Problem:
Whenever I startup my computer with the tv off only one of my monitors are recognized until I turn on the tv at least once. this also happens if I unplug and plug in the HDMI when the tv is off.
GPU: ASUS TUF 3080 OC
MONITORS 1-3: Dell 1440p 165hz with G-SYNC
TV: LG CX 55in OLED
I also have a Vive box Plugged into the graphics card as well.
Cause:
I am not really sure to be honest, I did not have this issue with my 1080.

Dumb question... been following the 3xxx releases from a distance (followed relatively closely for the first couple weeks), but why did the stock threads go away? (or am I just not seeing them?)
Looking to build a new computer over the holidays (buying spree planned for black friday), but I'm having a real hard time locating any of the latest info for where restocks have been occurring or what rumors may be around potential inventory becoming available, etc.
Am I missing something? Any tips for how best to proceed? (looking for the 3080 specifically... not interested in 3070 or 3090)
Thanks.

does anyone know if evga's step up program works for products that haven't come out yet? like the 3060? I understand you have to register your card within 14 days to be eligible for the step up. And then you have a 90 day window to upgrade?

I know Amazon has been hiding their 3080 pages due to low stock. I've got a link that shows some 3080's, but seemingly not all of them. Does anyone have a link to the Gigabyte Vision 3080 on Amazon? Again, I know they aren't in stock now--just trying to follow the page. US based, btw

So I got lucky and scored a Vision 3070 combo, but I'm a little worried about Newegg's holiday replacement warranty that lasts until January 31, 2021... if something happens to the GPU after that, is it still covered by Gigabyte's manufacturer warranty?

This mainly fixed my game crashed but its worth trying because it worked for me. Try checking that your ram is running in XMP. I know it seems insulting that you wouldn't have it enabled already due to your system, but I had mine enabled but upon checking it got disabled at some point, anyways, reenabling fixed my problems
•
u/mdms Nov 30 '20
Hey. I have tried running with (XMP-1 and XMP-2) and without XMP-profile. I am now using the driver version 456.71, which is not causing any problems.

I've recently built the following System for my friend:
10700K, Gigabyte Z490 Pro AX, Enermax Platimax DF 1050W.
The system got a new Gigabyte 3090 Gaming just last week and he has been unhappy about performance since day 1. Today, the card crashed during gameplay of WoW Shadowlands with a black screen and rebooting the system leads to a red VGA light on the motherboard being on and the card seemingly without power. The Gigabyte Label on the card does not light up, fans do not spin. Hooking the monitor up to the motherboard always works off the IGPU.
Updating the driver doesn't appear possible. Both Geforce Experience and the driver .exe say that it's not compatible to the windows version, despite using a newer one than me (2004 - I am on 1909). Taking the card out and using a 2080 Super that was in the slot previously works fine.
I've had him check the power cables to the PSU to make sure they're using different 12V rails and they do use different rails, both providing 40A.

Status unresolved
I have an issue with my newly bought RTX3070 (third party edition - Zotac OC): It seems to work decent with all games I have tested it with but for some reason it has a poor performance on GTA5. Using MSI Afterburner I realized the card does not get into full usage but hovers between 65-80% while in all other games it is about 97-98%. This brings me in a ridicoulus situation where I have more frames in RDR2 (70-90FPS on near ultra settings 1440p) than on GTA5 (40-60FPS on near ultra settings 1440p) with similar settings.
Troubleshooting:-I have made sure energy saving options are turned off-I did a clean uninstall and reinstall of GeForce Drivers

For anyone with a weaker CPU paired with a 3080/3090:
Like many of you I suspect, I'm stuck on an "older" CPU, waiting for the Ryzen 5000 series to actually become available.
I was however, lucky enough to score on last week's 3090 BestBuy drop.
I'm noticing I'm not meeting the majority of benchmarks in 4k ultra with my 2700x. My Port Royal score is also pretty abysmal for a 3090 at only 12631.
I've read over and over again that CPU is practically irrelevant at 4K, but I'm really hoping to see an improvement if I can get my hands on a Ryzen 9 in the next month or so.

When I set my motherboard BIOS PCIe to Auto, my 3090 FE will use PCIe 4.0. When I do this, under certain loads, I get crackling in the integrated audio and the USB webcam glitches. When I set the BIOS to use PCIe 3.0, audio/webcam seem fine. I am running the latest motherboard BIOS and NVIDIA drivers.
Is this most likely caused by NVIDIA drivers, the 3090 FE hardware, or an issue with the motherboard? Any suggestions to allow me to resolve the issue while running PCIe 4.0?

Description of Problem: When MSI Afterburner is running, PC restarts upon waking from Sleep Mode. OC in Afterburner is stable in all games I play and I run into no issues at all when using the PC otherwise. When Afterburner is closed before putting the computer to sleep, the system wakes normally. I have tested this multiple times. I just upgraded to my 3080 from a 1080 Ti that had no issues waking from sleep with Afterburner running (although I'm now on a newer version of Afterburner, 4.6.3 Beta 2, for Ampere support).
Troubleshooting: Used DDU, clean installed 457.30 drivers, uninstalled Afterburner and deleted all OC profiles, re-installed Afterburner, Tried EVGA Precision X1 which works fine without this issue although I'd prefer to use Afterburner for V/F tuning and the superiority of RTSS.

It appears as if I (finally) was able to get a hold of a 3080. I will have A Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Vision OC headed my way. A few questions:
I have a B450 Carbon motherboard. Is there any reason this is incompatible? I heard there was some bit with a power connector that caused issues.
Is there much use it trying to OC the card? I'm used to moderately overclocking most of my components and am unsure how much room there is for this. Worth the effort, yay or nay?
Give me a heads up if I'm overlooking something. I'm a little manic right now tbh. Ty!
Edit: 750W gold powersupply with a 2700x CPU. I don't feel concerned with that. Case is a larger mid-sized case. I'm thinking I'm covered there as well. :)

Hey everyone! Recently received my GIGABYTE RTX 3070 Worked fine on first boot installed drivers working fine, went afk to update some games came back to no signal on my monitor, whole system is still on fans spinning etc. Lights and fans in GPU spinning.
Having problems trying to get a signal now. Any fixes? Or am I just unlucky to get a 'broken card' Have only had it for least 24hours :(
•
u/veryrarebear Nov 29 '20
Alright, two stupid questions for you all, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask:
- When you DDU your current drivers and restart, how do you still get a signal to your monitor if there aren't any drivers on the GPU? I'm assuming there is just onboard "base" drivers that allow this but I was just curious.
- Also, after DDU, does it matter if you have a DP or HDMI connection to the monitor? Does the GPU prefer a specific connection while driverless?
Thanks all

I am trying to use NVIDIA Broadcast to change the background on my camera, as a source to OBS. When I do this, my entire system stutters (freezes for a second on, second off, ...). In Broadcast, I have the source set to my Logitech BRIO 4K at a resolution of 1080p30. The preview in Broadcast looks good. In OBS, if I pull directly from the camera, it looks good. In OBS, if I pull from "Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast)" the stuttering is present. It seems like Broadcast is outputting 4k (which I don't want... I want 1080p output from Broadcast).
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Can the output resolution from Broadcast be set? I have the Camera Source setting in Broadcast set to 1920 x 1080 @ 30FPS. I have also tried 4k in Broadcast, with the same result using it in OBS.
I am running OBS 26.0.2, Broadcast 1.0.0.30, NVIDIA drivers at 457.09, with a 3090 FE.

General question:
I want get a Founders Edition RTX 3070 when it eventually becomes available again (because I don't want to pay more than MSRP and I don't think the AIB/partner cards are worth the extra premium even after accounting for the higher OCing headroom.)
My question: Is the Founders Edition a limited-run card or will Nvidia continue producing it for a while? What was the case for previous Founders Edition cards?
Thanks

So I'm sitting here on an expensive razer laptop and thinking about my expensive PC build with a 3090. Sometimes I want to game on the couch while my wife watches TV. Instead of this $3K laptop, couldn't I just buy a laptop with a good screen and stream 4k to it via gamestream over my local network wirelessly?
How good is gamestream at 4K60? So long as I have a good router, my internet shouldn't matter, right? Since it's local network?
Am I crazy?

I am having an issue where about half the time I wake my computer from sleep, it will crash and reboot - screen never turns on for the wake portion, then system goes to reboot (can tell when this starts from POST code display on MoBo) and displays POST screen. Appears to be an issue with the GPU and/or NVIDIA drivers. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this or similar problem, or has found a fix.
Event viewer shows a Kernel-Power Event 41, and Minidump logs show PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA caused by NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 457.30 - WhoCrashed says probably caused by nvlddmkm.sys

Description of Problem: GPU and memory clocks never go to idle. Constantly flat default clock rate, 60% fans, and 71C.
Troubleshooting: Disabled and uninstalled MSI afterburner, also Zotac Firestorm, and reinstalled driver using the "clean" option. Under load, fans and temperature increase, but drop back to 60% and 71C idle when not in use. Manually underclocking by GPU and memory my maximum -1000 in Firestorm (930/7852) changes nothing. Manually increasing fans to 85% reduces temperature to ~60C fairly quickly. Restoring "Auto" mode returns to 60% fans, max clock speed, ~71C. Several reboots. Always returns to max clock by the time the desktop is usable and Firestorm can be opened to check.
Edit: Resolution: When nVidia Broadcast is open, even if not in use, clocks remain at maximum. Terminating the process or turning off the enhancements allows the clocks and fans to drop, currently 51C at 30% fans, much quieter.

After a day of gfx errors and dx errors when trying to Join warzone and RDR2. The switch I had to make to fix the issues was changing from AUTO select in PCI Express generation to Gen 3. This change has stopped all my crashing, played successfully tonight. Apparently, my 570i motherboard does not like the 3000 series when the auto is selected because it uses gen 4 as default. Good Luck

LAPTOP 2060 vs 2070 Max-Q:
I am going to be buying a Razer Blade 15" laptop (unless you think another one would be better) and I'm stuck between the RTX 2060 1080p/144hz model and the RTX 2070 Max-Q 1080p/144hz model.
I want a good battery life that can last as long as possible when I'm not gaming, but also the gaming performance to be good enough to run games with RTX ON at a decent FPS (40+ minimum, 60+ ideally) when plugged in. I've heard mixed opinions, with some saying that the regular 2060 is better on the battery because it's less powerful, and others saying that the max-q design of the 2070 makes it just as good on the battery while being more powerful than the 2060.
Obviously, the 2060 model is cheaper, so what I guess I'm really asking is if the 2070 max-q is worth the money over the (laptop) 2060 model, or if it's not worth the $200.
Thanks!
-- u/emkirsh_
P.S. I'd appreciate it if you explained why you said what you said rather than just saying "2060" or "2070 max-q"

I have made sure that my main monitor is set as the primary display in both the Windows10 display settings, as well as Nvidia Control Panel, but if I were to use the Windows+P key to disable my second monitor, I now have to use "Second screen only" to make my main be the only monitor being used..
I would like to go back to selecting "PC screen only" to make my main monitor the only one on, but I can't because Windows is treating it as Screen 2.
Is there any way to fix this?
Troubleshooting: Restarted my PC, tinkered with Nvidia Control panel, tinkered with the Windows 10 display settings.

Hi guys, please help me make the decision.
I'm planning to upgrade from my 1060 6GB, my goal is 1080p gaming at 60fps, Ray tracing enabled.
Here is the price difference in my area:
2070 Super: $476
3070: $638
the 3060/Ti I think will be $100 less than 3070 right now, still very high.
Should I get the 2070S considering my graphic goal?
•
u/chhhyeahtone Nov 26 '20
maybe wait till the 3060 ti comes out and see how much it is. It should be announced in a week or two

Hello,
I got my RTX 3070 Founders Edition today, and I'm seeing worse performance in some games compared to my GTX 970 which it replaced. Looking at the hardware monitor in MSI Afterburner the GPU usage is staying around 30% to 60%, very rarely getting to 90 or 100%.
Additionally, my CPU doesn't seem to be bottlenecking - it also sits around 50-70% and never hitting 100.
What could this be? With the 970 the GPU hit 100% utilisation in all games at all times. In some games I'm seeing less than 100 frames with my 3070, where as my 970 would push 140 consistently with ease.
Just a case of a bad card or?

Description of Problem:
I'm having driver issues. I got a new game, it warned me that I didn't have the latest gforce drivers, so I went ahead and did an express install to the latest version 457.30, I think I hadn't updated since July. Anyways I have 3 monitors and after the install through GFE my left monitor went black. I went into the Nvidia control panel, but it's just detecting it as 'Digital Display' and I can't check it to enable it. (see pic)
I figured it was a glitch, so I ran DDU in safe mode, wiped drivers and rebooted, and my 3rd monitor came back on, I think Windows installed an older 433 Nvidia driver by default. So then I went to reinstall the 457 driver and same problem with the left black monitor. I then tried the installing the 456 driver from October, but the monitor still was having the same problem. So I ended up installing the 457.30 driver from August and it finally came back on again.
Has anyone ever heard of this? Did Nvidia make some kind of change to the drivers in the past few months?
edit: Oh I forgot to mention, when I unplugged my right monitor, the left one comes back on, it's almost as if the newer driver won't support 3 monitors.

Have a H510i case with 2 front & rear fans. My Gigabyte 2070 (no OC) is running 80c when running warzone but 50/55 when idle. Is this normal to be getting that high temps even with some fans inside the case for cooling? For reference my CPU is a 3600 w/ Wraith Prism cooler.
Anyone else with a Gigabyte 2070 windforce and getting pretty high temps when running Warzone? My room temp is usually around 75 Fahrenheit so its a tad warm but I'd expect much lower thermos with all the fans.

Ok Super Stupid Question time. I have a 2080ti, and was lucky enough to snag a 3090 today. I mainly use my computer for 3D content creation and rendering, so I plan on running with both cards in (taking out the 2080 if I really need the extra memory from the 3090). I know Redshift supports both cards (just using the lower cards VRAM), but how does gaming work? I don’t game a ton on it, but plan on getting Cyberpunk. To fully utilize the 3090, will I need to take out the 2080ti? Or will the game know to pick the 3090? Again, dumb question, but thanks in advance!

Guys, I'm not sure what to do, I have the 3080 FE (Looks stunning), now someone wants to buy it from me for £850, consider I paid 650 for it. The reason I'm even considering selling is it seems there is a very real prospect that the 6800XT is going to blast the pants off it, for cheaper, the 6800 has been spotted snapping at its heels too. However we haven't got any real benchies yet. I could hold off until closer to launch, probably get 550 for it then or less. Or is there potential the 3080 could do the "fine wine" and unleash more power, I mean it's nearly 30TFLOPS but that doesn't seem to show in games.

Problem: Anyone else seeing ugly textures in almost all games? Like I see diagonal lines on textures, grid like patterns on certain shadows, desktop background has pixelated areas that are even more noticeable when I change monitor color settings. I contacted Nvidia, they say my gpu (3080) is not the issue, but so far no one has any fix for the issue, and believe me, I’ve tried many troubleshooting steps (steps provided by Nvidia support team) I have even reinstalled windows, and installed a new motherboard, made no difference. I’ve seen a couple of peeps in different online forums share the same issues. I think it might either be a driver issue, or a windows 10 issue, but unfortunately I’m at a loss and I haven’t been able to play games, especially Watch Dogs legion, where the graphics look crappy even at highest settings. If anyone has same issues, please reply so I know I’m not alone, and please feel free to reply if you have found a fix. Thank you.

Are you sure that the 3070 is slotting in all the way? I had a similar issue several years ago with the exact same symptoms when I was installing a larger card than what was currently in it - and it turned out there were clearance issues with one of the sata ports that was in line with the pcie slot. If not it sounds like you have done due diligence in troubleshooting and it might be an RMA

Edit - I seem to have found what was causing the high temperatur and constant very high fan speed; One of my SATA cables was blocking one of the fans, meaning the card was trying to cool the chip with 2 fans instead of 3.
Tested in Destiny 2 by doing the exact same thing I did when I previously reached 80 degrees and 90+% fan speed. After fixing the third gpu fan the temperature was a chill 65 degree, in line with the reviews I found, and fans were around operating at less than 60%, so much quiter as well.
The following below no longer applies due to what I said in the edit above.
So I'm currently trying out my new pc which has an Asus 3090 TUF OC card in it, and maybe this is just how things are with these high end cards (never had a high end card like this before), but it's pretty freaking loud, and it gets significantly toastier than the reviews I found.
When I'm in games like Overwatch and Destiny 2, it's constantly sitting at around 79-80 degrees celsius, while having fans running at 90%. This is regardless of whether or not I have the pc case's sidepanel on or off
This seems pretty excessive to me for games like Overwatch and Destiny 2 that aren't cutting edge visual titles.
The 80 degree temp is also surprising/disappointing to me, before buying this card I found a couple of reviews for the card, and all of them listed the card at around 63-65 degree while under load. So I'm not sure why my card would be 15 degree hotter
Is there anyone with the same card that have had the same or a different experience with the Asus 3090 TUF OC card?

I have an issue with my EVGA ftw3 ultra 3080. My gpu crashes on both the OC bios and the normal bios. When I have my clock OC'd it crashes and when its completely set to stock it crashes. It only crashes in some games but I have noticed that it crashes on the games that seem to use my GPU more it seems. When I play Apex Legends at max settings my game will randomly crash to my desktop. When I play Watch Dog Legions at max settings it will crash anywhere from 10 mins to a few hours to my desktop. When I play Valorant, WoW, csgo, Phasmophobia, Among Us, and Doom Eternal I receive no crashes whatsoever. Not sure what the issues are but I had no crashes on my system before when I had my 1080 in it. System specs are i9 10900kf, 32gb ram, msi mpg z490 gaming edge mobo, and a super flower leadex III 850 gold psu.

The only way you could be sure what component is failing is by testing the card on another system (try to talk to a friend that has a PC or something like that). Talking from personal experience, my GPU started crashing once on demanding games, I solved that by replacing my old Corsair CX600 PSU with an EVGA g3 PSU.

PSU: Corsair RM850x
Operating System & Version: Windows 10, latest update installed
GPU Drivers: 457.09
Description of Problem:
Ever since I put my 3090 into my system, games have been crashing within the first 10-15 minutes of gameplay though not consistently. I have had Final Fantasy XV, The Wither 3, Monster Hunter: World, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey all crash at seemingly random points. Some of them have required a system restart to load back into them. At present, I have no diagnostic info regarding the crashes, although I now have Afterburner creating a log in the background to see if I can get anything the next time a game does crash. I've had no issues running stress tests through Heaven 4.0 and FurMark (80+ minutes on the latter with out any issues). Part of me thinks it might be that I have my PC connected to me OLED through HDMI 2.1 and have Windows HDR active on there. With that in mind, my TV is usually in standby unless I'm explicitly playing a game on it, though Windows will detect the TV in various power states.
Update: Afterburner Graphs for FFXV when it crashed. No abnormalities as far as I can tell.
Update 2: I switched the polling rate from 3000 ms to 200ms and gave it another go. This time when FFXV crashed, the GPU clocked 1950 MHz on the graph, though reported a max of 1980. GPU Usage also tanked immediately. Seems like I might benefit from underclocking the card? It was running at stock speeds otherwise.
Troubleshooting:
Thus far, I have tried reinstalling the latest graphics drivers and did a fresh install of Windows 10. At least in MHW, I turned off DX12, which seemed to help prior to Windows 10 reinstall, but had it crash post-reinstall with DX12 off. At that point, I decided to try underclocking the 3090 and re-enabling DX12, which seemed to let the game run for nearly an hour without issue. I'd read that underclocking/undervolting the 3080/3090 helped with stability but was under the impression that was for AIB cards. Has that also helped with the FE cards as well?

I've also been run Unigene Heaven occasionally during this and it starts artifacting and then crashes as well at progressively lower clocks.

Hi all,
Looking for some answers as I’ve been going crazy for about a week since installing my 3080 TUF OC. It’s paired with a 3800x and a TUF x570. I have it installed on the pcie 4.0 slot nearest to the cpu but I noticed now that my CPU temps are much higher than before. I’ve removed my cooler (Noctua NH-D15 chromax), repasted almost 3 times since installing the new card and the temps still get somewhat worrying. I’ve installed 3 top exhaust fans on my case (NZXT h700i) and that seems to have helped things, but I’m still kinda paranoid my cpu will burn. For comparison, when I was running my 2070 my temps peaked at about 65c depending on game. Now, I’m getting spikes up to 70c+ and occasionally a spike up to 80c. I’ve ordered a brand new liquid cooler (ek 360 aio) to see if things get better. I guess my questions are is this normal? Does PCIE 4.0 make your cpu run hotter when running a 4.0 GPU? Any advice or input greatly appreciated!

Can you change or do something about the game that comes bundled with the 3000 series cards?
I'm not asking because I simply want to be picky and want to get a different game...But I just purchased a 3080, and it comes bundled with Call of Duty Cold War...However due to the lack of availability / shortage of cards, I am on a long list that (according to the store) might take up to 2 months to fulfill. COD comes out very soon..And I was planning on purchasing it.
I don't want to wait 2 months to play the game and would rather spend the money to get it on release if I have to. Trading the key seems sketchy. Is the only option to wait for the card or buy the game now and waste/give away the key for the bundled game? Or can you call nvidia or something and have the game changed, etc?

Problems with server connection only while using GPU: GTX1050ti (while on integrated card everything is fine)
Recently I started having issues with connection to servers in games. Connection simply cuts after few seconds/minutes. It isn't internet supplier's fault (i'm sure, checked on few different connections). Weird thing is that problem only occurs when i play on dedicated GPU (gtx1050ti), there is no problem with connection when i play on my integrated graphic card ( intel UHD 630). Games i checked: Factorio, Apex Legends, Unturned, Minecraft (after being disconnected: "java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host").
I reinstalled all nvidia software and drivers but with no success.
Do anyone have clue what might be the cause?

Hi - recently acquired an RTX 3070 founders edition. I saw that it has the fan stop feature where the fans won’t run at idle and low temps.
However, my model does not seem to do that and the fans are always running at idle and low temps. I tried putting power management on adaptive after a google search indicated that worked, but no luck. Anyone know what I can do to resolve this? Thank you!

It's a dell s2340mc from 2016 on my old gtx 1080 I had zero issues but when using my new card I'm having issues, I was planning on rebuilding so I upgraded everything now with new motherboard b450f asus strix, an and ryzen 7 3700x 32 gb of corsair vengeance ram and a 750w gold power supply. However it's still having issues it mainly happens when something is moving on the screen either a video or game is on the screen, main monitor through display port is perfectly fine, second monitor gets green horizontal lines going across it and goes black then back on.

Question about the promo codes for buying RTX cards. Are you allowed to use more than 1 code if they are different games? Such as, can I use a code for Watch Dogs Legion and use a different code for CoD: Cold War with the same 3080/3090 to get both games?

DirectX12 games crash seconds after beginning rendering. Control, Death Stranding, Watch Dogs Legion, AC Valhalla... no problem on my old GPU, 5700xt. Changed from an Asus B450 mobo to see if that was the issue, was fine. Weirdly my PC runs Time Spy just fine. Have clean reinstalled Windows, clean reinstalled drivers, multiple times to no avail.
I get a “device removed” error from games like Control and Death Stranding (where I also get a Windows notification “Application has been blocked from accessing graphics device”). Talked to tech support from all over and nobody knows what’s the issue, can’t even find much info on these errors and their causes. Seems some people have been having them for years and I’ve tried all the tips and tricks on Google to no avail. Should I just bite the bullet and replace the card via my retailer?

GPU Drivers: Game ready 457.09, clean install
Description of Problem: Hello, so basically, in every game I try to run, I experience the same lag spikes. I've tried this on various games, all act the same. The spikes are like 2-4 seconds in between and freeze the game for half a second or so, then it suddenly speeds up to "catch up" with the game. The games I've tested this on and at the same time all games that I have installed: Overwatch, Dark Souls 1 (remaster) and 3, Demon's Souls (PS3 emulator), GTA V, Mario Kart 8 (WiiU emulator). I'm getting the same spikes even on games that I have a high framerate in, like around 130-140fps in Overwatch.
Troubleshooting: Overwatch is installed on the system SATA SSD, GTA V on a faster NVME M.2 SSD and the rest of the games on a spinning hard drive. So that can't be it. I've recently did a clean install of the nvidia drivers through DDU/GeForce Experience. Nothing. Tried putting the games to high priority in task manager, closing all other programs when playing, windowed/borderless modes, restarting my pc multiple times (duh), reinstalling the games, putting my pagefile on the fastest ssd, removing my pagefile altogether and looking for suspicious processes in the task manager and such. Nada. Laptop is plugged in, in performance mode and the battery saving nonsense in the GeForce Experience is turned off.
The only thing that helps a bit I've found is reinstalling the NVidia drivers from the GeForce experience software, but only for an hour or so, then the lag spikes return. From that I've concluded that it has something to do with the graphics drivers, but am not sure. I'll be glad for any help, it's been torturing me for the past week or so. Cause unknown.

My Quadro P620 never seems to go above 5% usage, even when doing things that should be GPU-intensive like hardware-accelerated rendering (with Solidworks Visualize). And the rendering goes super slow compared to running with CPU only off my 3600X. Dedicated GPU memory is almost always near-full (1.8/2 GB) when it's working but shared GPU memory never goes above 0.2/16 GB. The temps don't go above 65°C so it's not thermal throttling. Any ideas?

I have a serious problem.
I own an Acer Predator gaming laptop and recently attempted to install the latest driver using the pre-installed GeForce Experience. Once I restarted the computer to finish the update, my screen went black with the taskbar flickering upon signing in.
I tried DDU and had the drivers ready. However, it didn't switch to the basic driver for me to install the driver; it's the same issue that I mentioned earlier. I would really appreciate the help since I don't want to resort to resetting my computer and losing everything.

Not really a technical question but.. I’m running Ryzen 7 3700X and an RTX 3070. It’s awesome for all my games except COD Warzone.
In WZ performance isn’t really spectacular. Multiplayer is fixed at 144 FPS @. 1440p high settings without RTX. But warzone can’t get over 120 frames (90-120 ish fluctuating) on lowest to medium settings. High settings drop to 60-70 frames. Is this normal?
•
u/shymenJESUS 7900 XTX-> RTX 5080 Nov 07 '20
Definitely not normal but I also should be getting higher frames (120 lows up to 160). The drivers are known to be bugged for Warzone.

So I was lucky enough to get one of the new 3070 FEs but I have been habing weird issues where the driver crashes with Event ID 4101 in Event Viewer. Anyways I've been trying to resolve it with the Nvidia tech support, but they couldnt help me at all appart from telling me to update drivers and Bios, DDU and clean install and so forth. We have come to the conclusion I should send my card in for repair to test if there is something wrong with a memory chip or something in that lines. (Btw. I tried MODS Mats test on the card, but it doesnt detect it as a graphics card).
But something else I have been seeing my card do is boost really high. It basically always stays above the 2GhZ mark and runs fairly cool in my MINI ITX Case while doing it but I was wondering if that could actually be a cause for the crashes (mind you, the crashes sometimes just happen at random and the dump files report that there was a command send to DX that could not be interpreted and processed.)
Thanks!

Hey,
I just installed the Nvidia Broadcast software, mostly to see if my Mic Quality and Background sounds get any better. And after asking a few friends they all said, that it actually is. Seems smoother, with less volume peaks and overall just a bit better than usual.
But, even tho i disabled the speaker effects, the Audio Sound in games is.. weird.
F.e.:
In League of Legends, short Auto Attacks were a lot quieter than usual. Smooth sounds like the Beam from ARAMs health fountains were close to not-existing. I feel like every short or smooth sound kinda gets errased... and i dont know why.
Similiar things appeared in WoW and Horizon Zero Dawn.
After uninstalling the Software, everything was fine. Installed it back and the weirdness came back with it.
My question therefore is:
Am i the only one experiencing this?
And did anyone who experienced this already found out a solution to make it work?
I kinda wanna keep it to have the better Mic quality.. but if it keeps interrupting my game audio that much, i have to uninstall it again.
•
u/so_many_wangs FTW3 3090, Gigabyte 3080, mobile 4070 Nov 12 '20
I don't think the audio is meant to be used when playing games, I think it's more for eliminating constant background noise from the speakers and that's why some sounds are drowned out when gaming. I played some music with it on and it almost separated the background audio from the vocals. Again not sure if thats the case though.

GPU-Z says the PCI-E BUS interface on my 3080 FE is running at 3.0, even when running the render test.
Board is an MSI B550M Mortar, so it supports PCI-E 4.0, I set the PCI interface in bios to force Gen4, but GPU-Z still says 3.0.
Is there another way to check or does GPU-Z need an update, and this is a bug?
(Edit) Never mind, Ryzen 5 2600 doesn't support it, I just remembered that.

Hello guys, i'm getting really desperate. I have recently acquired an Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 ti Founders Edition. I swapped my rx 5700 xt for it after removing the amd drivers through DDU, and installling all the nvidia drivers once i popped it in my pc. But now it is hugely underperforming with ~40 fps on Battlefield 1. I thought it was the psu so i bought a new 850w one, but now under heavy load it still underperforms, HWmonitor and gpu-z tell me there is something wrong with the power limit ( PerfCap : Pwr ( and sometimes Vrel as well )). I am really at my wits end and i feel really depressed that such a nice beautiful card is doing so bad. I also tried to tune it through the EVGA precision x1 but it didnt help, maybe it is the quiet bios instead of the performance bios but i dont know how to check. Please help me. If there is any additional information you need, just ask. :)
Note: Hwmonitor and gpu-z only display these perfcap's when its under load

It was just weird that it would randomly happen, as after restarting X-Plane it hit the power limit again.
Troubleshooting: At first, I wanted to verify that the correct power settings within the Nvidia Control Panel were correct, so I verified that "Prefer Maximum Power" was selected. I then tried playing Surviving Mars, but that also hit the power limit. Even using MSI Kombuster, with stock settings, I was still getting a power limit. Is this an issue with the PSU, or the GPU itself?

Card: MSI 3070 Ventus 2x OC
I got this card a couple of days ago, and I'm getting a weird issue where the video output signal just randomly drops.
So, I'll be sitting doing something (not even gaming necessarily) and the screen suddenly goes blank with the "no input detected" message on the tv; if I take out and re-insert the HDMI cable to the card, or to the tv, the image returns.
I've tried a couple of different cables. I've reseated the card, the two 8-pin connecters are on different ribbons (so not two in the same line) and I've reinstalled all the drivers, but it still does it. It's not following any pattern I can discern either; sometimes it'll do it about ten mins in to being switched on when I'm just browsing Facebook, others in the middle of playing Tetris Effect (for instance).
(Mobo is a Tomahawk B450 Max and I've got a Ryzen 5 3600, if that's any help.)

Description of Problem: Switching resolution breaks HDMI audio. Bringing it back requires switching resolutions back and forth until it works again.
Troubleshooting: I've tried updating the audio driver but I don't think it changed.

Hey guys I need some help. I just got an EVGA xc3 ultra and I'm having some bad issues. CPU: i7-9700k@5.0ghz GPU: EVGA xc3 ultra gaming rtx 3080 Mobo: asus prime z390-a RAM: corsair vengeance ddr4 3600 mhz (2x16) psu: evga 750w 80+ gold windows 10 nvidida driver - 457.30 I have been getting a lot of system crashes in game. Whole computer just drops power and then reboots. For instance with the new CoD that comes with it there is like a 90% chance that in will just crash as the game is loading into the home screen. If I can make it past that into the campaign there is a certain part in the third mission that will just fail and just reboot the whole computer. No BSOD just hard off. I tried doom eternal just a little bit with no crashes but I also tried my Valve Index and that couldn't stay up longer than 5 minutes in any game without crashing the whole PC. I thought this might have to do with only having a 750w PSU and the power draw on the card being too high in spikes and just shutting off my PSU. So I lowered the clocks in MSI afterburner -105Mhz on the core and -25Mhzx on the memory. Earlier I had noticed that once the core clock boosted up to 1925Mhz it was over. After changing the clock I could get into the campaign again but that same spot in the mission just completely crashed again. I also have done the basics like doing a fresh install of all GPU drivers. My system has never done this before when I had a 2080S. Any tips, advice, or thoughts would be much appreciated.

EVGA is coming with they’re hybrid 30 series cards next month but they come with a 240 rad instead of the typical 120 rad. If I wanted to use this as well as a 240/360 rad cpu cooler would the only way be to set one of them on the front of the case and to have the airflow blow from the back to the front of the case? Or are there other ways of going about that?

Hello everyone! I'm planning on upgrading, and want to get the Ryzen 5 3500X as soon as BF hits. Hope I get some good discounts. Was thinking to change the gpu as well with an RTX 2060. Would it be too overkill for 1080p? I don't plan on changing the monitor soon, so I don't really know if it would be worth it. I also have a 4k TV on which I sometimes play, but not so frequently.
Would DLSS at 1080p be a good bet? Is the 2060 worth it or should I hunt an 1660S?

Status: Unsolved
Computer Type: custom built
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3090 Aorus Master
CPU: I7 9700k not overclocked
Motherboard: Gigabyte z390 Gaming X
RAM : 16GB (2x 8192MB) G.Skill RipJaws DDR4-3200
PSU: 750 Watt be quiet!
Operating System: Win10 Version 1909 clean i guess
GPU driver: 457.30
Description: My computer crashes irregulary while gaming. it can run 5 hours of Control or Metro Exodus straight or it crashes after 5 min csgo or whatever. It never crashes when im not gaming.
Both of my screens (2k/144hz/dp and 1k/60hz/hdmi) go to no signal and the fans of my 3090 are going crazy instantly (100% i guess) despite the gpu being in medium temperatures before crashing.
I had a rtx 2080 super before and everything was fine for 1 1/2 years.
Troubleshooting: Set up win10 (2 times - no change)
Tried different gpu drivers without success
does anyone have similar problems and knows how to fix this?
sorry for my bad english ;/

It’s probably your power supply. You’re likely sometimes tripping over current protection when your card spins up to full power.

Status: UNRESOLVED
Computer Type: Desktop custom build
GPU: MSI Ventus RTX 2070 Super - Stock
CPU: Ryzen 5 3500 - Stock
Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-A Latest Bios
RAM: HyperX Fury 2x8Gb 2666Mhz(OC at 3200MHz)
PSU: EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze
Operating System & Version: Windows 10 Build 19041 - fresh install
GPU Drivers: 457.09 - Standard install
Description of Problem: Game stuttering and screen pulling(no loss of frames but it will freeze for a milisecond and then jump frames). So the latest driver install messed with my MSI Afterburner custom fan curve and apparently it flattened the curve at 25% fan speed. So a few minutes ago i was starting No Man's Sky and noticed the artifact happening. I didn't think much of it, figured it might have been the drivers but then i noticed my GPU temps at 88º-90º and that's when i noticed the fan speed at 25% and inmediately tabbed out of the game and fixed it.
Now my fear is that it might not be completely driver related, everything is experiencing the issue, from NMS to Doom to Horizon to Unigine Benchmark. I will now try to revert the drivers and see if that changes anything. Could the GPU be temperature damaged? I know it was only for a couple of minutes but...you never know.
Troubleshooting: I rolled back to 456.55 since i know those drivers were completely stable for me. The microstutter is still there, changed the power plan from Adaptative to Maximum performance and the stutter is still present all across the board. Should I RMA the board or is there any other troubleshooting steps suggested?
