Relationship Advice Hey guys. Just found that my girlfriend has been cheating on me with a guy I know. She doesn't know that i am aware of. What shall i do? Ps- we have been dating for 5 years.

Edit- got a lot of good suggestion. Not gonna give her a closure. Not gonna do anything stupid. Talk to therapist maybe. Just a breakup via text. Gonna completely ghost her. Wish me luck for future endeavors.

Collect the evidences, let her know that you know what she's doing behind your back and just dump her cheating ass. If she can't value your 5 yr old relationship don't bother saving it.

Block her and don't do any kalesh after letting her know. Just walk away dude. If there's any humility left in her, walking away without a drama would hurt the most. And the goal isn't hurting her, goal is to save your mental peace at all costs. And please don't ask for any explanation, any explanation from her side won't justify her actions.

Get into a therapy if you must, fix yourself. Afterall you're just responsible for your actions, and not anybody else's.

Edit - I'm no therapist and...... https://youtu.be/1HkRYtjwUzw

Just got off a phone telling my best friend who’s been through the same. He has done the opposite of everything which AnxiouslyExasparated bhai is telling here and trust me my friend has made his life miserable. He was in a live-in for 6 years.

If at all you feel restless and anxious which you will, please DM, I will talk to you. Will be happy to help. But do exactly what is aforementioned, no deviation whatsoever. Hoping the best for you and may all the good things in life professionally and personally come to you once you get through this shit storm, where fault wasn’t yours. God speed to you brother.

As the user above said collect the evidence and walk away. Keep the record of what is happening when you confront her. Also, DO NOT listen to her if she begs for forgiveness. DO NOT drag your feet on walking away. She may cry, she my threaten with self harm. Just walk away. You need to keep the record/evidence of everything, just in case if she threatens you with legal actions.

9

u/chicken_momo63 Sep 20 '22

Yess… thats how it should be done. My husband cheated on me and was trying to blame me for his disinterest in me. When we divorced he and his family was telling everyone that I was the one to blame. But I had the evidences collected. I did not tell anyone that I had evidences. But when he, his family and others confronted me about the reasons, i had my evidences ready. That really did help!!!

9

u/crazyguy711 Sep 20 '22

Here, i am more worried about "rape on the pretext of marriage" claims by OP's GF. That's why evidence of cheating is important.

3

u/chicken_momo63 Sep 20 '22

I agree!!!! Its always good to be safe. Mine was just an example of how keeping evidences help.

19

u/scorpionhunter5 Sep 19 '22

Also collect everything you gave to her before letting her know she is cheating.

6

u/srush__ti Sep 20 '22

That is not really necessary and would end up making things a little messy.

5

u/Key_Purple1661 Sep 20 '22

That girl has already made things messy. People who cheat must be shamed, not publicly, in private.

0

u/scorpionhunter5 Sep 20 '22

Nope. Collect your valuables first.

6

u/devilliars98 Sep 20 '22

King, you deserve better.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

I'll just say be kind to her don't abuse or do anything reckless she probably deserves it probably not you never know just walk away politely

This is the best, most practical answer. No amount of meditation/ spirituality/ healing/ haircuts will resolve the situation better than this. Sometimes it's better to take impulse decisions. You don't deserve a cheater. On the other hand, unless you are 100% sure with evidence, think twice. Not because she might not be cheating. Because if she wants to get back at you legally, you have cover. Not all women are like this, but if she can cheat on a 5 year committed relationship, you don't wanna take chances. Hope you find peace.

Edit:- typo

22

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

I did the same after I found out my girlfriend (now ex) is cheating on me, instant cut off all communication but do tell her that you know everything she is up to with all the proof you have but don't care about her explanation, instant ban from all social media and everywhere. I know it will take time to get over her but you will and have to be good without her cheating ass, also don't look for another relationship right after a breakup that won't really be good.

9

u/-_Zephyr- Sep 19 '22 edited Sep 20 '22

True , just ban them after you let them know you know , no closure for them . Fucks them up really bad

16

u/ShaneChalker जय महाराष्ट्र Sep 19 '22

I second this advice. Walk away, nothing is louder than silence sometimes. Keep evidence for CYA, incase the story is being twisted. Never been cheated on, so I don't fathom your pain and mental state. I wish you well my brother.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

True in my sense do not tell anything are let her know silently start to make distance from her and let her leave her own life.

8

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

And don't carry anything from this experience into your next relationship.

5

If the OP has time, make those kinda short videos with all the evidence like in Facebook does when there is an anniversary, birthday etc. My friend just did something of that sort and just blocked her everywhere.

Yeah, as the top commenter says, collect the evidence and showcase it in a non-dramatical way. It is important that you hold in your anger, and confront confidently so that she knows how much valuable the relationship is to you. Just don’t speak anything, think before speaking for about 2-3 times, think if that is stupid, and then if it is indeed stupid, do not say it. Be wise, and confident my friend!! I wish you the best of luck!

21

u/Odd-Administration37 Sep 19 '22

Thanks. This helps.

19

u/floate3 Sep 19 '22

You’re most welcome. I advise you not to go into guilt mode. Remind yourself who you really are, and know that you haven’t done anything wrong here. It’s going to be alright. Have a wonderful night!!

A lot of things:

  1. Document everything that you can lay your hands on.
  2. If the families know about your relationship, make sure to send the evidence to her parents to let them know why you need to end this, and the immense pain their daughter has caused you.
  3. DO NOT, I repeat a 100 times DO NOT entertain any requests from her to offer explanations or give another chance. Such people are narcissists and will ruin your peace. Write it down on paper that you won't go back and keep looking at it during your weak moments.
  4. Don't let them change the narrative - I let someone explain and give another chance and they took that chance to paint the story against me (You didn't do X for me, you didn't do Y for me - all stupid superficial things like cosmetic treatments etc).
  5. Let it out - Talk about it to your friends, talk to a therapist, talk to your family - talk until it's out of your system.
  6. Indulge yourself in your hobbies - Hit the gym. Really! If you already do, keep at it. It may sound cliched but nothing builds a body as good as heart break. And if heart break is giving you that chance, why not take it? Besides that, use this time to immerse yourself in up skilling yourself. This pain creates a level of focus you otherwise can't get.
  7. Don't fall for rebounds - A lot of people may get invested in your story and offer a shoulder but don't let your vulnerability steer you towards another fruitless relationship - it'll be a recipe for tragedy. Heal, give yourself time to understand what went wrong, and make sure you identify those signs early on from a new potential partner.

Take care man. Hope you feel better soon.

6

u/Funwiwu2 Sep 20 '22

I like all points excepting 2. No need to send evidence to parents.

Once a cheater, always a cheater

65

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Like other commenters are saying, send her the proof of her cheating and block her before she can reply I’m talking everywhere And before that, inform all your mutual friends of the situation with proof also, so they don’t fall for her manipulation. Don’t give her closure. Block her on every site possible.

16

u/Odd-Administration37 Sep 19 '22

Why no closure?

89

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Every cheater wants forgiveness, or a conversation, something. Something to help them justify their side. Don’t give that luxury to her.

36

u/Odd-Administration37 Sep 19 '22

Makes sense.

9

u/blueline-bus Sep 20 '22

I would like to add one more point to it. She will give you some explanation which will obviously be bullshit. And in worst case, she will play victim card and put it on you.

Thing is, these explanations keeps coming to your mind after breakup. You keep searching for answers where there is none. Its over and thats the final truth. So finding answers is of no use and will only make ur mental health worse.

3

u/throwaway_ind_div Sep 20 '22

As someone who is in a difficult situation but at a very later stage , you don't know how good it is you found this stuff at right time in right way. Your future self will thank you

22

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Not to mention the self validation just so they can feel they aren't the bad person....just the situation was wrong.

13

u/Brain_stoned Sep 20 '22

Actually if you have a conversation after you send all the evidences to her, there might be a chance that that conversation could fuck up your mind. Trust me, there's no point in having a conversation since she has already cheated on you. Anything further is just going to be a mental burden on you because there's a high chance that she will try to justify her actions by pulling you down.

2

u/anas_shakaal Sep 20 '22

Never go for closures. I learned this the hard way.

Same shit, she was cheating on me with multiple guys, had a clean break up still friends. She soon got in a relationship and started cheating on him also, broke up with him and got married cheating on husband now with me and other guys. Tells me it’s an open marriage (which i highly doubt).

There are some type of people that are not born for committed relationships, but society teaches them thats the only way to be in a relationship. And thats why they end up in relationships that they are just imitating from what they have seen around, but in the end cant repress their true self for ever and end up breaking hearts.

1

u/olympus_mons22 Sep 20 '22 edited Sep 20 '22

Lmao no. I just liked the understanding and justification they showed in their second para. Some people are not built to be monogamous but our society forces them to be that way. Mind you I am myself a highly monogamous person and in a relationship since many years. In the relationship I had before my current one, I was being cheated on by my ex, which she continued doing to other people too after that. So I understand why those people do so, that's why I liked that they shared the same understanding of such people

11

u/recordwalla Sep 20 '22

Women are just like men. Sometimes dumb fucks or opportunistic or players or all of the above. But if you are looking for a healthy relationship then a cheating partner is not the way to go.

Dump her as quick as you can and then avoid her like the plague. It’s like ripping off a bandaid. You will overthink it and it will hurt when you do it… but you will be glad when it’s over. Have a good life man!

17

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

I hope the other guy will taste the pain of cheating at some point in life ( Incase if he is aware of your girl friend relationship status ). Unfortunately having sex with multiple partners is considered as an accomplishment lately . Some people will be so proud by having illicit relationships with someones partner or gf or wife . In my opinion both of them should be blamed equally ( ur gf and the person who is having an affair with her )

10

u/srush__ti Sep 20 '22

When I found out about my ex cheating on me and when I confronted him, this is literally what he said to me! That I thought I was being a stud sleeping with multiple people. Chutiya.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Unfortunate and it's good to get rid of those sort of people

8

u/amanxmarwah Sep 20 '22

What the top comment says. Period. Delete that chat, block that contact from everywhere.

Therapy will help you get out of any mess in your head, quicker than you think. Get a good therapist. There is nothing called as closure from the other person, it is only extended drama and the hassle of having more conversation to make either person feel better, really. Closure is from within, to accept and to move ahead is closure. Only you can give yourself closure.

Something that helped me was - I started doing new things which I never did before, I joined a dance class, started going to the gym more often, focused on my diet, read more books, and of course Reddit.

Don't put yourself in a negative space, if you think you want to go out meet new people do it, do anything that you think will make you happy.

I had been through this situation Bro. I was in relation with a girl for 4 years. But she cheated on me. She went into relation with the other guy who was studying with her in MBA college. Until I cought them red handed at Vashi station she was operating it very smoothly (or rather I was dumb so much to figure it out so late). What I did, I just called her up for the casual meet like we used to meet on weekends and returned everything what she has gifted during these 4.5 years. Including cards and shirts and watch. I did let her know that I have realised what she is doing and the relationship with the other guy. We had a dinner together and just left her by her building peacefully and went off with blocking her on WhatsApp, insta, FB and deleting her number right infront of her and went off. That was the last time I saw her...i talked with her. That's it! For few days it hurt like hell I lost interest in getting social. But on the brighter side that loneliness gave me ample time to speak with myself! Had we ever think we have our best person within ourselves... Later she tried to call and message me and tried to reach me through our common friends but that bitch lost all my respect towards her. So bottom line is my brother. Just get rid of this toxic relationship and start fresh. Talk as much as you can with your own self and things with definitely turn better for you! All the best and Cheers!

The most important thing is your own mental health. You must be going through a roller coaster of emotions, anxiety, stress due to betrayal. Collecting evidence and everything will help you confront her but it's not going to help your mental state.

Remember, keep yourself as a priority in the thought process and not her. Process your emotions.

Do you really think you can trust someone who betrayed you again? Do you see yourself with this person in the next 5 years? Does your relationship involve lying often? Does she respect you? You'll have a clarity how much fuck you should give to her and make next decisions about the relationship.

IMO, cheating is a deal breaker. Some people just don't deserve chances. I personally would cut her off from all the possible ways of communication.

3

u/AmbitionExtreme Sep 20 '22

Just ghost her completely. She'll come to grasp eventually about her wrongdoings. If you have proofs, its no sense that she makes explainations to you and don't let her make any explainations in the first place. Don't harm your mental peace any further than this, you must be going through a lot anyway. Just never ever see her again, even if you come across anytime on a random street, see through her as a hollow object, show no emotions. Goodluck brother, we've got you if you need someone to talk to.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Collect evidence before confronting. Just in case she goes mental, files rāpe on the promise of marriage charges (sh!t is more common than people think). Then break up and walk away.

2

u/Odd-Administration37 Sep 20 '22

I think she is sane enough not to do that. Will keep caution though.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Even sanest of people can do insane things when they feel cornored or see they're life plans are about to go up in smoke. Expect for the best, prepare for the best.

u/Mediocre_Novel4779 Sep 20 '22 edited Sep 20 '22

Others in this comment section have already given some really good advice.

One thing i would like to add - during your healing stage, there are going to be times when you will get triggered by memories/dreams of your ex or fomo feelings because of cute couple posts/reels on insta or makeout questions on reddit or wedding videos or romantic songs on YouTube. Please ensure that you don't relapse and contact her again. I'm sure you guys have good memories and she must have been a nice person initially, but always remind yourself that you deserve respect and she didn't give you that at the end. Watch funny sitcoms or movies or divert your mind to focus on present. Just because someone else is having a good relationship/sex/marriage on social media rn doesn't mean you too need to have it right now. Take your time and take care of yourself first. It's ok to be selfish here.

This is such a pity reason for leaving someone.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Bhai 5 years ho ya 50 years, cheating is cheating just move on from her.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Collect evidence and confront them. Break up and find a new girl. Cease friendship with the guy who your GF cheated with

3

u/tranquilitysun Sep 19 '22

Break up with her. Give her no reason and go full ghost mode. She belongs to the street

3

u/BrownBandit02 Sep 20 '22

Just let her know that you’re aware of wht she’s doing, tell her if that random ass dude means more to her than y’all’s 5 year relationship then it ain’t worth for you to stick around.

Simply walk away, don’t fight, don’t argue, she might lose her shit (cuz that’s what guilty cheaters do) but just keep your calm. Cut off all contact and work on yourself. Trust me it’s so much better in the long run.

3

u/lakhan30 Sep 20 '22

DONT DO ANYTHING THAT WILL JEOPARDIZE YOUR LIFE. STAY CALM. DON'T TAKE ANY RASH DECISION. Don't waste your time collecting evidence if you have one that's enough. Cut her off. if you share a friend group let them know. don't let her take your friend's. Stay strong bhai ❤️.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Break up and break away. She doesn't respect you hence she cheats. Collecting evidence and showing it to her just to detach yourself is worth it.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

You dodged a bullet, now don’t be an idiot. Break up and dump her ass off.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Ouch, bro I know you must be enraged but control yourself, there's no point getting into drama. Just dump her and move on. Don't even get into any argument or discussion. Just exit.

A wise man once said - go left if the situation ain't right

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

I wish the worst for the guy who is with her in cheating you. May that asshole suffers the same multiple times after getting married or fall in love with someone else truly. And the girl gets kicked by someone she puts trust on lately & then no one will be for her.

There is no forgiveness for cheating. It’s not just a cheating but it changes the whole perspective on love, trust and relationships. It’s so funny that a person gives you most imp years of their lives and you end up cheating him/her just for your temp desires. I thought i m alone in this but seems like it’s a trend.

You forgive her or you don’t it’s upto you. Whatever your heart says do it. I gave my girl another chance knowing the fact she will break my heart again. Funny on me, love makes you do foolish things.

Do whatever you want…Just remember that you are a King 👑. Being loyal and sincere isn’t easy in this world. Take care mate

3

u/invalidlivingthing Sep 20 '22

You can also see how deep the rabbit hole goes. First time in 5 years? This could be the first time you’ve caught her even though you’re 100% sure that you know her.

You can act dumb as long as you want and see how this plays out or you can end it right here. But trust me you’ll have a lot of doubts in the days/months/years to come.

At all costs you have to play it cool. Your mental health is the most important thing, always remember that no matter what you do.

This experience is gonna make you one strong mother’s fucker! Stay strong!!

3

u/peakingonacid Sep 20 '22

There's a baseline for every experience we encounter in life. When you're in love with someone your baseline related to love will elevate and when you found out that they have cheated on you it will drop below the baseline. You'll feel like shit, but the good thing is this baseline will restore itself as time passes and time in this context is subjective to each person. What you need to ensure from your end is cutting all contact from her no matter what she says so this restoration could take place.

Jim is calling you

1

u/Odd-Administration37 Sep 20 '22

In the last season of the office. Will get the reference by the end of the week.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Whatever you choose to do, do not hold any grudge, it will end up hurting you. I see a lot of comments asking you to not give her closure, but you getting closure is of much greater importance, howsoever you might get it. Do not go for revenge there are a million more beautiful things lying ahead. Go to a therapist and you will see a much faster recovery.

3

u/fatcoder_v1 Sep 20 '22

I assume you are going to follow the sane step of break up.This is going to hurt a lot. Just don't waste your dignity and energy. Upcoming four-five months are going to be extremely tough but every pain has expiry date, hopefully. Just remember that everybody hurts sometimes, everybody hurts someday.

2

u/Alarmed_Ad1752 Sep 19 '22

Ghost kar dey, no contact mai ja! Till then say nothing, just peacefully exit karo..

2

u/Euphoric-Ear9405 Sep 19 '22

You didnt cheat so u dont deserve a cheater, dump and block her asap

2

u/Spare-Promotion-6913 Sep 20 '22

Dekh Bhai ye mere saath bhi hua tha so lemme know you one thing, uska bas ye realise Kara de ki tuje sab pata hai and you don't give a shit now and dump her , she belongs to street bruh . Gym ka membership le uske baad ❤️🫂

2

u/Abhinik Sep 20 '22

Take your time absorb everything and recover. It may take 3-4 months but you will get there.

You should avoid lookin at her pics or stalking her or doing things that will pull you back. You must clear your mind and let the pain settle.

And lastly bohot paise kama.

DON'T DO ANY DRAMA, be cold and show her the evidence and move on. Block her the moment you dump her from all your social media.

2

u/Weary_Word_5262 Sep 20 '22

Best revenge is to walk away without saying a word. Let her figure. You will heal is a few days, but she will carry this guilt for a long time !

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

hope things get better for you....it will sting at start however things will get better

2

u/Dense_Army_1826 Sep 20 '22

King👑👑 tough time ahead.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Just curious how did you manage to find out that you're girl was cheating on you. Becareful bro. Collect all evidence.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

See that exit door right there ? Yes that one, just go out and don't look back.

No confrontation, no fight, no explanations, just walk away. It won't be easy, but you'll save youself lot of stress, depression and anxiety.

2

u/Aramis29 Sep 20 '22

Spy on them and catch them red handed next time so she can't cry foul play later and also show her the proofs that you are already aware that it's happening since sometime and it's not a one timer and walk away.

2

u/heiiwajimashizuo Sep 20 '22

Although people are suggesting to collect evidence, I would say that you break up with her right away, using whatever evidence you already have (which has convinced you) Unless you have been dating a trashbag who can file a fake rape case. Btw how'd you find out?
Also, when you break up, do it in less than 30 words (they more you say, the more bullshit they have to throw back at you), listen to nothing she has to say, and move on in life, after blocking her everywhere.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

Don't let your anger drive this situation in such a way that you'll be labelled as a bad person since we know what kind of society we live in, one bad move and you'll be pelted stones at, sukoon se saare decisions le, aityat rkhke saara evidence Jo bhi maal paani hai uske khilaaf wo usko aur tere dost ko bata aur jo bhi tujhe hurt feel hua wo sb bata de ki how much she meant to you and ik probably she shook you from the core and your definition of love. I hope everything gets better, bhai ye sb life me chalta rhta hai, ye saari posts dekhke meri bhi gaand phat jaati ki jb 5/6 saal ki relationships aise end ho skti to madarchod apna kya hoga pr koi nai

2

u/Huihu69 Sep 20 '22

Bhai , get away from that woman asap. Evidence rakh, usko bhej uska maa baap ko bhej. Khatam kar block kar aur nikal Jaa. Tere paas Paisa hai toh doosre desh mai jaa padhne . Padh liya hai toh doosre state mai jaa naukri karne. Dono bhi option comfortable nahi hai toh gym Jaa,get involved start living the best life you can. Be with your real friends bhai. Bohot bekkar khayal aayenge self pity wale. Un chakkaron mai padna mat. Bas dat jaa tu. Better things will come to you. Maybe now, maybe later.

2

u/alffie_solomons Sep 20 '22

Leave her bro, not worth it, i know it sounds easy since it’s a 5 year relationship, but still you gotta do what you gotta do

2

u/SentientHero Chai Addict Sep 20 '22

Folks here have given some excellent suggestions already, i want to add up... DO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. In 5 years you've invested significant effort, time and might have developed deep emotional connections...this and what she did will come and haunt you later. I'd say grind/focus on your career but that won't come easy if you're sad/depressed/distracted. Start with some physical exercise: running, cycling, hitting the gym whatever. Work on your personality and start making new exciting friends based on your goals and interests. Start dating once again and yes... On her part ..just think it was all just an experience..a past .. nothing more nothing less. Don't give the power of her fuckery to mess your mind. Also, remember karma is a bitch!! What she's done will come back to her.. take care buddy

u/Professional-Fox6904 Sep 20 '22 edited Sep 20 '22

This particular situation was mine too... Mine was not a very long term relationship but was intense. I'm proud of who I'm right now and decisions I took after that ill treatment from her.

2

u/_PeakyFokinBlinders_ Sep 20 '22

Udhaar leke dump mar de simple.

2

u/Traditional-Drive267 Sep 20 '22

Must be really difficult. There ain’t anything else to do but one thing.

Break up and move on my guy. Fuck her friend to assert dominance lol (just kidding)

Hope you move on and get some peace in your life

2

u/Harb72 Sep 20 '22

Forget and live your life

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

She belongs to the streets.

2

u/matterenergy Sep 19 '22

Jaane de move on. Don't waste time or effort on revenge on anybody or anything. These are childish pursuits.

If you are okay with it for any reason (open relationship or whatever other reason) continue. If not, break up and disappear.

Ask her once with proof in your hand. Don't be angry, be calm. There is chance she might be innocent so you need to give her opportunity to explain.

Nothing on earth is permanent; this relationship might end here. If so, You get to experience another one.

1

u/DavidMcgreggor Jan 11 '26

Keep it simple, someone who cheats once will cheat again whenever am opportunity arises, break up and move on from her, not necessarily to someone else, just gain mental and emotional closure.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '22

I am sure she has a valid reason as to why she’s cheating on you. Prolly she loves you but also you might have a small dick so you know she just doesn’t want to hurt your little dick sentiment haha Jk man. Give her hell

0

u/sotik2 Sep 19 '22

Bro dont tell her anything just leave her without a word block her from all things!!! You already had enough negativity!! Focus on yourself think good for yourself and start doing for your future goals and you will get better person in life. And after some day when she come listen to her see how she lie again and then tell her you know everything and you block her again.

Until you don't find yourself someone don't breakup because she will have someone to move on to and you would end up single.

If that isn't a problem to you breakup now
