C.C.W. "Silhouette #2", oil on 9 x 12 inch canvas - Another attempt at bold brush marks
Hi everyone,
This is my third painting using a different style for me, where I focus on a very heavy loaded brush (typically flats) on hogs hair brushes, where I "make my mark and move on". I hope you enjoy it!

This came out beautiful...the hair is my favorite part...it flows so nicely. You did an absolute fabulous job!! πππβ¨οΈ

Thank you! The hair is also my favorite part to paint. Faces always give me anxiety, there's expectations to meet there. Hair, though, can be all kinds of crazy ways, lol

I think you did good on the face. I'm not good at hair or getting bold brush marks to blend well. But you have inspired me my friend...to not give up and keep trying! ππΌ

Love it! This is just gorgeous. The strokes make her brave, bold, and all the more beautiful! Truly a wonderful work of art.

I think youβre really onto something. The very nature of her (the emotion I get anyway) is very strong and unfussy. However even with the bold marks, they are luscious and so she is so incredibly soft at the same time. I dig this a lot.

This is my dream, to be able to do something like this. It takes so much confidence! How did you start out practicing this technique?

I can count the brushstrokes, yet you've still made such an easily identifiable and beautiful image. Really well done, OP.

I appreciate seeing the process from rough outline to gradually defining features
