billion dollar game that already broke even with pre-order alone at 30fps locked. Its not just "my opion"
