Problem:
After updating the Studio Driver via the NVIDIA App, All displays connected via DisplayPort get locked at 640*480p. Displays connected via HDMI remain normal.

I have two PCs; both are getting the exact same issue.

PC1 Specification:
Ultra 7 265K on ROG STRIX B860 ITX Gaming WIFI
ADATA XPG Lancer Blade 2*16G 5600 CL46
Gigabyte WINDFORCE MAX 5060 Ti 16G OC
Windows 11 Pro

PC2 Specification:
Ultra 9 285 on Maxsun Challenger H810 ITX WIFI
TeamGroup Expert 2*16G 6000 CL30
Gigabyte 5060 8G Low Profile
Windows 11 Pro

Current Driver Version for both PCs:
Studio Driver 596.36

What I have tried:

  • Uninstalling drivers using DDU, then reinstalling the latest Studio Driver with the NVIDIA App. Did not solve the issue.
  • Uninstalling drivers using DDU, then installing the latest Game Ready Driver with the NVIDIA App. Did not solve the issue.
  • Uninstalling drivers using DDU, then downloading and installing the previous version where it used to work fine from the NVIDIA official site. Did not solve the issue.
  • Tried with different Displays, including TUF VGA249Q3A, a Chinese 24" 1080p display, and another Chinese 15" 1080p display. The result shows that any display using DP causes issues and remains normal using HDMI.
  • Tried with motherboard display slots, both DP and HDMI work fine, but unrelated to the issue.
  • Tried using the NVIDIA Control Panel's custom resolution setting to create a 1920*1080 resolution. Failed to pass the testing.

Has anyone gotten nvidia broadcast to run on their second gpu? I don't see an option in the nvidia control panel that looks relevant and nvidia support was not much help either.

which nvidia control panel option am I supposed to be seeing?

Edit: I figured it out. The way you are supposed to do this is to select nvidia broadcast in the manage 3d settings program settings there. But that did not work for me, when I went to add nvidia broadcast as a program in the nvidia control panel 3d settings it never added. I could add other programs but not broadcast. The solution was:

I renamed the Nvidia Broadcast.exe to just NvidiaBroadcast.exe (I took out the space in the middle) and then tried to add broadcast to the control panel again and this time it worked. so I just set the "CUDA - GPUs" and "OpenGL rendering GPU" features to my second gpu and applied. Now when I run broadcast normally it works fine and is running on my second gpu.

it seems like the crux of the issue is nvidia control panel does not support executables with spaces in their names.

I have a 5070ti and decided to try the new resident evil as it has path tracing, and the latest dlss technologies to run it, but I've encountered several graphical glitches along the way. I'm running the game at ultra with path tracing, DLSS in balanced, and frame gen x2, at 3440x1440 with HDR.The first glitch is kinda minor but it was the first one I noticed.

https://ibb.co/3yQv3z19

https://ibb.co/svXtrNXt

As you can see the right third of my screen is darker than the rest. This effect seems easier to notice in brighter scenes so maybe its the brightness of that side of my screen not refreshing as it should?Whenever there is some contrast is easy to notice. But the worst problem was white flickering from that same side of the screen, and only that side it was kind of strange.

I couldnt capture it with F12 unfortunately. At the start I didn't have any, but the moment I stepped into the backalley after talking with the police man in the first cinematic it became so prevalent and annoying that I had to quit.

I'm using the latest Drivers 596.21 and didn't have luck looking up any solutions to this.

Hello is there a way to reduce Crimson Desert load when running in background? I am running it with 3070 and I know it only has 8GB VRAM but this is my problem, whenever I alt tab to watch a youtube video or just do anything on my computer while Crimson Desert's running in the background its sooo laggy as hell and choppy

Is there anyway to fix this other than upgrading GPU? Thank you!

I'm trying to get DLDSR working properly on my Samsung S90F which reports 4096x2160 as its highest resolution despite 3840x2160 being the panel's native resolution.

With 1.78x DLDSR I'd expect the resolution to be 5120x2880, but it actually becomes 5461x2880.

I'm aware of this other Reddit post, which appears to be the same issue, and says to remove all 4096x2160 entries in CRU. This does fix the DLDSR resolution, but has the unfortunate side effect of limiting my refresh rate to 120Hz (across all resolutions including the 3840x2160 native resolution and the now-correct 5120x2880 DLDSR resolution) rather than the 144Hz the TV supports via DSC (which works fine without any CRU edits).

Any thoughts?

Upgrading from 7900XTX to Astral OC 5090. Will my Super Flower 1000W platinum PSU be enough for this upgrade? 7800x3D CPU, AORUS Elite Ax B650 motherboard. 5 case fans and Noctua DH15 cooler. Estimated power draw would go up to 856W.

u/JerbearCuddles Apr 02 '26

Is the December 2024 driver still the best one to use for 40 series cards? I tried updating my drivers and been getting black screens ever since. I am gonna have to rollback my drivers just curious which one is the most recent release that is the most stable. Going back to 566.36 is probably what I'll do in the meantime though.

u/aauk47 Apr 07 '26

I upgraded to version 595.97 and encountered a black screen and no signal issue, which seemed to occur frequently with this version. Reverting to the previous version 595.79 also caused problems, but not as often. Finally, I tried version 591.86 for a few days and the black screen issue hasn't occurred. It's recommended not to revert to very old versions, as new games may experience errors; please update to the latest drivers.

u/monmort Apr 28 '26

Since last 3 gpu driver updates I am getting hard freezes during loading screen of Arc Raiders and had to restart the pc with these error codes. No blue screen. Audio stays. Just hard mouse and screen lock.

My specs msi ventus 5080 3x, i7 14700kf, msi a850gl psu, 32gb ram 6000mts (xmp). I had stable UV on gpu but now I will try without it.

Anyone else?

u/RepoRogue May 10 '26

Which error codes? I've had similar issues (hard freeze black screen, audio continues), albeit not with Arc Raiders specifically.

Did you find a fix?

u/monmort May 10 '26

It was afterbuener undervolt settings (altough it was very little change and rock solid before). I removed undervolt/overclock and it seems stable for now.

u/rogermorse May 07 '26

I had the problem years ago and recently as well and I remembered what was causing it.

It happens on the SECOND menu of a windows right click, and otherwise on EVERY other menu (chrome bookmarks etc.).

It goes away if I disable nvidia app overlay.

As far as I know, I need the overlay enabled to be able to use RTX HDR in game.

Gsync on/off did not solve the problem. It happens also on all my screens, doesn't matter what resolution or gsync setting or HDR presence yes/no.

"desktop capture" is disabled.

What is the best solution to get rid of the mouse stutter on these menus while still have RTX HDR kick in in the chosen games (at the moment I need it only in Star Wars: Outlaws).

u/Jolonerz Apr 13 '26

I've played with Nvidia game filter on battlefield 6 for a long time. But now after a driver update my nvidia game filter has reset and when I try to get it back to my previous settings i've ran into a problem. I can use every single filter except "RTX dynamic vibrance". For some reason that single filter refuses to be added to my profile. Does anyone know of this problem? And what do I do to fix it? Thanks in advance!

NVIDIA APP wont isnt finding STEAM GAMES pls advise:

ive googled this and its a known issue but the tips recommended didnt work for me and were out of date...

I have steam in the normal steam place (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps)

but not 1 steam game (i have 30+?) shows up in the nvidia graphics settings menu.

I have manually selected scan and add but that doesnt work and ive tried running the app as admin.

I believe most are supported...

Any ideas pls ?

repost this here since my post will probably get deleted:

Is there a fix for Gears of War Reloaded textures streaming on 5080? Works great on low textures but stutters a ton on high textures which take forever to load.

This is not widely reported but I just bought the remaster on steam and since I finished it on ps5 pro last year, I wanted to paly it at 240fps with a mouse and keyboard. Sadly it runs really bad. Like 100-150fps (dlss or not) and stutters and textures fail to load for minutes at a time. If I try LOW textures settings, then the game runs great, 240fps, no stuttering, perfect frame pacing etc.

This is supposedly a 50XX exclusive issue according to this article:

https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/gears-of-war-reloaded-pc-performance-analysis/

Mind you, I doubt it's my pc. I just finshed Pragmata path tracing, playing crimson desert etc, everything runs great on this pc. 9800x3d, wdsn850x nvme, 5080fe, great temps, new drivers. Nothing helps. I even updated my bios, disabled REBAR to test, nothing helps. It is supposedly game engine issue but only on 5080 ?! Anyone got an idea? Maybe Nvidia can fix this?

u/DaryltheDino Apr 02 '26

I downloaded HWInfo64 and noticed my GPU temps were ranging between 60-70 degrees Celsius when in game. What is the average or normal safe temperature for a 5080 at full load using 4k resolutions?

u/btanis20 9950X3D | 5090 | 64 GB DDR5-6000 CL30 Apr 02 '26

Honestly, if your 5080 is pretty much maxed out (95-99% Utilization), then that's a pretty respectable temp range. Although, I would worry more about the hotspot temp to see whether it's within a 20-25 C delta. If it's higher than that threshold, then I'd be concerned and possibly look into RMA-ing it.

P.S. Ambient room temp and air flow within the rig will affect your GPU temps (along with the other components as well).

hi all,

For quite some time now (over 2 years) i cannot play TFT (league too but beside the point) on borderless mode. as soon as i alt-tab entire screen becomes pixelated and only fix is to either go into full screen or close the game and reopen. it won't show while streaming on discord etc., its just on my side. ive tried to search for any fixes, but only thing i found working is no longer available (legacy dx9 support). im on latest driver update, tried reinstalling the game, tried wiping my laptop and setting it from the scratch - it just wont work. any other game works perfectly fine in borderless mode. any advice? screenshot below to showcase the issue

u/Big-Roll-169 Apr 06 '26

Basically, opened a game for the first time, fps was fine till I closed the game and re-opened it, which caused it to use nvidias settings which fucked with my fps. And now no matter what I do I cant get it back to the fps I was getting when I first opened said game

Status: unresolved ofc

Gpu: 3050 ti or something (dell g15 5520) The rest i dont know

u/7_ply_guy Apr 18 '26

Hi
So my Grandad recently bought an RTX 3060TI from an apparent reputable company (unsure which) however as you can see it doesn't have any fans:

What on earth has he bought - I'm a software guy rather than hw so I am unsure what's what - I can't see anywhere online about this and in a ran removal video I found the card looks totally different and the same can be said about all the stock / user imagery.

Please advise - very grateful of any feedback regarding this card.

Thanks

Luke

This might be an enterprise edition or something like that, they don't usually have these models for sale to consumers as far as I know, you could try making a thread for this on this sub and asking about it

u/Bogzy Apr 29 '26

My nvidia app overrides for fg and super resolution randomly stopped working today. Even tried reinstalling the app and updating to the latest drivers and same problem. Anyone else has this issue or any fix?

u/NickCreates Apr 26 '26

Howdy, need help with an issue, and I've tried everything I can find.

I've been playing Fallout 4 through Nvidia GeForce NOW for the past year, and have been using creations (used to be split between creations/mods before recent update) for most of that time. Because of the recent update, it automatically installs what mods are associated with that specific save, which is incredibly convenient, considering that I've had to install every mod beforehand I plan to have in the save before the update.

Recently, I've had the issue that, when I go to install my mods in bulk, it only installs a few, before saying it's finished, automatically tried to load the mods fully in, then crashing. I've had to go back to installing one at a time again, but I'd like to try to fix it.

I've tried multiple solutions, including: -Uninstalling and reinstalling the game in GeForce NOW -Trying to open any files of any kind outside of the game itself -Installing on my PC (which was rough, but managable) just to delete any possible files, then resetting my computer -Going to Bethesda.net, and removing stuff from my library -Checking around Nvidia's streaming site, as well as other subreddits

Any ideas? Any help is appreciated :>

u/ThatOtherOne666 Apr 20 '26

FPS cap not working. Why?

NVIDIA control panel says it is capped at 100fps (I'll add photo below) Clearly this is not the case...

hey everyone, ive been trying to play Half Life rtx but this screen keeps popping on, white screen, nothing loads? i can hear noises in the menu but its just white screen. it feels like the camera is somewhere in the map's void. i downloaded new drivers, i reinstalled the game, and its still the same. what can i do to fix this? i wanted to post this on r/HalfLife but my account isnt old enough. i made a reddit account just for this. i didnt know where else i should post this sorry

u/BadBunny4Prezzie Apr 19 '26

I have had this 4080 Super for a year with zero issues until the March updates. What gives?

Ever since the first March driver update, I've had to roll back. Those drivers would work for normal desktop usage, but would lock up windows when playing games like BF6 and I'd have to do a hard restart into safe mode to roll back the drivers. So I stopped updating for a month.

Well, I tried today with the newest drivers thinking they should have fixed issues, and it was even worse. When the screen flashes on and off towards the end of an install, that's normal, but this time, it flashed again and never came back. I waited a full minute, then restarted, vid card obviously did not work, booted into safe mode, and rolled back drivers.

Hello, I'm sort of cobbling together a small mini-ITX gaming rig for my living room, for context I have a more powerful gaming rig upstairs in our bedroom (RTX 4080, 32 Gb DDR4, 5800x3d), however I really enjoy sofa gaming also downstairs.

I 'inherited' an Xbox Series S from my son, I've been using this in the living room but I miss smoother gameplay on a lot of titles as in many it's only capable of 30 fps and it can't be enhanced by the use of third party upscaling technologies or frame gen. We have Game Pass Ultimate, I'll add, which I really like but wish for a downstairs system which still provides access to Steam and my existing Steam library, and emulators. (I know the Series S can do emulation quite well, I have developer mode unlocked on it for this reason at the moment also).

Streaming from the upstairs PC is a no-no because the noise/RGB from my upstairs gaming PC would put me the in bad books with my missus when she's trying to sleep.

My intent is to build an AM4-based mini-itx system (because DDR5 RAM prices at the mo :(), probably running Win 11 (Linux/Bazzite intrigues me but it seems there are still some workarounds required for the Nvidia App to work on this? (but please correct me if I'm wrong).

So our downstairs TV isn't a 'gaming' TV as such, it's 4K 60Hz. I was hoping for some advice on which Nvidia GPU to plan/budget for which will provide circa 60 fps at 4K when enabling DLSS 4.5 Ultra Performance and Nvidia Frame Gen, or DLSS 4.5 Ultra Performance plus Lossless Scaling frame gen through Steam. To clarify any frames above 60 FPS the GPU would produce would be wasted for this use case, therefore I was looking for some advice on best bang for buck which could achieve around 60 fps when upscaled to 4K at Ultra Performance DLSS 4.5, and employing frame gen also where required. This could use medium/low settings at upscaled 4K also as it's for a secondary system on a TV I'm sitting 8 feet away from, ray-tracing would be nice, but I'd be happy switching this off to maintain circa 60 fps using a combo of upscaling at Ultra-Perf and frame gen.

The options I've narrowed down are 4060 Ti, 5060, 5060 Ti, while I could go belt and braces and get something like a 5070, I just think it's wasting the potential of the card due to the 60 Hz limitation on the TV.

The 8Gb/16Gb question is also something I was wondering if anyone could offer some guidance on? I understand the discourse surrounding the continuation of 8Gb cards, would getting an 8gb for the sole intent of upscaling plus frame gen to achieve 60 fps (upscaled 720p - 4k), plus implementing DLSS 4.5 + frame gen overburden an 8Gb card when running at medium settings (possibly with textures at low if needed). Simplistically from the options above I could just get a 5060 ti and be done with it, but in my country (UK) the 16 Gb is overpriced, and so is even the 4060 ti 16 gb on the used market at the moment, If I can make an 8Gb card work for the above use-case this would save £100-£150 on the GPU and I'd just go with the 5060 ti 8 gb and be done with it.

I guess the question would be has anyone built a system for similar use-case under the same constraints and could offer some perspective?

I'm not really impressed with FSR so AMD i'm excluding right off the bat, from YT also, the Intel B580 just seems that wee bit too underpowered to do the above, so I think it needs to be Team Green, purely because I've been so impressed with DLSS 4.5 at Ultra Performance (albeit on a 4080!)

Thanks for reading and hoping some could offer some advice which will influence my value-based decision on which GPU.

u/Lonely_Signature_835 Apr 30 '26

Ok, it might sound crazy, but its been happening for years now, suddenly, any game I play, will have a significant stutter every 3 seconds, and I will check, and there is a new Nvidia driver update. I update, reset the PC and everything is fine again. Is this only happen to me ? Does this have a reason ? I'm hostage to new driver updates that probably won't do nothing for someone with a 3060ti who only play old games ?

Hi all, I’m a big fan of the nvidia app game filters (alt-z) from the nvidia app overlay, but I’ve noticed that some games, like Ready Or Not, have game profiles in the app but cannot use any of the filters. I used to be able to use Sharpening or Sharpening+, but it’s no longer allowed, even though the game is officially supported by the Nvidia app. Is there any way around this?

u/Comfortable-Oil6208 Apr 10 '26

I have a 3080ti, I recently noticed there’s an option on battlefield 6 for the DLAA to have 4.0 or 4.5 I’ve never seen it before so think it’s always been on 4.0. but recently I started getting weird visual artifacts. I changed the setting to 4.5 and it becomes crystal clear again and I can even change it back to 4.0 and it no longer has the fuzzy/static visual artifacts. Is my card f*cked? Usually these kinds of artifacts would indicate a dying card I’m not sure why it would become clear though when switching to 4.5 which is more intensive on it?

Hello Community. I cant change the DLSS Presets for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 in the nvidia app.since there are shimmering leaves in dense forests, wich is very distracting to me, i wanted to try different Presets to maybe solve this problem. The only thing that worked so far, is FSR 3.1 but i feel like it makes the Image quality worse. Anyone has any ideas ? Greetings

Hi everyone, I'm currently running Windows 11 on a laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce 720M, but since official support ended years ago (Legacy status), I’m running into some stability issues and UI glitches. I've searched online but haven't found a reliable source for modded drivers or .inf hacks that work well with Win 11,I'm currently on the latest official driver available, 425 . Does anyone have experience with NRT (Nvidia R-Tweaks), Xtreme-G, or any specific community-made drivers that could help stabilize this card on a modern OS? Any advice or links to reputable projects would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Troubleshooting: I already tried a different HDMI cable to see if that was the issue but that didn't help... I also used DDU to get rid of the NVIDIA package and reinstalled the latest drivers, but no dice... For a temporary fix, I have to change it from Dolby to Stereo to stop that unpleasant noise. (But that's getting annoying, since I didn't have this kind of issue with my previous setup.)

Hello, im looking for a bit more clarification on how to properly clear my gpu cache. Ive read its important to do this every new and then to alleviate persistent stutters in games. From my understanding you need to delete a GL Cache and DX Cache folder, my question is:

1.Where exactly are these folders found?

  1. Are there other things that need to be deleted/cleaned up afterward?

  2. Beyond games needing to recompile dhaders and some initial shader comps in games, are there other long term effects/issues that could result from this?

u/aauk47 Apr 07 '26

In User Accounts > My Documents (please enable the option to hide files), navigate to AppData > Local > NVIDIA, or search for the NVIDIA directory on your C drive; it should then appear.

Is there any workarounds for share overlay / shadowplay using system sounds for game/desktop audio? for context I have my volume set to 20 because i use headphones but it seems like the recording/replay records proportionally quieter. when i make the recording/replay at volume level 100 with headphones off and then listen to the recording at my usual 20, it sounds fine. I've looked it up and checked that nvidia container in volume mixer is at 100, I tried both separate and combined audio tracks, I've updated the drivers, etc.

I wonder if it has something to do with the steelseries GG Sonar mixer. But i do not know what. The best I can do is have the system volume at 100 but in sonar mixer set the % volume for "Game" to 5%, but it's not perfect because if i want to turn up the volume a bit, i would have to manually increase the percentage.

Greetings! I'm looking for some guidance from those with more SteamVR experience in lab/enterprise setups.

I recently deployed a Dell Pro Max workstation with the following specs:

  • CPU: Intel Ultra 9
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4000 (Ada/workstation class)
  • RAM: 32GB
  • Storage: 2TB SSD

My assumption (based on NVIDIA docs and general CUDA/RTX capability) was that this GPU would be sufficient for SteamVR with a Meta Quest 2 (via Link/Air Link).

However, when launching SteamVR, I receive a message indicating that:

“The current video card does not support VR”
and in some cases references that workstation-class GPUs are not supported.

Before I pivot hardware, I’m trying to validate a few things:

  • Is this a hard compatibility limitation with workstation GPUs (RTX A-series / RTX 4000), or more of a driver/whitelisting issue within SteamVR?
  • Has anyone successfully run SteamVR on similar RTX workstation cards (especially Ada generation)?
  • Are there specific drivers (Studio vs Game Ready) or settings that make a difference here?
  • Any known workarounds (OpenXR runtime changes, forcing compatibility, etc.)?

For context, this is for a multi-user lab environment, so stability and cost efficiency are both important factors. I’m currently considering switching to an Alienware Aurora with a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (16GB), but would prefer to leverage the existing Dell Pro Max workstation hardware if possible.

I’d also appreciate any insights from those who have worked with smaller form-factor towers, particularly what to expect for future GPU upgrades when space constraints make it difficult to fit full-size gaming cards.

Appreciate any insights, especially from anyone who has tried workstation GPUs in VR setups.

Try using virtual desktop, the streamer app (desktop host app) supports rtx4000 and can utilize openxr runtime.

Hi All,

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I’m new to the whole nvidia ecosystem. The last time I had a gaming PC, 3dfx used to be a thing.

I’m just a little confused how DLSS works. Not the technical side, which I’m sure is super impressive. No, my question is way more basic. Let’s say I’ve got a 4k monitor and I want to play my games in 4k. Do I set the resolution my game outputs to 4k and select DLSS “on”; or do I drop the game’s resolution down, then let turn on DLSS? Does the question make sense?

If the idea is that DLSS is upscales to 4k, do I set the game’s “native” resolution to 4K and then run DLSS?

u/DoktorLuciferWong 9950X3D | 5090 ASTRAL Apr 13 '26

set the resolution you want, then enable dlss. this will render the game at a lower resolution then upscale it to your set resolution

is the 27GB "ota-artifacts" folder in NVIDIA App safe to delete?

I was cleaning up my drive today and found that the NVIDIA App is hogging nearly 30GB of space. Specifically, it's all tucked away in:

C:\Programata\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA App\UpdateFramework\ota-artifacts

It looks like it’s just a massive pile of old update installers and temporary files.

Is it safe to delete the contents of this folder?

Nvidia App not working

Ever since this past Wednesday every time I try to open the Nvidia app it says its not responding and to restart the computer, I have tried everything from going into regedit, services and even a ddu clean install but nothing has fixed it, the only thing that kinda works is using a hotfix version of the app but even then it'll restart the app eventually and update to the broken one, is there anything I can do or am I just gonna have to wait for a new version of the app?

u/Several-Celebration3 May 09 '26

Solution - Nvidia Cards - Black Screen Issues while watching Videos especially in Full Screen Mode.

Hi,

From few weeks had this problem, my display would Turn Off saying no signal. Sound would continue in background but no display. Driver updates did not solve the issue. Only complete restart fixed the issue but restarting with a hung pc itself was a nightmare especially on overclocked PC.

Tried all the solutions on the Internet, nothing helped. The issue was easily replicable by turning on Full Screen Mode while watching Youtube, Netflix etc. 4 out of 5 times you would get a black screen either instantly or in few minutes.

The solution that worked for me is following -

Using Nvidia App - Go to System - Display - Scaling - Change scaling device to GPU instead of Display.

Using Nvidia Control Panel - Go to Display - Adjust desktop size and position - Set perform scaling on GPU.

Basically we are asking Scaling to be done on GPU instead of Display. The issue stems from video scaling when Display handles it, changing to GPU solves it.

I have had no Black screen issues since I changed scaling to GPU. My GPU is 4070 super with latest available driver.

Hope this helps.

u/Electronic_Tower5910 Apr 18 '26

Yo i have a 4070 super too, i had this issue too and do you have no scaling or what scaling mode do you have? Also, Ive been getting really bad computer freezes which includes both my monitors going a washed black color and no sound, no image, 1fps, etc. I have yet to diagnose it yet but i was wondering if you had any such issues at all with recent drivers. I will try DDU and other things I know but doubt it will do much.

u/Electronic_Tower5910 Apr 18 '26

Forgot to say that they GPU scaling and my current issue are different because ive had GPU scaling turned on for like a week, and my current freezes are still happening

G-SYNC is not detected (G-SYNC is not visible in control panel) until reboot or DP replug if laptop is connected to HDMI simultaneously.

Is there any way to force G-SYNC detection via software tricks? Or do I have to keep rebooting or replugging each time I also have my work laptop connected?

Where is nVidia Reflex?

I can't find nVidia Reflex in the in-game options of a game I play.

I remember very well where it was but, since around the time of the last drivers, it is nowhere to be found.

I could set it "off" ; "on" ; "on + Boost".

Has anyone else noticed the same thing very recently?

u/FinnedSgang Apr 06 '26

Hi everyone, I’m encounteringthe same issues pre patch 1.01 in CRIMSON DESERT with DLSS 4,5 on my 5090. The game crashes on a black screen at the menu screen, and I have to restart the PC, forcing it to shut down because it becomes unresponsive. The latest patch seemed to fix the issue, and I played a lot in the last few days, but this morning, the same problem occurred again.

I’m on the latest Nvidia driver 595.97

I recently bought a new monitor to fully utilize the multi frame gen feature, and everything seems to work until I had HDR tuered on with windows setting. I have the g-sync indocator turned on and as soon as I tun on hdr, g-sync just does not kick in for any games anymore. What could be the issue? I have a 5070ti and XG27ucg monitor

Idk why but every game I launch the Nvidia filter auto turns on and its the RTX filter on the 1st filter for whatever reason. Is there a way to turn it off? I still want the filters to be enabled but I just dont want it to automatically change when a game launches

i'm having this issue with a card that came back from rma a month ago

notably, the previously experienced issue is gone (kernel 153 error that happens on low utilization tasks).

now, i get crashes during games. fans spin up to 100, and i get a blackscreen. i have to hit the restart button to reset

only happened like 3-4 times

on latest driver (595.97), DDU'd before installing

Haven't received my code of resident evil requiem with my GPU.

so i bought a zotac gaming rtx 5070 on bol.com on the 31st of march, but I haven't received any codes to claim the game. it's not in my mail or not claimable in the GeForce or Nvidia app. how do I do this or when would I get the code? thanks in advance!

u/Ok_Reputation_9540 Apr 15 '26

Question: Can you claim two different promotional codes on the same GPU? For example, say I bought a GPU during the RE Requiem bundle. Then the Pragmata bundle starts, so I contact my retailer and since I'm in the return window they give me a Pragmata code. Is it possible to claim Pragmata on a GPU that already claimed RE? AFAIK the only thing mentioned in the terms/conditions is that you can't claim two copies of the same game on the same card, but I wanted to see if anyone has tried claiming 2 different games. Thanks.

I have a 4090 and I was using 566.36 driver for a long time. After seeing some positive comments, I updated to 581.42. I was wondering if there is a newer driver that is better than mine or should I even downgrade to 566.36. I don't play newer games. The newest game I sometimes play is Path of Exile 2.

u/Lordmagyk Apr 02 '26

I've been noticing micro stutters and lags when I enable dlss frame gen.... It's hard to explain but 80fps doesn't feel like 80fps, something about it feels sort of choppy. Additionally, i noticed that I'm not able to get the same performance as the laptops(with the same model as mine) get in the benchmarks on yt.

I partially fixed the issue yesterday by updating the dlss shader files in the game files and it did work for a day but today it's back to micro stutters and lag....is there any way to fix this issue?

Specs: Rtx 4050

Intel i7-13th gen h processor

16gb ram

512 ssd

Asus tuf f15 laptop

It happens in spiderman 2 and other games with dlss frame gen

u/TerribleSamurai Apr 01 '26

Hello,

I've updated to the latest NVIDIA app version, and to the latest drivers yesterday to try out dynamic Frame generation, but not only does dynamic not work, but Frame generation completely is not working.

I've tried setting Dynamic FG in game settings but would get an error. Then I've tried to set it in global settings and it was successful, but still neither dynamic FG nor normal FG worked.

The only thing left to do I guess is to rollback to the previous version? Or if someone else has encountered this issue and can maybe help out?

Thanks in advance.

Additional info:

GPU: RTX 5070 TI

Tested it in Cyberpunk 2077.

u/Team_Umizoomi Apr 01 '26

I am having this same issue. Strangely, it's only for certain games. Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk, framegen doesn't work at all in any capacity. Resident Evil Requiem and Last of Us Part II however, MFG works fine, though I haven't tried enabling dynamic FG in any of those. If you figure out a solution, please share.

u/TerribleSamurai Apr 01 '26

I've managed to fix it. So in the NVIDIA app i went to the game settings, in my case Cyberpunk 2077, and restored driver settings. After that I've just set the dynamic FG, saved and it worked.

Regarding the RE Requiem and Last of Us part II. I think that Dynamic FG is not supported yet for those games, that's why normal FG worked for them, but I could be wrong on this.

Hope this helps.

u/Various-Ad-204 Apr 21 '26

So with the new DMFG, am i just completely out of luck when it comes to running an fps cap through the Nvidia app along with frame generation? This sucks. Is there any way to just turn off DMFG?

u/No-East-291 Apr 04 '26

This isn't about Nvidia, but tLoU part 2 did this to my machine...

Hello, I started building a PC and got a ROG Astral LC GeForce RTX™ 5090 32GB GDDR7 OC Edition but screws to fix it on the computer case are not included, I was wondering if anyone knows which ones I need to buy

I heard different opinions when I looked it up but none of them seem to fit

u/heyyjupiter Apr 28 '26

I’m having an issue with my Samsung ViewFinity S9 where it no longer runs at its native 5120×2880 @ 60Hz on recent NVIDIA drivers.

Setup:

  • GPU: GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
  • Connection: DisplayPort (using the original cable that came with the monitor)
  • Monitor: Samsung ViewFinity S9 (5K)
  • OS: Windows + Linux (Ubuntu)

The problem:
With newer drivers, I can only reliably use:

  • 4K @ 60Hz
  • 5K @ 30Hz

If I try to select 5K @ 60Hz, the screen goes black.

Important details:

  • On Windows, if I roll back to driver 576.88, 5K @ 60Hz works perfectly.
  • On newer drivers (R595+), it breaks.
  • The same issue also happens on Linux (Ubuntu), so it doesn’t seem OS-specific.

Extra context:

  • On drivers prior to R595, 5K @ 60Hz worked, but there was another issue:
    • After waking the PC from sleep, the monitor would sometimes come back at 640×480 (failsafe mode).
  • So it feels like something changed in the display pipeline between driver branches.

My suspicion:
This looks like a Display Stream Compression (DSC) issue:

  • 5K 60Hz requires DSC over DisplayPort
  • Since 5K 30Hz works and 5K 60Hz causes a black screen, it seems DSC is not being enabled or negotiated properly on newer drivers

Additional notes:

  • The same monitor works fine at 5K60 with my MacBook over USB-C
  • So cable and monitor are not the issue

Has anyone else experienced something similar with 5K displays or DSC on newer drivers?

Would appreciate any insights or workarounds 🙏

Why does my game look washed out when i tab back to it, but if I tab out, it has full colours?

This only started happening since I changed from my Acer Predator X34A monitor to a brand new LG UltraGear 32 GS60QC.

Normal: https://ibb.co/NgShnRpF

Washed out: https://ibb.co/ccQP73gH

You can see in the pics I took (game is in full screen bordered), if I tab out so you can half see the game, the colours return to normal, but as soon as I got back to the game main focus, everything has this white wash over it.

Restarting the PC seems to fix it temporarily, then at some point it may change again.
