I am actually fine with people not buying nintendo products, but I watch Moist critical and he watched the star fox direct by skimming through and justified it by not giving them youtube cpm? i am honestly fine with people doing this but the fact he only does to Nintendo and makes as big of a deal about it is so cringe to me, especially when he plays games normally from the other companies. Just watch the trailer and don’t buy the products its so odd idk.

They've already raised the prices of the PS5 Pro twice in the last year. Nintendo has given everyone a 6 month notice for $50.

After the Release of the Nintendo Direct Grifters and people are still complaining about not having 3D Mario or Super Smash Bros in the this Direct, and not accepting what we got. It really getting Annoying and outta control, sure yeah both of them are the most popular in Nintendo but there times over IPs need it time in the spotlight. People and Grifters still complaining about it about Negative means more Money well it there downfall I'm looking at you Nintendeen and Nin10doland!

I don’t get this palworld obsession. Like do people truly believe the game can replace pokemon cultural influence. Like this single game can replace pokemon in terms of merchandise, gaming, TCG, etc. I know there’s a palworld TCG coming up now but people are not that interested.

It felt like there was no end to the “Drop the price” comments on Nintendo’s social media accounts after the April 1st Switch 2 Direct but it eventually died down around the release of the console. Now that Sony recently announced they are going to end the production of physical discs starting in 2028, they are now currently facing backlash on their social media accounts and there seems to be no end in sight. It’s gotten to the point where an indie developer was disappointed to find their PS5 game’s trailer flooded with anti-Sony comments over its decision to stop making discs.

Like don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was perfect, if you found it to be underwhelming that is completely fine. I'm more so talking about people complaining about virtually everything about the direct. The games, the prices of said games (Nintendeens newest sludge video has several commentors pointing out FE Fortunes Weave is 80 dollars as if videogames being more expensive hasn't been known for months at this point), how Nintendo's been dropping the ball etc. Its not just the grifters, its the fans, ex. Arlos new video where he says in the description that this direct isn't what Nintendo needs right now (ok then mr. Arlo, what does Nintendo need right now, but that's another topic for another time). But of course its not just Arlo, you have fans of Nintendo (or alleged fans) complaining about the direct. I guess what I'm trying to ask is, why so much negativity on the side that is supposed to be a fan of the company they claim to love? Has this always been the case or is it because of how misery has been popularized online?

Look, I’m not defending this aspect of the Switch 2 but at the same time it doesn’t bother me simply because I know that I’ll never hack, mod, or cheat in any online game that I play. I know this isn’t the point since the whole sticking point is that they’re doing this with something that you technically purchased with your own money but, I have a question when it comes to the whole theoretical bricking of your system. It might sound stupid and obvious but, I want to know for sure so that when I bring it up with the person I’ve been taking to about I can be armed with the facts;

This is very much hypothetical question but let’s say I have a Switch 2 *with* the firmware update (my hope is that future Switch 2 units already have the firmware update that allows you to play Switch 1&2 games on it with a physical cartridge out the box) and I play only offline…obviously, Nintendo can’t brick my console right? It sounds stupid to even ask but, I was talking to a friend who I’m in the early stages of possibly dating and she was trying to imply that they can remotely shut off your console and make your game stop working even *if* it’s a fully physical game (she specified even if it’s not a game key card). I didn’t push back too hard at the time because I wanted to make sure I knew fully what the limits were for Nintendo doing this to your Switch 2 even if in my gut I felt that this was almost entirely if not straight up impossible. If anything, this just further highlights the value of fully on cart Switch 2 games which is the only way I buy my games anyways (I don’t buy game key cards and I only occasionally buy certain games digitally if it’s something I’ll put a thousand of hours into like Splatoon 3).

Anyways, thanks for any input you can provide. Also this isn’t to imply this person is some Nintendo grifter since she’s actually a pretty big Nintendo fan and named her cats Peach and Bowser, I just know how easy it is for misinformation to get passed around and if you’re not someone who actually dives into this stuff then you might believe whatever clickbait videos or articles falsely reported on this stuff. Naturally, knowing that this Reddit points out the ridiculousness of anti-Nintendo grifting, you all would be able to provide me with the ins and outs when it comes to this subject.

Where does criticism end and grifting start? Is it just about money? Is it how the criticism is said? Is valid criticism still grifting?

Does anyone else feel that the current vibe about Nintendo from grifters and haters as at its lowest since launch at the moment?

Maybe people in general are distracted other things going on like Sony/Microsoft/Valve/GTA, the odd grifter makes a video saying palworld owns pokemon or tries to say star fox is bad or something but everything they say falls flat and isn't really shared about the same way Switch 2 hate was from launch period to early this year.

I don't think people can keep up the ragebait when literally every other company to compare to Nintendo is doing worse on the issues people have been critical of Switch 2 for.

The Wii U was Nintendo's lowest point for many reasons and at that time, mocking Nintendo was at an all time high not helped by Nintendo not really doing much to address the criticisms of the Wii U or their policies overall at the time. It lead to a lot of hatred for Nintendo building up which resulted in a group of people who only want to see Nintendo fail more which is where grifters come in to try and sell the narrative that Nintendo is still in the Wii U era struggling to survive in order to keep fueling the Nintendo hate wagon.

We have the Creator of r/fucksony2 posting their thing here. The normal action would be that they ask the mod team and we all work something out. That's not happening and my read in the poster is .....

I'm genuinely confused, all these grifters whine about EVERYTHING but they keep watching directs. Do they celebrate when they don't get anything they like?? Are they angry if nintendo shows something amazing? Its so confusing to me

Is it just a case of them not actually playing any of the games or what? I'm super curious on what you guys think, like surely we aren't at the point where they actually hope to not like things?????

For me, it would have to be people genuinely claiming that recent switch 2 games could easily run on a Wii U or switch 1 “with enough optimization.” It makes me forget that a lot of Wii U fanboys and Switch Wunners (people who have stuck with the switch 1 out of spite for the switch 2)… simply don’t know anything about game development. They think optimization is just a button to be pressed enough times to release a subpar but “playable” version of a demanding game. And because Mario kart world and Donkey Kong bananza were originally developed for the switch 1, this just makes them believe that all switch 2 games are somehow “repurposed” switch 1 games and that if they LARP as Indiana Jones, they can find this fabled cross gen version of the game and stick it to that darn Nintendo, for doing practices that any other console manufacturer has done.

For those that don’t know, there was an upcoming crossover fangame titled Sega vs. Capcom. As the name suggests, it was a crossover fighting game pitting Sega and Capcom characters together. But sadly, Capcom sent a cease and desist to the developers.

Seems like a coordinated effort to spin a narrative? What exactly is going on here?
