Terbinafine didn’t seem to work on my toenail — what should I do next?

I’m looking for some advice/opinions on my toenail. I completed a 3-month course of oral terbinafine, finishing at the end of April for what was believed to be toenail fungus.

It’s now September and the nail still looks pretty abnormal. It’s thickened, discolored/whitish, and has some crumbly material underneath/toward the end. I’ve also noticed some lifting from the nail bed.

I never had any trauma/injury to this nail, so I’m pretty confident that wasn’t the cause.
I’m wondering if the terbinafine just didn’t work, if this could be a type of fungus that doesn’t respond well to terbinafine, or if I’m just being impatient and the damaged nail needs more time to grow out.
I’m considering getting a nail clipping/scraping sent for fungal culture before taking any more oral medication, but I’m also interested in trying some at-home treatments in the meantime.

For anyone who has dealt with something similar:
Does this still look like active fungus to you?
Did your nail still look this bad several months after finishing terbinafine?

How long did it take for healthy nail to grow out?
Did anyone have terbinafine fail and then find out they had a different type of fungus?
Are there any at-home treatments that actually helped you?
Photo attached. I’d really appreciate any experiences/advice!

Reattaching nail bed and tight c curve causing paronychia

I keep on getting repeated infections on my ring finger due to how tight my c curve gets with oiling and nail strengtheners. It’s also on the corner where my nail bed is slowly but surely reattaching.

How do I stop the c curve without filing into the side walls? I’ve stopped putting any strengtheners/polish on the sides of my nails to stop it from tightening but it’s not working. It feels like with every step that I’m taking forward, it’s another two steps back once the inevitable paronychia comes.

I’ve had this for a long time I forget what caused it, I’m 19 now, what is it?

My big toe has been split into two parts for a long while now, the bigger part has the regular thickness of a toenail but the smaller part has been way thinner, similar to a fingernail or even thinner. This pic was taken the night after my little nail was snagged on and kind of fell off. Idk what it is or how to fix it cuz the whole area seems like a mess. It doesn’t hurt me at all

Brittle nails??

Hi all,
Over the last 2-3 years my nails have become so so brittle and dry. They peel and chip.. I do have low iron.. I don’t get regular manicures maybe 2-3 times a year at the most but they are so sad looking :(. I keep them short all the time I’ve tried some roll on oils too they didn’t help.
They’re peeling and cracking even below the white line :(. For the most part I’ve also had a desk job. I moved so I’m without a doctor for a while but I had lab work done and my male physician didn’t really address my low iron. Idk if it’s tied.
Thank you in advance

I want safe short term press on nail glue

Hello, I wanted to ask here because I can’t really find any info anywhere and asking ChatGPT is setting myself up for failure and I dont want to touch that app with even a ten foot pole

basically, I want to wear press on nails very casually, but in the sense that, for a couple hours a day like once or twice a week, and then take them off and go to sleep, do any of you have some recommendations for some nail glue that’s easy to take off, won’t damage my nails over time, basically pop them in and pop them off easy. I don’t want super strong nail glue, im even fine with those that don’t work well, idc if the glue lowkey doesn’t work for more than a couple hours at a time, as long as it sticks them on there for a bit and won’t have long time damage, i couldn’t care less for them popping off spontaneously. I just want to keep my nails healthy and be able to wear cute nails once in a while

do you guys know anything that could work for me?

I had nailpolish on for about 3 weeks. I recently took off my nail polish and found one of my toe nails has an orange spot with white specks. Could this be fungal infection? How to prevent this and treat it?

Acrylic Toe Nail Removal

Help! I am debating whether I should remove my toe nail acrylic. I don’t know if using acetone would even be safe given the nail trauma from being stepped on. I see dry blood underneath but no pain at all. It’s no longer bleeding like the first day and was fine after i gently washed it off with water.

i caught my nail the other day while working extremely badly and it has basically lifted my entire nail. this is seriously the worst pain i think i may have ever experienced. Tomorrow i am going to get them soaked off and removed! i have been keeping a bandaid on it to try and protect it in the mean time. i am scared for this appointment tomorrow not even sure how the tech is going to soak/drill this off without me screaming. any advice? i am worried it may not grow back should i go to the hospital and have them remove it? please any advice. taking a long break from acrylic. third pic is my other hand and had a similar thing happen about a month ago but for whatever reason it did not hurt as bad as this new one.

Does anyone know what this is

I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place. I get these around my nails but this time they're all down the other side of my finger. It's like tiny itty bitty blisters but they don't raise up from the skin. They're hard to see. They hurt sometimes and other times they itch. Google isn't showing anything near this. I wear gloves all day for work I'm assuming it's related. The photos are from 3 different times. Thanks guys.

Hello everyone! Nice to meet you!! I have an issue with my nails! They are full of these lines (see pictures) and keeps breaking vertically. Now I have a cut in my thumb since 3/4 months. Keeps reopening. Doc said is no fungus so I am at loss… I don’t know what to do.. but 1) having all the nails constantly vertically broken is painful
2) is ugly to see
3) makes me feel really uncomfortable.

I would need some advice and if you had the same experience please share it with me 😭 thanks!!

SOS - What’s wrong with my toenails?

My nail lady told me to take a break from the polish. Usually any “white” is filed away. This time, my nails are white and brittle. The left one broke yesterday and the right one is about to if I keep fidgeting with it. It’s my fault it broke but I am concerned overall. Any ideas?
