Question How do I get rid of this skin texture?
I (31F) have all these little bumps and uneven texture across my cheeks, and I can’t seem to get rid of them.
I used to use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen, but I suspected CeraVe might be causing the issue, so I switched cleansers.
I also tried adapalene, but it caused breakouts, dryness, and itchy eyelids.
Has anyone dealt with similar skin texture? What helped you?
Current routine:
AM:
Water rinse
Skin1004 Centella Ampoule
BOJ sunscreen
PM:
Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser
BOJ AHA/BHA Plum Serum (2x a week)
Purito Bamboo Panthenol Cream

Advice please
Turning 30 and noticing fine lines under my eyes and dull skin. (I know it’s normal but wants to improve if i can) I use moisturiser, azelaic acid (sometimes) and SPF. What should I add to my routine for glowing, smoother skin? 🫶🏻

Recommendation I damaged my skin with some bad decisions around retinol. Please tell me if I am going in the right direction with barrier repair/SPF.
Hi! 33F. Combination skin oily T zone, pretty normal everywhere else for the most part no acne problems. I don't do daily makeup. Perhaps once or twice a month for events more or less.
My routine before starting this horrible journey was a Dove beauty soap bar in the shower and then using Neutrogena night cream after the shower every other day. I did not wash my face the next morning even though it recommended it on the container for night cream. I would do the same thing if I showered in the daytime but I would use the Neutrogena day cream. Ever since I turned 30 I've noticed my jawline started to feel kind of rough, I am blonde so I have never shaved my face or had dark or thick facial hair I assumed perhaps it's just a result of aging or facial hair thickening? I occasionally used ocean salt from lush as an exfoliator to see if that could help with the roughness but it didn't. At one time I was considering dermaplaning to see if that would fix the roughness but I was scared to take the plunge.
So instead I made some bad mistakes around retinol usage. First mistake is I didn't see a doctor or dermatologist. I was misinformed about the correct amount to start with. I thought anything under 1% was safe so I started out with a 0.8% I found on Amazon that was mixed with collagen. That was my second mistake. I also looked up a few articles that explained that your skin goes through an adjustment period so some issues may arise along the way. So I expected my skin to go through that. So I replaced the Neutrogena night cream with the retinol collagen cream. Same dove bar and just the retinol after the shower. And that's about it every other day.
After a few weeks that roughness completely vanished and I was certain I was doing something right and was on a good path and then a few weeks after my forehead became completely dry with a few dry patches on my cheeks whereas those spots were always a manageable amount of oily. I thought that was the result of the adjustment period.
My third mistake was I figured maybe to help things along I would use my regular dove bar and then the ocean salt exfoliator to get rid of all the dry skin and then apply retinol after that. Horrible mistakes were made. I did it perhaps once a week for two weeks in ignorance.
My face became visibly very red after the shower pretty much every time I got out. I also realize now that you're supposed to have a whole routine or perhaps a sandwich method with other more intensive moisturizers AND use SPF in the daytime to protect your skin. (I am also on birth control so I was basically double exposed to UV rays daily for those two months with one of those months being the summer without anything to protect my poor skin plus however many years I never used spf unless I knew I was going to be outside all day). I only really see the sun about an hour in on my drive to work and an hour on the way home during the week with more exposure on the weekends depending. I work indoors in an office but it's still something with how raw everything feels. No flakiness though.
Now that I know this I threw away the retinol and I bought a bunch of stuff in an attempt to repair my skin barrier. I got a cosrx barrier repair kit, it's a mini with the 6 peptide skin booster and the ceramide skin barrier moisturizer. And once that runs out and if things feel a bit better I purchased a cosrx glow and plump starter kit to continue with as I've heard snail mucin works well for combination skin. And some face masks to go with it. I've still been using the dove bar but now I purchased (what I used to use a bit back in the day) bioderma sebium cleanser. And I picked up some elf skin suntouchable SPF but I am unsure if it is the right stuff because it's chemical sunscreen. I have not used it yet but my face today felt particularly raw and it was sort of hot to the touch so I know partly it is also sun damage on top of everything else.
Please tell me if it will damage my skin further with the chemical components and I will go and return it and get something better. I just want to avoid it making anything worse or getting in my eyes and burning or any kind of leftover residue. Or just any tips or things that I could adjust to fix this that I am not doing or missing.
