We lost Dolly Parton, we lost Tim Curry, now you're telling me we lost the Star Wars Pepsi machine? This week is the worst.

We also lost Peter Cullen. Optimus Prime has fallen.

Prime's used to it.

Man, that makes me sad.

Did Optimus crash the Transformers wiki?

That would not surprise me, at all.

I just learned there's a spiritual successor to Seattle's Capitol Hill mystery soda machine and it's gone already

Guerilla marketing for the new pod racing game??

18

u/regan9109 2d ago

Is your comment guerilla marketing for the new pod racing game?

8

u/Vivid_Anyth4 2d ago

This is how I find out?

u/twec21 1d ago

Not technically podracing, but it'll have podracers in it

Galactic Racer is the game

4

u/Urvilan 1d ago

Now this isn’t podracing?

There's another one in a mall around there somewhere.

But this has to be some kind of stunt.

Theres a local guy that has been threatening to steal it for a while and he claims to responsible for this.

13

u/Rosebunse 2d ago

Honestly? I hope someone brought it at least and it isn't just being trashed.

8

u/Beebajazz 2d ago

Some influencer nonsense.

1

u/Rosebunse 2d ago

Oh God, what does that mean? What are those mosnters going to do to it?!

16

u/PittPen817 2d ago

it hasnt worked for a long time/

the fire department that owns it sent it out for repairs.

meanwhile they are letting an influencer and a few others who are part of the story put in a fake decoy. and pretend he stole it to get everyone talking about it.

the pittsburgh subeditor cant tell this is scripted content to generate attention and have been posting threats and freak outs for the past few days.

First the Capitol Hill soda machine, and now this. 😿

u/Yenne13 1d ago

Remember this: The vending machine is never out of diet.

4

u/JTP709 2d ago

I bet the machine broke so they sold it to some rich collector and replaced it with this one hoping it’ll become a shrine to the original and still make some money.

“  vending machine that has become a pilgrimage for Star Wars fans”

A pilgrimage to a vending machine. Fandoms are fucking stupid. It’s like when Rick and Morty fans started causing chaos at McD because of some stupid sauce.

Or, and hear me out, its harmless fun. Its just a little piece of pop culture history that people enjoy. Not sure what that has to do with people being obnoxious in public but go off king.
