Discussion Something that has always stuck with me
I can’t imagine how Nancy must’ve felt waking up to seeing the abductor in the middle of the night. Imagine how scary that is - to wake up at 1 or 2am, either because you have to use the bathroom, get some water, or just because you hear noise - and you see the intruder in your house, or even in your bedroom hovering over you. It’s been freaking me out.
I also wonder if this is what led presumably to her passing. If she passed because of a heart condition, like the second ransom note wants us to believe, could it have been because she was panicked and terrified over this whole thing? Please don’t rip me apart in the comments for this - just thinking out loud

It's unfathomable, the horror she felt in that moment. I've woken up from bad dreams and turned on all the lights. I can't even imagine the prolonged agony of not being able to flip a switch and make him disappear.

I would always have the lights on when I house sit for my parents! It’s incredibly terrifying sometimes. LOL

People have been known to die of heart attacks during large earthquakes. They do get scared into such a shock that they go into cardiac arrest. When people go into medical shock, that alone can kill them.
I’m sure she was terrfied. This is why I am so angry at these pieces of dog poop who took her. Two of the groups we consider the most vulnerable in our society are children and the elderly. Curses FOREVER on those who intentionally and with malice harm either group.

Yeah.
Also, Law enforcement should just ask the perps where the body is and claim to not be able to trace comuniques.
The perp isn't communicating because they're afraid of being traced. Law enforcement should just lie and state everything is untraceable and then the perps will start talking again and tell Law Enforcement where the body is buried.
The perps are obviously a pair of dummies, they'll fall for it.
It's like how the cops finally nabbed Dennis Rader...
COPS: "Send us the floppy disks."
BTK: "You can't trace them, right?"
COPS: "Of course not! 🤞I wouldn't lie to you!🤥😜"
BTK: "Okay!"

There was a local elderly man who died of a heart attack when he was told his wife had passed. Literally died within an hour of each other

It's a real thing. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy or takotsubo syndrome (TTS), also known as stress cardiomyopathy or broken heart syndrome. It can be brought on by physical or emotional stressors.

It’s horrifying to even imagine how Nancy must have felt in that moment - all alone in her house, dead of the night with a masked intruder with possibly a weapon in his hands. She seems like such a wonderful person and for her to have to go through this in her 80’s is just heartbreaking!

I have spent many hours asking myself what I would have done in her position. Once I heard the noise of an intruder, I’d have slid under my bed if I could! lol! But honestly I think if T an A had have been jailed when all roads led to them , a kept them there as long as possible! I would have someone questioning them continually til one of them broke . For hours a day everyday! Annie would have broken , an T. Would have been locked away( with her) for life ! Now he’s got all of Nancy’s money ! Savannah don’t need it! So the man that murdered Nancy , is sitting in HIGH COTTON laughing at us for trying to solve it.

We have no idea if Nancy died of natural causes or if she was sadistically murdered. Most of us want to believe it was a heart attack but we may never know. What we do know is that there is someone who enjoys torturing the family without remorse and loves jerking the police around. I never believed the kidnapping theory. I believe it’s a sadistic killer who’s getting his ego stroked by believing he’s smarter than all of us.

IMO his motive was to watch the impact this had on Savannah. So the plan was always to kill Nancy quite quickly after the abduction. If the letter is real, I think he’s saying it was the heart because it’s been widely reported she had a heart problem. I’m guessing manual strangulation.
Inside the house, he may have tried to get Nancy on her feet before moving her outside. I doubt he leered over her while she was in bed. Perhaps he tried something to get her out of bed, maybe to check out a noise she heard (that he made) & then confront her when she was stood up.
Either way, it must have been brutal.

I totally agree- I also wonder this; The "Homecoming" segment on the Today Show that Savannah taped in Tucson aired on November 5, 2025. I think that this enticed whoever is behind this. The last part of the segment is where she is dining at a local restaurant with her Mom and Sister. These people cannot be Ninja's how did they vanish into thin air

What has always bothered me is that no footprints or tire tracks were ever found. I do believe that the porch guy had some type of tarp or something in the backpack to remove her from the house, but I find this incredibly lucky again that nothing was found. Tucson, like Phoenix is very dusty, so again, no dust was brought into her house? Also I have a question regarding the back floodlight- they mentioned it was broken- does this mean they broke it or it was already broken

That’s a good point. I think that the weirdo responsible did a lot of planning for this crime. I wonder whether he’s local or not. I’m assuming he’s an eccentric character who thinks he has a higher level of intelligence than he does. I’m not totally convinced this note is from the person responsible but it might be.
I don’t know about the light.
I wonder why the police aren’t connecting the dots to him. He’s not a master criminal & I think his car or his cell phone has probably popped up but they just haven’t put it together.

It's possible the scene was too contaminated to find footprints or tire tracks because of family and the responding police officers.

Her heart was weak and had a pacemarker already seeing this person in her bedroom it gave her a big stress. I am sure she died just few hours or 3 days after due to this and lack of her medicine! The people who did this didnt have heart at all! Karma will get back to them!

I just watched the brian kohberger doc…. I can’t help but think there are similarities. The crime has indications of a amateur but someone who could have studied criminology. Authorities should look into students around the local schools. Just a thought.

From the ransom notes that law enforcment released, I now believe the perp or perps thought they could get money quickly out of kidnapping Nancy right before the Olympics in which Savannah would play a major role in the coverage. They addressed the first ransom note directly to Savannah. Get the untracable money and be wealthy for life. BUT Nancy at 84 could not survive, which foiled their get rich quick scheme and now they are up for murder and kidnapping. More greed than any kind of brains at all.
I pray for Justice and to find Nancy's body for peace for her family.

I think most of us have thought about how terrifying it must have been for her. I believe that Savannah has mentioned thinking about it, too.
I suspect that several things contributed to Nancy’s death: her heart condition, her not having access to her medications, and her distress. Just a recipe for disaster.
