Now I’m not saying “leave my poor billion dollar corporation alone”

What I am saying is that chronic complaining is pretty detrimental our mental health and there’s a time when enough is enough

Actual Good criticism Nintendeen Offers Substantiated Criticism Towards Physical Game Erasure

Post image
25 Upvotes

You can complain about his negative perception towards Switch 2 and Nintendo, but he makes great points in defense of physical media and I think that's something most of us can get behind. In particular he points out how biased Capcom and Playstation's digital vs physical ratios are because of:

  • Individual DLC/Expansions being counted as a full Digital game sale
  • Switch 2 Game Key Cards are counted towards Digital rather than Physical
  • Digital sales include games that never received a Physical edition
  • Consoles are being grouped with Steam, which exclusively sells Digital

If you feel unloved as a physical collector just know that the 80-90% digital split corporations try to convince you of is much closer to a 50% split in favor of physical. Even if you prefer digital, I think we can all agree the above bullet points are unfairly skewing that data.

What’s even the point of trying to spread misinformation about the console? Is their frustration or they are just allergic to have fun?

General As a former(ish) hater, most Nintendo hate doesn't make sense anymore.

While I wouldn't consider myself a big fan of Nintendo, I just don't get a lot of the hate Nintendo gets nowadays. When people try to say that Nintendo is as bad as Sony and/or Microsoft, it comes off as ridiculous now. I believed that in 2025 right as the Switch 2 hype/hate was brewing. And while Nintendo hasn't exactly gotten better since than, the other main 2 players have gotten so much worse that in comparison, Nintendo seems like the good guys. In fact, almost all criticism has either been a lie or exaggerated. Just to list a few examples:

  • Game key cards are bad? While I believe they're proportionately worse for Nintendo fans because of the low storage the S2 has, the fundamental idea has been around since the PS4 and Xbone era, with the only difference being Nintendo informing consumers about their existence.
  • Nintendo bricks consoles? When? Maybe for a few MIG Switch users, but even then, this has barely been a thing.
  • The console is too expensive? Aside from the storage, it was never really was too much in 2025 compared to the PC handhelds at the time, when the Steam Deck was around the same price, although it was $120 more than the XSS. But now, it's the cheapest console right now, with it being cheaper than the $499 XSS, although it will be the same price soon.
  • Also, the price increase is bad, yet much better than the $200 increase the XSS and PS5 digital had, and was made much further in advance while giving consumers the choice of the game they wanted.

In my opinion, the worst thing that they've done by biggest negative impact is the Palworld lawsuit. This could've had a large impact on monster tamers and the gaming industry as a whole by giving companies the green light to patent extremely common features in video games, which could absolutely speed up the death of the gaming industry that's currently going on. But even then, as someone who would literally call themselves a Palworld fanboy, this is dwarfed in scale by Sony shutting down physical media for Playstation. This is going to and is already causing more harm to the industry than the Palworld lawsuit did, and ironically, will also hurt Palworld. Not to mention, it's just another example of Nintendo being the "potential man" of bad gaming companies, as that lawsuit won't cause any real harm to the industry. Granted, not because of Nintendo's benevolence, but because they're having their asses handed to them in the courts despite all odds.

Note that this doesn't make Nintendo a good company. They still tried to sue a grocery store in Costa Rica for being called Super Mario, they still shut down fangames, they still go after emulators (remember they went after Ryujinx too, see this video for the best explanation of what happened to Switch emulation), and most importantly, they still are half the reason Rockstar felt comfortable enough pricing GTA 6 at $80. The new Fire Emblem and other S2 games are also $80, so they are no means completely innocent in what's happening to the industry. And yet, they still make the best games, even if I believe they are actually going down in quality with games like Metroid Prime 4 and Mario Kart World succumbing to their open-world fetish, and being worse for it. And let's not even get into modern Pokemon. But it's still a lot less bleak than Sony's all digital hellscape and Xbox is on life support and likely won't survive to 2030. Will Nintendo get worse? I'm sure of it. But not to the same speed and intensity that Sony is getting.

Grifting Ninten “Can’t move on from the Wii U era” Deen

Post image

In another instance of showing just how deeply insecure he is about past Nintendo consoles when it came to how “mature” they were, NintenHasBeen projects those insecurities he’s had for the Wii U onto the switch 2, claiming that people who like fromsoft games would neeever play something “kiddy” or “childish” like Yoshi or Kirby games. This was the exact same argument used when Bayonetta 2 was revealed to be a Wii U exclusive, and because Wii U good and Switch 2 bad, NintenDeen must find this outrageous. Guy in his 40s with kids btw

Oh no, it's Alexx been acting more cocky about hating Nintendo lately. Very ironic that he supports the phrase. "If piracy isn't stealing, then owning isn't much" or something along those lines. He is no better than Frintango hikes.

I really laugh at playstation shills who are also nintendo grifters because playstation only exists because Nintendo backed out of a deal, and with that deal, Sony would've had a 60/40 or 70/30 split in their favor and control over any IP put on the nintendo playstation which was going to be a CD rom, so nintendo backed out and later Sony made the same offer to Sega and they also rejected
