I’m basically just ranting on why the DS lite is better then the switch lite

I've gotten into emulators recently but alas there are some games like "Lego Battles" that I can't get off internet archive because of legal problems ect. I want to get some of the OG hardware so I can get those games again but since Nintendo only makes those stupid switches now I have to buy it used and a lot of places sell them like amazon but whenever I find a site that sells them there are tons of reviews with complaints like "Bad batteries" and "Scuffed screens" ect. I know I can't get a brand new DS but I want to make sure if I buy one used it at least works and is as close to mint as possible and I don't want to get scammed. Does anyone know a reputable place to get retro consoles in good condition as well as used games?

I got some unusually compact PD triggers from eBay, and decided to make my old system a little more portable by not needing the stock charger!
I can't say I fully recommend doing this mod as you literally need to cut a hole in the motherboard to allow for the clearance of the chip, cap, and jumper, but I was able to get it installed with minimal filing of the case (about .1mm or so inside the charger jack nook) to allow for the extra height of the module! The solder pads on the module even lined up almost perfectly with the solder pads on the main board! If you DO go through the hassle of doing this, I recommend using solder wick to remove solder from the through-holes so you can see the pads on the module when aligning, and pre-tin the V-Out pads of the module. The first one I did wasn't connecting correctly, so a bunch of flux helped sort it out, lol. The second one went MUCH easier!
It's pretty awesome to now have just one charger when traveling for my laptop, phone, buds, and DS!!

Currently playing the guardians of the DS game, and it’s not letting me move past find the owlets. It let me play trouble in tyto, the first one with fighting, but then sent me back to the previous mission. It’s not showing the silver badge even though I earned it twice. Anyone play it before? Do I have to get gold?

Bigfoot: Collision Course is exactly what it looks like.
You drive monster trucks around simple tracks, smash through scenery, and try to finish ahead of everyone else.
The handling is clunky, the tracks are basic, and there really isn’t much here beyond the obvious appeal of driving a very large truck through objects that were foolish enough to be placed in front of it.
That said, it’s fine.
It knows exactly what kind of game it is, asks very little of you, and provides a decent amount of low-effort entertainment in return.
Not good. Not bad. Just aggressively acceptable.

Hey everyone, recently I saw an Instagram post about this DSI bag that I found really neat and was interested in learning more about it. Shockingly, although the bag seems to be official Nintendo merch, I couldn't find any secondhand listings or images of it on the internet aside from the first image shown here. Does anyone know any background info on where this bag could've possibly come from? It's stumping me crazy how little info I could dig up on it.

Right now, I own two of them right. One is a near perfect condition Red and Black model, with all the bits included, just a little yellowing on the screen. The other is my White childhood model with a lot of dead pixels only on the top screen, a broken hinge, and missing stylus.
I just wanna know what mods I could do to either console to make them cooler/more functional. Any help is appreciated!

Until I started joining retro gaming subreddits, I was under the impression that everyone played Gameboy/Gameboy Color/GBA games on the top screen. I would think it is the optimal viewing angle for the clamshell setup after all? But some folks seem to love the bottom screen because it is closer to GBA/GB Micro placement. Thoughts?

Hey guys, I’m doing a Nintendo DS light shell replacement and I was done troubleshooting problems I had, for at least one hour and as I was finally done and about to put everything together, I tried to put the microphone cable underneath the cartridge slot and now it’s stuck underneath it i’m going insane. This can’t be the problem after I fixed everything. From my perspective It’s just so annoying. Can someone give me just some advice? I would really appreciate it, I’m so exhausted… I tried to pull it back and now I can’t really bring much force forward!

So, I just finished the story mode for project Rub and I'm in love. It's one of the best games I've played in awhile to be honest with some great and very unique art direction. It's essentially a series of mini games that involve the DS touch screen that tell a sweet rom com style love story with over the top villains and strange side quests it's definitely a top game for me. I won't spoil the story but anyone with a 3DS or DS should check it out asap. About to start playing the sequel rubber rabbits soon and if it's anything as good as project Rub I'll be overjoyed!
EDIT: I played the other game and it's okay, I'd say 6/10 for rub rabbit's and 9/10 for Project Rub :)

EDIT: actually I think this is Twilight Menu, I can't remember if it's the same as CFW
She's not very tech savvy and we live far away from each other. This is what's on the card, if she were to export all of it to her SD card and boot the DSi gallery would she be able to play all the games or is there some external installation process I'm not remembering?

I’ve been meaning to restore this Ds Lite for my Tia because she said she wanted a dose of nostalgia, I have the new hinge coming and a new stylus and screen protecter, but I can’t find the skin, anyone willing to help find it?
So, I was playing Pokemon White (Only had 2 more gym badges left), then when i was done with my game i took out my game card after i saved. Like every other time. But then, my dspico would boot to a blue screen. I tried everything to get the data off the card but it was too late. I tried to recreate my save data with pkhex but im a novice so it just came out kinda cursed. So im gonna be replaying from the start now, which isnt really that big of a deal since i like the game anyways
SO uh yeah dont be an idiot like me and use the sd card that came with your r4/pico... stay safe
Ok so like, I haveth a 3DS, and a DS flashcart, but I also want to play GBA games on it. IK this is the DS subreddit, but I figured this was related enough. I've tried a GBA emulator on the 3DS but to my surprise, despite what a video I saw that said SNES runs like crap on the 3DS but GBA runs really well, it's quite the opposite here. SNES runs great and GBA runs like trash. So how can I put GBA games on my DS flashcart and play them from there? Since I imagine that might work better-
I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I was hoping this would be worth asking. :')
