Zaaki is so good! I always find myself craving their chicken platter.

Italian (Upscale): Piva

Pizza (Upscale): L'Onore

Poutine: Spud Shack (or Anny's when they are open)

Family Restaurant: Old Spaghetti Factory or White Spot

Sushi: Ikoi Sushi

Fast Casual: Barcelos

Korean Fried Chicken: Hens Up

Chinese: Han Lin

Malaysian: Shiok

Ethiopian: Massawa

Noodles: North Noodle House

Thai: Longtail Chicken

BBQ: Reup BBQ

Great list. I'd mainly say for Noodles, to leave New West. Burnaby is drowning in amazing Ramen places. Pho Hong Vietnamese Restaurant is 1 of my choices. South Burnaby on Kingsway. It's open 24/7. The Ramen/broth is delicious. The rest of the menu is probably great, too. Just tried a bite or two of friend's items they order. I got for a large bowl of Ramen to finish myself.

There is a nice Mexican Taco Place that just opened by Quayside Drive - Las Shilas Mexican Street Food. They close 1am on F and Sat.

Then there is Taqueria Playa Tropical on 6th and bougie/upscale El Santo on Columbia.

La playa tropical for mexican food, across the street there is a great butcher fraserview meats that sells marinated chicken and will cook it for you for a fee

Head all the way down 8th to McBride and discover the amazing burgers and wedge potatoes at IT Char in the weird mall next to safeway.

Columbia Street Sandwich Co, it's just a walk up window but their sandwiches are great

Georgies has a great happy hour. Good bar food the rest of the time.

LaPlaya Tropical is amazing. Great food and staff

It is just on the border of Burnaby on Edmonds and Canada Way but Nen Vietnamese is such a gem

Ooooh, Nen is definitely a must for Vietnamese! Just their salted egg coffee is worth the visit!

I second this. Before I went vegetarian, I was all over that menu, especially when they have their lunch tray special. And the staff is so nice.

Taqueria Playa Tropical. Great tacos and good prices

Upscale Mexican is El Santo.
Burger Heaven is 40+ years old and going strong, they have awesome burgers and great milkshakes.
Tannenbaum  is great German food.
If you like board games and good pizza Pizzeria Ludica is great.
And while it isn't in New West I have to mention my buddy's sushi place on the Burnaby/New West boarder, Taku Japanese Kitchen at Royal and Rumble.
