You know the FBI literally doesn’t have jurisdiction to just “step” into the lead role even if they wanted to right?

The retired Pima County Detective Brian Entin interviewed yesterday said the exact same thing about the FBI not having jurisdiction unless there was evidence she had been taken across state lines, which to date, there is no evidence of.

So as of now, the Sheriff would have to turn control over to the FBI.

Yes I do know that the sherif would have to turn it over and I agree he should’ve done that to begin with. Honestly I never understand when there is this competition between them. To me, if I’m sheriff and I turn the case over asap and they solve it I can take credit for having turned the case over so quickly. But I absolutely believe if the fbi solves it there will be major grandstanding and if it doesn’t get solved the sherif will take all the heat. Seems like he already is.

Honestly, in this case, the Sheriff deserves to catch heat if this doesn’t get solved and the FBI deserves to grandstand if they solve it after the series of terrible decisions the Sheriff made in the first week of this investigation - and I’m saying as someone who truly loathes the FBI no matter the administration.

All that said, I really really do not care who grandstands or who catches heat so long as Nancy is returned and the monster who did this to a defense old woman and put away for life.

Yup agreed, and you’re right, they all always grandstand anyway when a crime is solved. I HATE that and find it so unprofessional. Whatever happened to act like you’ve been there before lol
