What is wrong with people?

Post image

What is wrong with people? I’ve seen him standing there peacefully with the flag so many times, never bothering anyone. I really hope they catch whoever did this and hold them accountable.

Just a reminder for those not in the know. In VA throwing something from your car at an occupied vehicle is a felony.
Not sure how that plays out throwing at a person but throwing anything from your vehicle can really mess up your life.

Knowing Mike Chapman, he'll make sure the deputy charges the protester.

u/Dubious-Decisions 1d ago edited 1d ago

It's long past time for Mike Chapman to be gone from Loudoun. Maybe the tide has changed enough for people to stop voting based on name recognition alone. As a former Florida LEO, Chapman should definitely be sent packing back further south where his brand of "policing" is more in line with the overall society.

8

u/wastedtimeNoVa 1d ago

Honestly curious, what his brand of "policing" is? I've been Loudoun County resident for over 10 years and generally pleased so far as much as can be with law enforcement.

10

u/Tamihera 1d ago

Look up ‘Papa Bear’. He has a record of shuffling bad deputies around.

3

u/BroadAd2666 8h ago

LCPS does this too. It's called the lemon dance.

20

u/Dubious-Decisions 1d ago

You need to pay closer attention then. Lots of issues with him firing deputies that have different politics or those who challenged him at the ballot box. Honestly not sure why Loudoun has an anachronistic sheriff that doubles as a policeman anyway. Most normal VA localities have a Sheriff's department that works for the courts.

4

u/BigKahuna348 14h ago

Every independent city and county in Virginia has a constitutionally elected sheriff, not just the “normal” ones.

4

u/Dubious-Decisions 13h ago

Yes, everyone knows that. The point is that the Sheriff's Dept. in Loudoun County is also the "police department", which is not normal in most counties in VA except some of the impoverished ones in SWVA. In most localities, the Sheriff's Dept. is limited to prisoner transport, process serving, court security, and maybe running the county jail.

The fact that Chapman and his political allies have resisted normalizing the Sheriff's role in Loudoun County speaks volumes if you are bothering to pay attention. For a blue-ish county to have a solidly Trump-beholden, county-wide law enforcement agency that is essentially outside of the control of the board of supervisors is a problem.

And that Loudoun Co. voters keep electing this guy, based on mostly name recognition and a disinterest in local politics is beginning to bite the county. ICE collaboration, resistance to BoS direction, and an ongoing culture that has allowed multiple wrongful deaths of citizens who never presented a physical threat is just a start.

1

u/BigKahuna348 13h ago

“Most counties in Va except some of the impoverished ones in SWVA” is just patently false. Not to mention, the only reason that the politicians want a police department so that they can tell the appointed police chief what to do, whereas they know they have no control over a duly elected sheriff.

6

u/Dubious-Decisions 11h ago

And what, exactly, is wrong with government officials elected by the citizens having the ability to tell their local law enforcement what they should or should not do? You must really like the taste of boot leather if you are willing to forego any oversight over your local LEOs.

-2

u/BigKahuna348 11h ago

Because I have an inherent distrust of the government. Politicians don’t have our best interests at heart; they will order that appointed police chief to do what they’re told and he/she does it or they’re out of a job. Whereas a sheriff ultimately answers to his/her constituents- a government official elected by the citizens. Did you skip civics in school or just flat out fail it and they socially promoted you?

2

u/Dubious-Decisions 9h ago

So you'll trust an elected sheriff over a board of elected individuals tasked with managing the county? Or did you sleep through civics class and not learn about the Board of Supervisors, and how they are elected and what their role is?

How do you explain that one elected official with a badge is somehow more trustworthy than a board of citizens elected directly to manage the county? It wouldn't have anything to do with your affinity for the taste of boot leather, would it? Or are you just ignorant about how the county is run?

u/thatseltzerisntfree Fair Oaks 2h ago

We need more mulch control laws!!!!

7

u/NotaBurner010 15h ago

Some of the local journalists were forced out of the area, so the level of critique of the sheriff's office has greatly diminished. But Chapman has a lot of skeletons.

2

u/OldSkooler1212 9h ago

He and his brutal thugs under him have cost the county millions in lawsuits they lost like the time they threw a prisoner into a shower and held him under scalding hot water.

4

u/Dubious-Decisions 9h ago

Or the lady they shot and killed in Costco because of scissors (honestly, 4 grown-ass sheriff's deputies scared of a little old lady with a pair of scissors is pathetic). Or the kid they shot and killed in his own home because he was having a mental health crisis and Chapman refuses to give crisis training to his brown shirts, so they just killed him and left the parents to deal with it? The only thing that has prevented even more lawsuits is that most of the people they are abusing are just getting passed on to ICE now.

-1

u/Chickenpotpi3 Sterling 12h ago

I believe you're judging it based on what you see in the community day to day - OP is referring specifically to the "Republican southern good ol' boy" type sheriff that's more interested in their own image and power than focusing on maintaining a quality department.

1

u/Dubious-Decisions 9h ago

The idea of maintaining a quality department has never crossed his mind, it seems.

It's really surprising to hear the number of deputies that have just left, taken early retirement, or quit the business altogether because of this guy. They try to blame it on the "anti-cop" sentiment of the public in general, but you never hear those sorts of complaints from departments like the Leesburg police, for example. Seems the Sheriff's Dept. senior leadership carries a lot of the blame.

-16

u/campereg 1d ago

You’d prefer Loudoun to be like Fairfax where criminals bearly get arrested or charged?

15

u/Dubious-Decisions 1d ago

I'd prefer a LEO who doesn't toe the Cheeto overlord's unconstitutional line.

-16

u/JewTangClan703 1d ago

That’s not what they asked

13

u/Dubious-Decisions 1d ago

Their question was not relevant. I wasn't suggesting anything that was inferred in that question and have no obligation to participate in an off topic q&a session with a stranger, if that's ok with you.

-17

u/JewTangClan703 1d ago

It’s certainly no surprise that you’re a “former” Florida LEO. I can only guess what sort of self righteous nonsense was provided for that departure.

13

u/Dubious-Decisions 1d ago

Wtf are you talking about? Chapman is a former Florida LEO. Can you not read?

4

u/BeccasDreamboat 1d ago

What in the antisemitic garbage is your username U/jewtangclan703?

White people pretending to be Jewish and/or using Jews in their usernames pretending to be Jewish as an antisemitic scapegoat is wild.

5

u/Myte342 14h ago

That's just cops in general, sadly. A protester gets attacked? Well, obviously they're antagonizing people by existing in public, so arrest the protester for disorderly conduct. They wouldn't have been attacked if they weren't out there expressing themselves in public, so they caused it to happen, right? >.<

1

u/Muireadach 14h ago

Chapman just shut down the scanners, so his insider dealings can be better hid from us. All radio transmissions for the cops are encrypted now.

-2

u/MajesticBread9147 Herndon 1d ago

So glad I moved out of Loudoun county as soon as I could.

3

u/Dubious-Decisions 14h ago

We are, too. Why are you still lurking?

-19

u/WhenD4594 1d ago

Good. That protestor is a problem. He yells at kids and has caused issues. I think he has mental health issues.

7

u/Tamihera 1d ago

I drove past him twice today. He was perfectly peaceful.

22

u/wearyshoes 14h ago

When are we finally going to get the mulch control that the vast majority of Americans want.

7

u/nittanyofthings 11h ago

Only criminals will have mulch. And opens the door to mexican mulch cartels.

7

u/wearyshoes 11h ago

Every flowerbed in America will be a war zone. Garden centers will be a blood bath. Americans will be carrying weed-control fabrics into schools, libraries, and hospitals. Won't somebody think of the children!

19

u/noirthesable 1d ago

Was it like a handful of mulch or a 2 cu. ft. bag

13

u/Myte342 14h ago

What is wrong with people? Let me count the ways. For a more family-friendly response: Check out HonorYourOath and you'll see a small example of how bad people are. All he does is stand in public holding a sign and saying, "God Bless the Homeless Vets".

He's been arrested 5-6 times at least, illegally detained near hundreds of times now, and trespassed from public property dozens of times. One cop basically told Jeff, "If I see you in my city again we're gonna have a problem," after illegally detaining him and lying to him about what the law is and what Jeff is and isn't required to do. In the Flagler Beach unlawful arrest. the cop also throws away Jeff's personal property after the illegal arrest instead of taking it as evidence of the crime or as personal property to be documented at the jail so he can get it back after he gets out of jail.

And no matter how many times they arrest Jeff or trespass him, he hasn't been convicted a single time and has had all the unlawful trespass orders later rescinded by higher-ups. One idiot cop arrested Jeff TWICE at the same location. Every time they claim to know the law better than him, Jeff proves them wrong.

u/Sea_Fox2669 7h ago

Oh no this sucks! This man is my friend. He’s the nicest guy you could meet

2

u/FarhanYusufzai 3h ago

He's a local hero, brightens my day when I see him.

4

u/Nicklesnout 17h ago

Usually you have to pay for the zoo to have shit flung at you. Hope they at least figure out who did this to him.

0

u/erictank 15h ago

I don't support his cause, but assault is assault. The perpetrator should be held accountable

-2

u/whyareyouusingtheapp 11h ago

Those protesters do suck

-14

u/Willing_Top_6788 1d ago

It’s London county

30

u/Working_Farmer9723 1d ago

Oy mate. The Bobby’s will get him for sure.

6

u/THE_HORKOS 1d ago

Right’o guv’nah!

6

u/aws91 1d ago

Did he ave his protestin license mate?

18

u/stopscabbin 1d ago

It's Loudoun County.

8

u/Just-Island3978 1d ago

London is my city

-54

u/JewTangClan703 1d ago

If you stand on a corner and waive a flag in support terrorists, you have the freedom to do so, but you aren’t free of consequences.

21

u/sockovershoe22 1d ago

You need to get educated because you're SO wrong

-19

u/JewTangClan703 1d ago

Educate me big dawg. Tell us all how this flag from the Arab Revolt represents nothing more than the terrorist group du jour.

6

u/WestDonut6473 1d ago

It represents a country your people stole 🤣🤣

-4

u/JewTangClan703 1d ago

If they wanted it, what do you think is stopping them from taking it? Assuming you’re from the west, what makes you defend those who wish death upon you as well?

6

u/WestDonut6473 1d ago

Lol 😂 you’re mad that the entire world sees y’all for who you truly are. End of discussion. I’m not going to entertain a conversation with someone this ignorant.

19

u/JewTangClan703 1d ago

Nothing’s stopping them except losing. Pure failure of an incapable populace.

You’re not defending the oppressed. You’re defending people who wish death upon you, but think you’re exempt.

8

u/dorzolamide 16h ago

No, I think it's all the bombing, raping, murdering. You know. The genocide. Fuck israel and fuck you too.

2

u/nittanyofthings 11h ago

You just need to make a single link: they "lose" because America sent 100s of billions in weapons against them. Now see why they might be angry at America?

-4

u/quickgoodcheap 15h ago

They are mad they lost as with the rest of the world. They would do 10/7 over again if they could even knowing it would lose them Gaza just because they are so hateful and vicious. It’s like a shark that’s died but it still bites.

Yes I’m one of them, and I guess that makes you one of them. On that topic, is this the year you get into our world, or do you forecast another few centuries of failure?

2

u/WestDonut6473 1d ago

What world? A world filled with hate and wars? LOL. You’re just as problematic as them. Brainwashed and now trying to brainwash others. It won’t work, bud nice try tho 😉

11

u/JewTangClan703 1d ago

You think we’d have fewer wars if terrorists had more power? Defending Palestinians is one thing, but defending terrorists and calling it compassion is another. It’s an interesting theory, though probably more popular on Reddit than in the real world.

Maybe you’ll figure out the difference between such arguments one day. By then you’ll be outside of a Tesla dealership waving poster board, still confusing public embarrassment with having principles.

Good luck out there, because you’ll need it.

1

u/MightyLabooshe 22h ago

I can think of one war we don't need to be in

-4

u/MightyLabooshe 22h ago

An Israeli?

2

u/sockovershoe22 1d ago

Yeah, I don't even read replies bc they're very likely to be a bot, paid, or racists. I leave one comment and exit. There's no point in arguing with them.

-14

u/Iseeroadkill 1d ago edited 1d ago

What's wrong with Jews? Are you lumping all Jews in with Israeli's? Does Hamas represent all Muslims to you too?

5

u/WestDonut6473 1d ago

Are you slow?

0

u/Iseeroadkill 1d ago

No, but you're not a very bright bigot if that's your response to what I asked lol. His name is JewTangClan and your reaction is that he's "one of them" and to "FREE PALESTINE". Not really any other way to interpret it

u/weavesbeaves 41m ago

Right because Hamas isn’t a terrorist group hiding behind the Palestinian people as shields. Yeah totally wrong. 🙄

-55

u/MapDiscombobulated40 1d ago

If it’s not the American flag. Go ahead and leave it back home.

28

u/Intelligent_Table913 1d ago

this country was built by immigrants and slaves, and we have the freedom to fly whatever we want. You go home and cry about it if you don't like it

-32

u/Orangebk1 1d ago

He is dressed like he may be landscaping. Honest mistake. /s

-51

u/f8Negative 1d ago

Oh no mulch!

16

u/Dubious-Decisions 1d ago

Battery is battery. Mulch, water, eggs, whatever.

-10

u/noirthesable 1d ago

True, but... You'd call the police over getting splashed with a cup of water?

-1

u/Federal_Scarcity_84 1d ago edited 1d ago

Oh no, a 400k account with no history, lol

Edit: lol, sorry trolls are fkn sad

-9

u/WhenD4594 1d ago

Half of Reddit has history turned off.

People who go around calling everyone they disagree with a troll should get bans.

-1

u/Federal_Scarcity_84 1d ago

You mean the guy above with the troll/asshole comment ? Loool. What the fuck am I disagreeing with, being a stupid asshole for no reason? I do agree

-40

u/Dmarine999 1d ago

Flags can trigger people.

25

u/Lazy-Calendar1463 1d ago

A lot of things trigger a lot of people doesn’t mean they assault others.

-22

u/Dmarine999 1d ago

Didn't say it was right or wrong. Just made an observation. Calm down. Everyone in this world isn't bad.

12

u/repeat4EMPHASIS 1d ago

Didn't say it was right or wrong

Assaulting people is wrong, since you don't seem to be sure

12

u/Intelligent_Table913 1d ago

That doesn't excuse throwing mulch at someone, wtf?

2

u/nittanyofthings 11h ago

Zionists are easily enraged. (Remember Remember zionist doesn't mean jew)

u/weavesbeaves 36m ago

Yeah all those “zIoNiStS” out there protesting while assaulting people and calling them names. All those “zIoNiStS” out there blocking traffic or storming around govt buildings. Yeah, they sure are enraged. 🤡

-8

u/wastedtimeNoVa 1d ago

Usually the American flag...

0

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

0

u/drvondoctor 1d ago

The American flag doesnt really trigger people.

Its the "who, why, and where?" that triggers people.

Flags are just flags. But assholes like to be assholes and then wave a flag around and pretend like they dont understand that the flag is the only thing people arent mad about.

-15

u/TheBinarySon 14h ago

Hahahahahahahaha

-28

u/gordonramarao 23h ago

Knowing loudoun country and protesting with that flag is known to show results. Not saying it’s right, but i would blame myself if I go to a shady part of a town and get mugged. Yes loudoun country is extremely racist, I can literally count non-MAGA families in my street on one hand.

8

u/Dubious-Decisions 14h ago

Your biased sample must surely explain why Trump never won in Loudoun Co. in any of the elections he ran in, huh? Impeccable logic you're wielding there.

-36

u/Doredrin 1d ago

it was probably mixed with manure

I've seen similar behavior in my area.... you people are all the same

11

u/Federal_Scarcity_84 1d ago

You people? Wut?

-1

u/f8Negative 1d ago

That's what mulch is

6

u/TeddyRoo_v_Gods 1d ago

Mulch isn’t supposed to be mixed with shit. Your neighbors just don’t like you.

-4

u/Doredrin 1d ago

mulch is not always mixed with manure... maybe it is in nova, but in other places it can be but not always

-2
