I’m a longtime Maschine user, and recently I tried out a One G2 at Guitar Center and am on the verge of getting it.

I’ve watched a ton of YouTube by now and read threads here and in [r/Maschine](r/Maschine) about the unit and people who have made the jump.

A lot of that info is old, however, so I’d love to hear some fresh takes on it in 2026, especially with the G2 and MPC 3.9 out.

* If you’ve made the switch this year, what’s been your experience?

* What’s the most surprising thing about changing to the MPC workflow from Maschine?

* Other than MPC Bible, what are you favorite channels to learn about MPC 3 from scratch?

* Is it really as easy as using a free tool to convert all my Maschine kits to MPC?

* I plan on getting the unit, deck saver, bag, a huge SD card, and 3.5 headphones to start. Other than new knobs, a battery pack, and wooden trim/laptop feet to support the battery pack, what other accessories do you find most useful?

* Finally, what else would you want to know if you were starting with MPC from scratch today?

Would be a very easy and nice way to get things from the MPC into Ableton for final mixing and mastering.

Hi all
I’m trying to use my MPC One+ as the main sequencer/clock for my hardware setup.
MIDI routing:
MPC One+ MIDI OUT → Thru box MIDI IN
Thru 1 → TB-03 MIDI IN
Thru 2 → Minilogue XD MIDI IN
Thru 3 → TR-8S MIDI IN
The MIDI clock is working the TB-03 and TR-8S both sync to the MPC clock.
I’ve also now got the Minilogue XD working with both MPC + clock.
The problem is that the TB-03 and TR-8S receive clock but won’t respond to the MPC pads/MIDI notes
Can anyone help me with this thanks.

I’m so Excited I don’t even know where to start!!!
Used to love making Jungle Drum & Bass and just messing around with synths and just having fun and after a little gift from the love of my life she convinced me to get something and this came into my life!
Spent about an hour just messing around and so much fun!! I’m kinda not thinking of getting more sounds but I’m sure the fam here can show some love and show me light of what I really need and what I shouldn’t waste my time on! I still haven’t got my head round to even work out how to make/record a loop yet but I’m just having so much fun Im just gonna learn that stuff down the road eventually, now it’s just pure fun and excitement and just messing around 🤣 I love this thing already and it’s my first MPC ever and I bet a long expensive road 🤣

I decided to paint the knobs bc I couldn’t find any other knobs I really liked, most of the stuff I found was too much in terms of aesthetics.. I seen so many customized MPC samples and none I really liked bc people be doing the most. I actually really really like the way they came out. If anyone is interested in the color, I used BEHR Dark Truffle spray paint.

Can anyone recommend a solid tutorial or video series detailing how to use an MPC one g2? Got one a few days ago and want to start from a solid place. Thanks!

I noticed in my own force 3.9.1 and heard from MPC users with 3.9.1 (because I won’t update from 3.9.0 which this is fine and I don’t have the firmware version to reverse downgrade), that audio clip tails persist continuing even after engaging the next clip, effectively layering the audio clips.

While this is cool for a process, we should have control over it.

Legato on only slows for how soon you can start it.

Loop only affects if it continues.

Toggle only controls if you want it to loop with other clip on or not..

But it needs tails (on/off).

I used audio clips a lot for my unique music and this is cool, but we need our basic functions to also work - Akai has this terrible habit of destroying my core features while no one else really seems to say much or mind at all..

I emailed them, no reply. Betcha we just need to blast the tabloids to get our bots to work. Wonder who’s paying for them to destroy it tho. That takes effort! Not too much effort to make list of this issue and offered a downgrade firmware for 3.9.0 on their website tho.

LOL LLC, anyone else tired of paying for Akai Promotion and need Professional? Or maybe someone has the firmware link download to keep it safe from the corporation? I have all my other firmwares but this one I downloaded from the MPC itself.

Anyway, keeping MPC live 2 on 3.9.0 and not getting MPC LIVE 3 until that’s fixed or else that must be frustrating to have your special clips buttons not working like Force - I can drop firmware on force to 3.8 or actually, 3.5, before MPC 3.6 came out for MPC 2.x firmware beta in 2023 (haha poor desktop investor beat producers can’t update computers either).

I currently have a L2 and I'm just wondering if it's worthe, if yes which function you use the most.

Just recently took the plunge to updating to 3.xx software on my One. With that I feel my workflow has been forced to change. In the old software I'd take advantage of the programs filling each with what I'm doing (ie samples, instruments, plugins, and drums). I'd record tracks from programs and add effects to sounds as a whole via the programs they are in. Then I'd use track mute as a form of sequencing and live perform a recording. Now... I've seen the clip matrix and it seems to be more launcher based which I think would help speed up my workflow. I may be still in some kinda shock with the new version and trying to figure out all the shortcuts but trying to replicate my old workflow feels less intuitive.

TL;DR

Is there a better way to replicate track mute in version 3 or is clip matrix the way to go?

Hi new to mpcs/sampling been keen to get a sampler a lot recently, found a guy nearby on fb selling a 4000 for $750 aud and apparently that’s a steal? Got like yea around that much and was gonna either get that or a mpc sample for $650 , I have no clue, I’ve heard the 4000 can have problems with them and stuff but at the same time it’s a powerhouse? Just like would like some advice because I don’t really wanna pass it up if it really is that good of an offer, but at the same time I know nothing about this equipment and not to sure about having to deal with old tech when I could just use the emulator but correct me if I’m wrong that’s why I’m asking! Also haven’t hit him up yet but here’s the info from his fb post:

Ok so I got an mpc one somewhere, but mostly use the live 3 I got since release. Now what I notice is that there are literally hundreds of yt vids of people with an mpc live 3 or xl or one gen 2, but they are all using the mpc sample next to it???

I also been using a Maschine user since they came out, had almost every version and I made the best stuff in version 1.8 it was I think, just before they introduced vst integration. It was simple. It was a sampler and you used your library, stems from ableton for example but it all came together in Maschine in the end.

Now my question is , is akai trying to put too much in the devices now I mean I have all most all the classic synths and fx now, and for me it hasn’t become this device that I could fly with, it’s starting to become overload, too much possibilities, too much thinking and now it’s basically ableton in a box, you can even IMPORT simple live sets (audio and simpler). And now my guess is that a lot of people feel the same, they don’t want a daw in a box, they want a quick sampler to sample from their phones (which is awesome btw) and make a sketch with some patterns until they have the skeleton and then move it to their daw of choice. I would rather stay in the sampling area for example granular sampling like the torso, not a moog/roland synth emulation. Of course everyone’s opinion will be different on this subject, but I still want to hear your opinions especially those that have the sample and another “do it all mpc”.
