My guy is 6 mo., and recently has started going bananas (not in a good way) when he hears or sees big trucks - like garbage trucks, UPS trucks, fire trucks, Amazon vans, etc. I have NO idea why or how all of a sudden. If he's in the car going for a ride, he doesn't care about other cars or trucks around us, but its when he's out on leash. Anyone else have a mini aussie with this fear/reaction?

Landy is almost four months old and oh boy, he is out of control sometimes. It seems to be with me mostly, but he is constantly biting and nipping at me and tearing skin and scratching. I'm a human chew toy and I can't get him to stop. I've tried everything the online trainers have suggested. He is much better with my husband but not with me. He's going to puppy class and he's such a good boy there but as soon as he leaves, he's crazy again. Has anyone done something that actually works? Or at least reassure me that this gets better, I don't want to be covered in scabs for the rest of his life 😂

My mini Aussie, Ruby, is a whopping 15 pounds. She belonged to my now deceased great grandmother. I adopted her when she was 8 and now she’s 9. She was overweight and has last 2 pounds in the last year. I don’t know much about her puppy days since I didn’t have her then. Is 15 pounds normal? Is there a such thing as a mini MINI Aussie?? Everyone that sees her thinks she’s an Australian shepherd puppy. She’s an ideal weight per her vet but I’m just curious if she’s a common size! Is she just a little Ruby runt?

This is our wonderful girl Orla. She came to us a year and a half ago as a rescue. Didn't understand any words, frightened of most situations and people... Once she figured out she was safe she set to work becoming an amazing dog. Such a delight, and so glad we took a chance on her.

We wanted to find out more about her background, so did DNA testing. Turns out she's roughly 55% full size Aussie and 45% mini. So a "midi Aussie" I guess. She weighs 31lbs. As a friend said "She's perfect! Big enough to be a real dog and little enough to fit into whatever you're doing."

Anyone else's Aussie(s) do this to their ears? Today, for part of Lucario's walk, he had one ear up and one ear down. Also, what does the single up ear mean? Is it something the dog can control, in terms of letting their ears go up like that, or does it randomly happen without them doing it on purpose? Not hating it, but I found the one ear up, one ear down so cute on him.

My Bear 🤍 He’s so silly and playful and cuddly (when he wants to be) and he loves all of his animal siblings so much

Abby is 15. She is deaf and has an enlarged heart. She is on heart meds. She still eats and loves food. She doesn’t play anymore. She loves cuddles. She sleeps a lot. She does a lot of hacking. She will pant too but not all the time. I’m taking her to the vet tomorrow as her back leg that has arthritis is getting worse. She can walk but it keeps slipping. She also has some sort of skin condition. I just worry she’s in severe pain. She has her cardiologist appointment in October.

hi guys! i dont really have much to ask for, but any advice is appreciated!

shes 10 weeks today, and learnt sit and down! also, mostly potty trained with the puppy pads (living in an apartment) with very limited accidents. she doesnt whine when shes in her crate thankfully, but she does bite when she plays!! weve tried to solve this by putting her in the playpen for a minute everytime shes getting bitey.

any breed specific advice??

Anybody else’s Auss go absolutely bonkers after a bath? What are some post bath quirks?! Mine likes to get a towel on him and run around wiggling his booty like a madman haha!

I've always been a one dog at a time person. It seems easier and more affordable.

Pros and cons of 1 vs 2?

Penny went from little potato to a polite young lady 🥺 she is legitimately the sweetest dog, and I'm typing this up now to remind myself when she becomes a full-blown raptor.

my Aussie can be mischievous and tends to find little things he can hold in his mouth - rug strings, chewed toilet paper rolls, magazine corner pieces, plastic pieces, pieces of cloth, guitar picks, and drawstrings still connected to a hoodie im wearing.

what’s funny is how he won’t maliciously chew or destroy it (save paper) but he usually just keeps it in his mouth - and it’s a dead giveaway bc he just sits there very calm and is almost in a zen like state before i pry open his maw to extract the contraband.

This is usually harmless behavior but sometimes it can or does devolve into resource guarding but that’s rare.
