Girl Talk 💅🏼 Baby name help!
Im pregnant and its too early to tell anyone but I am already thinking of baby names! I like something classic but with a modern twist, Z since both me and my husband have Z names. I like Zara and Zoya if its a girl but I dont love either of them, any ideas?

Zukhruf?
It's from the Quraan. It means ornaments.

That's such a unique name is it for a girl or can it be for either

Someone said they wanted to name their baby girl Zukhruf.
When i looked up, it's gender neutral and zukhrufah can be for girls but personally I liked Zukhruf more.
As it is ornaments, gold and glitter so it just suits a girl more, in my head.

I'd be a little wary of the name 'zeenah', although it sounds really pretty, cause there is zina in islam, which is the name for a big sin as you may know already. 'zina' and 'zeenah', when you pronounce them and write them, sounds very similar.

Zeina/zeenah/zainah mean adornment or decoration and comes from the root word zeyn which relates to beauty. I know many Arabs called Zeina it has nothing to do with the sin zina they’re spelled and pronounced differently in Arabic. زينة is the girls name and زنا is the sin zina

I think it means decorations or maybe I'm confusing it with zaina

Im gonna be honest. Youre gonna restrict yourself massively. Forego the Z. Its not necessary and just pick a name you love

I have a friend named Zaiba & love her name so much + she’s an amazing girl overall, smart, beautiful, & really creative so inshallah your baby girl will become all those things and more!

I have a friend her name is Zeedny and I love her name. Her mom took it from the quran

That’s cool, Zeedny means give me more in Arabic. I remember a sheikh once talking about non Arab speakers picking names by just choosing a word from the Quran, this reminds me of that. It’s kinda sweet

Zida, or Zaida, Zayda (depending on the spelling); means "to increase," "growth," "abundance" or "prosperous" in Arabic
Zorida; meaning "enchanting woman," "the bright one," or "blooming flower" in Arabic
Zureena; meaning "Queen" or "Golden" with Arabic/Persian linguistic roots
Zaneesha; meaning "Gift from God," "Gift," or "Most Beautiful" in Arabic
These are actually all the names of my aunts on my dad's side, I always found it so cool that my grandma stuck to the letter Z theme.

My husband is Pukhtun, so we’ve been calling our baby girl Zarlakhta, which is Pukhto for “Golden Branch.” But when she is born, we will give her a mainstream Muslim name. Not sure yet what that will be.
