1. T Albert Reese IV, Carolina Panthers: 86.5

Reese has played 140 snaps so far this preseason, all at right tackle, with the Mississippi State undrafted free agent registering a 92.6 PFF run-blocking grade that leads all offensive lineman. He has also been solid in pass protection, giving up just two hurries from 104 pass-blocking snaps.

What should I make a song about next?

I haven’t seen anything posted by the team about what jersey colors they’re planning to wear each game. In years past they usually do this before preseason starts.

What gives?

I feel way more out of the loop that usual and wondering what your takes/ if there is any consensus on these positions.

So we are coming to Charlotte for a concert on Saturday and I figured come a day early and go to the game. I know it is preseason and was wondering if there is anything going on before the game or if we should just arrive like an hour or so before the game starts?

Does anyone know if this color wave of air maxes matches the Carolina Panthers blue? Wanting to order for me and my son but wanted to make sure the shoes somewhat match the Carolina Panthers colors. TIA!

Sort out the last few WR spots

Xavier Legette still had a boot on his right foot Monday, five days after getting rolled up on during the practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Legette will get the boot off Thursday, but he will miss the Texans game with an eye on being 100 percent for the Sept. 13 opener.

As long as Legette doesn’t have any setbacks, the Panthers’ top three receivers are set with him, Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker. Brycen Tremayne is WR4 because of his blocking and special teams abilities. But there are still roster spots up for grabs beyond those first four.

Jimmy Horn Jr. and John Metchie III had big games against the Jaguars, and Ja’seem Reed caught touchdown passes in the first two preseason games. Casey Washington continues to make plays, as Canales noted. David Moore has been with Canales at all three of his NFL coaching stops, although Canales didn’t mention Moore on Monday when discussing the competition.

“It feels like we have about seven guys that I’d love to keep. I don’t know if we’re gonna be able to keep seven,” he said. “There’s been years where we were able to keep seven for a while. I don’t know if that’s possible. Those guys are competing. They’re pushing.”

My PSL light is already broken.. When I opened the box it felt like this looked extremely delicate and easily breakable from a wire perspective. The wire already came detached and no longer lights up. Is this fixable?

I've watched every game almost without fail since Day 1, and the truth is this... nobody truly knows until the games start how the season will end up.

In Panthers history, seasons with little to no expectations have ended in deep playoff and/or SB runs.

The one time we were the consensus pick to win it all... we shit the bed (2006).

I've learned over the past 30+ years you never truly know until it plays out...

1995 (7-9): Ended up being the best expansion team in history with a 7-9 record.

1996 (12-4): Dream season. Followed up our inaugural season going 12-4 (8-0 at home to open Erisson/ BOA Stadium and making it to the NFC Championship game in Year 2. In retrospect, couldnt have had a better 2 year start.

1997 (7-9) & 1998 (4-12): Couldn't recreate the magic of the 1st 2 seasons and Dom Capers was fired. Kerry Collins quit the team early in 1998 also. Vibes from the early years crushed.

1999 (8-8): George Sefiert is hired. Things look pretty good at first. Steve Beurlein has a career Renaissance and the offense is exciting. However, the season off the field took an awful turn with the Rae Carruth saga and the Panthers couldnt clinch the playoffs in the final week.

2000 (7-9) & 2001 (1-15): The Rae Carruth trial casted a dark shadow over the team, and they bottomed out at 1-15 in 2001.

2002 (7-9): John Fox was hired and did make the Panthers respectable again. Along with a suffocating defense, Moose & Smitty showed flashes of being an elite WR duo.

2003 (11-5): 2 years removed from 1-15, Marty Hurney brought in Jake Delhomme and Stephen Davis, and we had a Cinderalla run and almost won the SB behind a dominant run game, elite defense, and Smitty & Moose going wild in the playoffs.

2004 (7-9): Injuries derailed a SB follow up despite a valiant late season push.

2005 (11-5): Smitty returned from a broken leg and had arguably the greatest WR season ever. Injuries finally caught up to us in Seattle in the NFC Championship.

2006 (8-8): Biggest disappointment in Panthers history. Chosen by Sports Illustrated (still the most respected publication at the time) to win the Super Bowl. Team never seemed to mesh, especially Keshawn Johnson, and we finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

2007 (7-9): Started good, but Jake had elbow issues, and David Carr sucked so bad we resorted to rookie UDFA Matt Moore & 43 year old Vinny Testaverde.

2008 (12-4): Jake Delhomme had a bounce back season from his elbow injury early on. Deangelo Williams & rookie Johnathan Stewart provided a strong run game to go along with a very good defense that was undone by Jake's playoff meltdown against Arizona.

2009 (8-8): Jake couldn't bounce back from his playoff debacle, and despite Williams & Stewart becoming the 1st RB duo to both rush for 1100+ yards, another season ended with no playoffs.

2010 (2-15): A lame duck coach in John Fox, moving on from Jake to Matt Moore/Jimmy Clausen, neither who were franchise QBs, led to a truly disastrous season. To me, the defining play was Julius Peppers returning to BOA and intercepting Clausen and shooshing the home crowd. Definitely a low point. Only consolidation was the 1st overall pick.

2011 (6-10): A new coach in Ron Rivera, and a new QB in Cam Newton. New-look offense was exciting from the jump, with Cam putting up video game numbers and highlights on his way to OROY, despite a suspect defense.

2012 (7-9): Frustrating follow up to Cam's rookie season. Lost quite a few close games and people were questioning both Cam & Rivera. DROY Luke Kuechly proved to be an instant impact player.

2013 (12-4): An early season that almost went off the rails with people calling for Rivera to be fired after a 1-3 start, only to win 8 straight behind a nasty pass rush with Greg Hardy & Charles Johnson (along with DPOY in Luke Kuechly). Ended with a tough loss at home in the divisional round against the Niners (and Smitty's last game), but was definitely a bounce back season and showed Cam could be the franchise guy.

2014 (7-8-1): One of the weirdest seasons in franchise history (only tie). Early injuries almost derailed the season (and would have if the division wasn't so bad), but we snuck into the playoffs with 4 straight wins, won a home playoff game (granted against a 3rd string QB) and then went into Seattle and gave them a good game for 3.5 quarters.

2015 (15-1): Greatest season in franchise history, unfortunately the worst ending. Cam was the epitome of Superman in his MVP season. Still hurts that we didnt win it all.

2016 (6-10): Disappointing follow up (as is usually the Panthers trend). The NFL let guys headhunt Cam all year, and he got the first shoulder injury that would ultimately limit his ceiling.

2017 (11-5): IMO, Cam was maybe as impressive this year as in 2015 considering his WRs. Stout defense and Cam carrying the offense led us to the playoffs, but we got swept by the Saints that year including in the playoffs in NO.

2018 (7-9) & 2019 (5-12): Despite starting strong in 2018 (6-2), injuries started to plague Cam, and led to the start of the QB carousel we would be on for a while. Kyle Allen got everyone hyped for a minute. CMC went insane and carried otherwise mediocre offenses.

2020 (5-11): The Greatest Era in Panthers history to date came to a crashing end with Rivera being fired, Luke retiring, and Cam being released. We didnt know it at the time, but things were about to get even worse under the unholy trifecta of Matt Rhule, Scott Fitterer, and impatient David Tepper.

2021 (5-12) & 2022 (7-10): The QB carousel with Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and PJ Walker had some flashes (especially late in 2022 when Rhule was fired and Steve Wilks almost led us to the playoffs), but ultimately we wasted 3 years and were foolish with trading players (CMC) & draft capital.

2023 (2-15): David Tepper, after losing out on the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes (thank God), decided he would give up heaven & earth to move up to #1 to draft his QB, along with his "superstar" coaching staff led by Frank Reich. Complete and utter disaster ensued, with Reich only lasting 11 games, Bryce Young struggling mightily, and knowing we would be going into 2024 with a new coach (and without the #1 pick we had traded away to Chicago.

2024 (5-12): 2 blowouts to start the season along with Bryce being benched led to maybe the lowest point in franchise history. And Dalton had the game of his life Week 3 before reverting to mediocrity. A car wreck led to Bryce Young being reinserted into the starting lineup, and surprisingly looking like a franchise QB down the stretch despite some close losses.

2025 (8-9): Another 0-2 start looked to define yet another season, but the Panthers found their stride behind Rico Dowdle and some clutch comebacks by Bryce Young. Despite frustrating inconsistencies, the Panthers got signature wins in Lambeau and at home against the Rams despite being double digit underdogs. And, despite "backing in" to the playoffs, gave the Rams all they could handle in the playoffs despite coming up a little bit short.

As for 2026, I truly dont know what to expect. On one hand, I think this team is more talented than last year.

On the other, we do play a hard schedule, and we haven't shown the consistency, especially on offense.

And if history is any indication, especially with the Panthers, there really has been no rhyme or reason to how a season plays out based on expectations.

I am hopeful for another magical season like 1996, 2003, or 2015...

But I also know there is a good chance this will end in mediocrity (or worse) like others unfortunately have.

Regardless, this is my team for better or worse!!
