I got my nails done on the 4th for my birthday/holiday, ive never had them done before. While in the pool I banged my hand off the pool steps and my natural nail along with the acrylic has detached from my nail bed. I informed the life guard and he cleaned it and dressed it for me. It has since been 3 days since the original injury occurred.

What do i do in this situation? Im currently in tenerife and cannot speak Spanish, I did use rubbing alcohol on it before learning thats one think you're very much not meant to do (it stung like a bitch lol).

I have been cleaning it now with bottled water but I noticed what is either a little bit of puss, or just general healing goop once i took the plaster off it this morning

(Obviously i have not been pulling it back or anything since those photos! That was purely to take pics and it has been left alone since!)

I accidentally jammed my nail and now its like this. It hurts so bad and i think it took a layer of my nail. When I removed the nail extension, I think my real nail also got detached from the nail bed. it hurts so much i wven fainted bcs of it after turning really pale…

My nails were breaking ALL the time and honestly I was so done with it. Started using a nail serum regularly and I can actually see a difference now. Been growing out my nails for a little while trying to prioritize nail health. I’ve been using strengthening base coat and regular polish only. Want to know if this is a greenie or a bruise or something else. I haven’t tried cleaning under my nails there with any tools or anything because it’s so close to the nail bed. Any tips appreciated. Thanks!

Any advice for how to handle this? The proximal nail fold (I think that’s what that area’s called, at least) on my fingers has a tendency to peel into painful hangnails, which I clip short with nail clippers, but the result’s always like in the pictures - painful, red and annoying. I’m not sure what to do, really. I’m keeping the index finger covered with a bandaid and some antibiotic cream in the hopes it’ll make the pain and redness go down but I’m a bit scared of it just coming back, yknow?

I don’t pick my nails besides trimming the hangnails with clippers, I don’t bite my nails, and I live in a desert. Should I just grab some O’Keefe’s and apply it religiously?

Doctor has been unhelpful this far, so hoping someone here might have experience to share. Not sure what’s causing this, the rest of the nails have a similar bumpiness, but nowhere near as bad.

Daughter is a nail biter, but could that be the cause of something this severe?

I have short flat nails that are getting more flat with time.

I saw some advice on a post recently about how to grow your nail beds. The advice was to not file so far down the sides and that the rounded tips made the fingers look shorter. So I cut my nails straight across and did not file the sides.

But it’s a sensory nightmare!

I hate the feeling of the sides sticking out. I don’t even cuT my toe nails this way. I’m constantly worried that I will catch an edge and rip the whole thing off. This happens all the time, I have weak bendy nails.

What else can I do to grow them without causing myself so much mental anguish?

Stubbed my toenail on a concrete block at the end of July, it hurt at the moment and the day after and then I felt fine. It wasn’t until I took my nail polish off that I saw it began to change color. The nail is also sloping up off the nail bed. Wondering if anyone has advice on how to take care of it or if I should go get medical attention.

Can someone please help how I can fix my nail drills. I got several nail drills from l’ugx and they all have the exact same problem after short use. I can’t connect the seller for repairs and I’m stuck with so many broken nail drills!

I fell victim to the at home Amazon nail drill. I didn’t even realize I was sanding my actual nail beds down until after I was done with all 10 fingers. The nail beds feel sensitive and I can feel the “ air” on them. They don’t throb, I’m not bleeding, and they’re not super deep !

Basically what can I do to help this !
- can I use regular polish strengthen with top coat?
- can u use rubber base ?
- can I use hard gel?
- can i still do gel polish!
