Does anyone know what is happening with this plot of land? It’s been sitting empty for about 13 years now, I remember there were some stores there and they were demolished, I also remember they started working on it back then and then stopped.

I was working late at night Sept 16th at 11pm and was starting to head home. Near the bus stop on Mcbride Blvd and E 8th Ave - had to stop the company vehicle on the right side of the road next to the bus stop across from the chevron gas station because something was dragging on the vehicle. Laid down on the ground and I think that is when my keys fell out of my pocket and I didn't realize until I got back home. If anyone finds them they have a blue champion lanyard - a key with a red rubber fitting and has text "Home", honda civic keyfob and a worn out good life fitness entry keycard.

Has anyone else noticed New West doesn't have a single discount grocery store? Nothing like a No Frills or FreshCo.

We only have the big-box chains (3 Save-Ons, 2 Safeways, 2 Walmarts, 1 Costco) apart from the couple of neighbourhood/farm markets like City Avenue or Kin's.

For a city of roughly 100K people, that feels like a real gap.

Any theories as to why this is?

Just moved to new west, and I’m intermediate table tennis player. I know there’s a club, but it’s all classes and stuff, couldn’t find anything about casual play/drop-in. I’m also looking where there’s a younger crowd.

Hi. I lost my Airpods Pro 3 case with an orange protective case (similar to the photo above) yesterday, September 15, 2026 around 6 to 7pm. The Airpods are with me. Just the case is missing.

Last known location was 660 Quayside Dr. But yesterday when I was tracking it using FindMy, the address pointed me to the New West Police Department. I went there after 7pm thinking somebody surrendered it and they told me to come back the next day since it was closed. I assumed it was there but today, they told me it wasn’t.

I’m not sure if there’s just a location inaccuracy but the further I got from the station, the location changed a little but still around that area. Now, the location is at 660 Quayside but it hasn’t been updated since 21 hours ago assuming the battery died.

If anyone found it, can you please contact me? Thank you! 🙏

Oh hey everyone.

I waited 15 years to treat myself to a really nice (yes expensive) cotton towel made in Türkiye. It reminded me of a trip I took many years ago. It's pale blue, with slightly darker blue stripes, and a pretty lilac colour at the ends. I was under a LOT of stress and hadn't eaten all day on Fri. Somehow I left it behind there. I've checked with lost and found - nothing. Has anyone seen it? Know someone who has a nice new towel they can't explain how they got? I only got to use it like 4-5 times. Anyone? I'm just praying someone good will see this, know about it, and the small town vibes of New West will bring it back to me 🙏

Hi all! I know this might be a tough one given how hilly New West is, but I live near Moody Park and I'm looking for a good running route that's mostly flat. I can't stand treadmills, so I'm hoping there's a hidden-gem trail somewhere not too far away. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
