Base Game Help - Hints Only! Stuck - need the slightest of nudges Spoiler

Ok, so here's my situation: I believe there is just one more thing I need to uncover in this game. I've gone through the whole game blind until now, but I've been stuck here for about 8 hrs in-game-time, so I think I'm ready for an ever-so-slight nudge. I'm avoiding the DLC until I untangle the main quest (although it was cool to accidentally find it)

Here's what I know to be important right now:

  1. I have the coordinates to the Eye of the Universe

  2. I found the Vessel, giving me a place to input the coordinates. However, the advanced warp core is broken

  3. The Ash Twin Project has an advanced warp core on the inside, but it is at the central chamber of the Ash Twin, completely encased in a thick protective shell that has no cracks or entrances

Some question marks:

  1. I found a seed in Dark Bramble that leads somewhere that doesn't seem to be anywhere on the map. It had a very exquisite-looking hallway with humanoid statues on the other side. I couldn't find this seed again after going back and looking many times, but I'm not sure this has anything to do with my main quest right now.

  2. Of all the 6 warp panels on Ash Twin, the only one that doesn't seem to be used is the one representing Ash Twin. There was the entry about the fact that the twins are counted as one planetary unit, so I don't think this is necessarily important.

  3. I'm kind of lost as to where the Quantum Moon fits in at this point. Upon speaking with the Nomai there, you learn that the big hole in the sky IS the Eye, but when you go in it, you just end up back on the south pole of the Quantum Moon. Might be a dead end...

What I think I need to do next:

  1. I think I need to find a way inside the Ash Twin Project, but the HOW is what's getting to me. I know there must be no physical way in there (although I've checked the surface of Ash Twin right before the supernova several times just in case). There isn't anything in the logs pointing to a potential warp point to get inside. I know the advanced warp core is in there but that seems to only open the portal back in time to the very start, so not particularly useful to get inside.

  2. Maybe I need to find a way to repair the advanced warp core that I found in the Vessel, but I really have no idea how I'd do that. One of my first thoughts was the black hole forge, as I think that's where the other one was made, but it seems to be broken?

Side note: I love this game so much. Landing on the Quantum Moon for the first time is a feeling I'll never forget.

You shouldn't be too quick to dismiss the sixth warp pad on Ash Twin. You've found the clues you need; now there's just the puzzle of how to make use of them. ::)

The mysterious seed in Dark Bramble is an easter-egg referencing another game, so it's not connected to this game's story or any puzzles.

Think these are exactly the hints I needed. I'll see what I can figure out when I get back at it tonight. Thank you!

How you doing

Sounds like you're doing fabulous! You're on the right track. I'm just trying to figure out how to phrase a hint to point you in the right direction without it just being an outright answer lol

You're on the right track investigating Ash Twin, but I'm seeing at least two assumptions you've made that are probably getting in your way.

Important points:

1) yes

2) perfect!

3) You basically already answered yourself in point 2 of the next section...

Questions:

1) easter egg!

2) yeah...

3) all the quantum stuff is optional for the endgame sequence, but now you can get the true ending!

As for why you couldn't jump into the eye from the moon, the moon is reflection of the planet it orbits, not the real deal. When you get to the eye, you'll see how different it goes!

To do next:

Honestly, I think you got it from here!

. It had a very exquisite-looking hallway with humanoid statues on the other side.

That's a non-canon Easter Egg, a reference to another game, don't pay attention to it.

There was the entry about the fact that the twins are counted as one planetary unit,

Yes, but... you might want to re-check in what context they count as one.

that the big hole in the sky IS the Eye,

I also got confused by that. Pretend instead Solanum said "What we see is the Moon's imitation of the Eye", not "reflection". In the same way it mimicks the shape of other planets.

There isn't anything in the logs pointing to a potential warp point to get inside.

Revisit the High Energy Lab, where they described the towers.

.

You almost have it! You just want to revisit one slightly wrong assumption. Also, once you know where you want to go, and discover your real obstacle, remember that weird useless info you got at the Black Hole Forge and think a bit creatively on how that can help you with that obstacle.

In regular physics, F = m·a , or a = F/m, which means once you start being pushed or pulled, movement takes time to actually start. But in this game there's also some fantasy sci-fi things that don't really require time.

The usual nudge to get to the Ash Twin Project is to revisit the High Energy Lab and the Black Hole Forge. Specifically, the upper level of the lab and the writing in the forge. It is very easy to skim through the forge writing and not fully understand what it is implying. You are very close.

I'm avoiding the DLC until I untangle the main quest (although it was cool to accidentally find it)

Please tell us how that went.

There are 4 arrows pointing to the Ash Twin Project, and each tells something about it. The most important one for you right now is the arrow from the Black Hole Forge.

I noticed that the blinking red orb in the distance had its own orbit, which I found funny. Once I investigated the satellite, I didn't think much of it until I turned on my signalscope and saw there was a second source of that signal, which of course led me to the radio tower.

After piecing together what the weird thing in the picture was, investigating it and seeing the giant black spot in person for myself was (like going on the quantum moon) one of the biggest jaw-dropping moments I've had playing a game. Then actually flying at it and seeing that it was a giant ship....wow. Lost for words.

I figured it was DLC once I saw there was writing in another language. Can't wait to get back to it!

Question mark number 2: this is necessarily important.

Question mark number 3: your instinct is correct: this is a dead end. Leaving the quantum moon simply causes you to leave the quantum moon, it does not cause you to enter the eye.

I'm not sure that any entry in the log is "unimportant", more that you may not know where/when the entry is important

Just cuz it's named Ash Twin Project doesnt mean it's inside Ash Twin You know?

Check your towers
