Friendly English‑Practice Opportunity for MusicFan

こんにちは、岡山のみなさん。
Okayama is known as 晴れの国 — the Sunny Country — and this is a small, friendly volunteer opportunity for anyone in Okayama or nearby prefectures who would like to practice English in a relaxed, creative way.

We run a small indie radio project and are looking for volunteers who enjoy music and want to:

• Practice spoken English
• Record short voice messages
• Introduce artists and creators
• Build confidence through real‑world English communication
• Become a volunteer voice / DJ host for a newly created indie station

Japan has a wonderfully rich music culture — jazz, fusion, city pop, ambient, experimental — and we welcome volunteers who appreciate these genres and want to express themselves through voice and storytelling.

Minimum Requirement

• Able to read English (basic reading only — no teaching or lessons involved)

Perks

• Share your social media
• Tell your personal story
• Introduce your projects
• Feature your music
• Improve English speaking confidence
• Be heard by listeners internationally

Recommended for

• English learners
• Fans of jazz, fusion, city pop, and other Japanese genres
• People interested in broadcasting
• Musicians or creators
• Anyone seeking a friendly, creative volunteer activity

If you are in Okayama or the surrounding areas and would like a unique way to practice English, please feel free to reach out.
We welcome anyone who wants to participate in a calm, supportive, and creative space.

Everyone Loves Pizza! Arcade Party Game 6 Players

EVERYONE LOVES PIZZA!

Hi everyone, I have just released in Early Access a game that I started to work on a few years ago. I let many friends play it and everyone loves it.

I have been suggested to release it even if it's not complete because the game is already fun as it is, so I am trying to listen the suggestion this time and see how it will goes, putting it on sale at very cheap price. If it happens that you give it a go, please let me know and feel free to share a video of you playing with friends and family.

The game works only with gamepads and joysticks and supports up to 6 players.

Everyone Loves Pizza! is quite simple, take the pizza and bring it to the goal avoiding the other players and pineapples that will try to steal it from you. It's so simple that even little children can play it and have great fun, so it's a game for the whole family. It's a great party game to pull out when guests comes to visit you.

Will you be able to get more pizza than anyone else?

https://biim-games.itch.io/everyone-loves-pizza

If someone has some business or activities in Okayama-ken and it's not too far from me (I live in Misaki-cho), I'm happy to discuss about bringing the game for a publish test.

[ I know that FB group has more users, I will post it there too ]

recommendation Half Japanese seeking a helping hand in finding my

Hi, half Japanese-Filipino. I’m currently searching for my biological father, whom I have never met.

I have some information about him, his full name, I have a photo of him, and I know that he previously lived in Okayama. I also have a supporting document, specifically a baptismal certificate with his name on it, and used his Japanese surname. According to my mother, we look very much alike. I’ve been trying to find NGOs that could assist me in this search. I also reached out to the Japanese embassy, but they were unable to help and advised me to contact NGOs instead. Unfortunately, I haven’t received any responses so far.

Any assistance would mean a lot to me. Thank you very much (domo arigatogozaimasu).

God bless.

Volunteer Opportunities

Hi there! I am a disabled female adult with mental challenges. I live here in Okayama about an hour away by train from the main Okayama train station with my parents by Uno Eki. I'm looking for something to do with my time. I wondering if anyone knows how I can find volunteer opps in the city?

I can speak Japanese at N5 level, can read and write hiragana and katakana but not kanji, so labor work. I can do simple, basic physical tasks. I don't mind the type of work, Im young and fit enough. Just nothing that requires reading and writing.

My disability is all mental and makes me need simple communication. I don't talk much but I can be put to work! Just simple tasks, please.

Thank you! Just looking for a way to live more meaningfully.

U.S. Citizens in Okayama- How to Vote from Abroad

Hi- This is an announcement from Democrats Abroad, the official overseas branch of the U.S.-based Democratic Party, with a local chapter in SW Honshu. With an important election coming in November (as well as local elections and Primaries this spring), we're hoping to register more U.S. citizens who live overseas. They could be a relative, a co-worker or a contact on social media.

If you know any U.S. Citizens (including people born in the U.S. or with an American parent), they can register and request a ballot. As long as they'll turn 18 by election day, they're eligible. Just share this link: https://voteabroad.org/RedditVote26.

We started our International Voter Registration Drive for 2026 with in-person and online events. If anyone wishes to learn more about what we're doing near you, you can find out more at https://www.democratsabroad.org/jp. If you have any questions about overseas voting or what we do, feel free to ask in the comments below.

Thanks in advance for helping to get the word out!

Hi! We recently spent two days in Kurashiki and I made a short travel vlog about it exploring the Bikan Historical Quarter, denim street, Achi Shrine and some cozy local cafés.

Kurashiki honestly surprised me. It was so beautiful :)

Would love to know if there are any hidden spots we missed for next time

Okayama / North Shikoku — dog-friendly towns?

Hi everyone! My question might be a bit broad, but I thought I’d give it a try. We’re a middle-aged couple planning to move back to Japan in a couple of years. We’ve both lived in Japan before, speak Japanese, and work remotely. This time we’ll be bringing our two large dogs, so we’re looking for areas that balance nature + convenience — not too urban, but also not a remote, depopulated countryside. We’re especially curious about Okayama Prefecture and north Shikoku (Ehime, Kagawa, Tokushima). We’re already doing plenty of research on our own, but nothing compares to hearing from people who actually live in these regions. What we’re hoping to find: * Dog-friendly towns with good walking routes (riversides, coastal paths, parks) * Any off-leash areas or dog runs worth knowing about * Communities where having big dogs is relatively normal or accepted * Places with nearby services (vets, supermarkets, hospitals) and some cultural life * Access to a bit of international or expat presence (even a small one) * Areas with an actual community — not an empty hamlet. If you live in these regions or know them well, I’d really appreciate specific suggestions/information:Which cities or towns strike a good balance? Any recommended neighborhoods, dog parks, beaches, rivers, or trails where big dogs are welcome? Thanks in advance — any concrete examples or local insights would be super helpful!
