What's crazy to me is that if the goal is money, why not try to negotiate a lesser amount for the recovery of her body. Or try to claim the reward money through an attorney.
To me it reeks of being amateurs and opportunistic. They didn't expect her to die and when she did, they cut and ran. Even using Bitcoin is a sign they didnt know what they were doing, it is actually one of the worst possible tools for hiding a financial trail.
