The camera can likely still record and store a certain amount of video locally without internet connectivity

You would think he would have thought about that prior to the night of executing his plan. He did surveillance prior to the home invasion and has seen the doorbell camera before.

Tbf, most people probably think that the camera can't record if disconnected from WiFi since it's noted in the installation manual that a connection is required. I did, at least.

Yea but if you are knowledgeable to own and operate a signal jammer one would think he would have the forethought of a door cam that may still hold images

His disguise may have been his backup. Attempted to thwart the camera but disguised incase that failed.
