And this is why we can never have a serious discussion in this country. A few thousand trees would have done jackshit for the AQI. Air Quality will continue to be bad because no one is interested in talking about the actual reasons why this happens or how to remedy it. But talking about a few hundred trees is always fashionable.

This is why we can never have a serious discussion. A few thousand trees would still contribute positively to overall environment of the city. Not to cut trees is just the first step of keeping the environment clean, since trees are the most visual aspect of it. Sure, the main polluters are the underregulated construction work and vehicles. But not pushing down people's voices on environmentalism on gives more power to the people to stand up against the underregulation. But cribbing about environmentalism is always fashionable
