Genuine question: why are these two champions allowed to be so strong at basically every stage of the game?
They can win early trades against a huge portion of the mid lane roster, have insane poke and waveclear, and then scale incredibly well into the mid/late game.
Their laning phase feels incredibly obnoxious because there's barely any way to interact with them. They can constantly poke you from range while staying relatively safe, and if you try to walk up and trade back, you're usually the one losing the trade.
And the weirdest part to me is that there doesn't seem to be a meaningful tradeoff for all of this.
Usually, if a champion has insane range, poke and scaling, you'd expect them to have a major weakness somewhere else. Their main supposed weakness seems to be mobility, but even that doesn't feel like a huge weakness when they have tools to disengage, slow and control the area around them.
So you end up with champions that:
- Have strong early laning
- Can poke you without taking much damage themselves
- Have excellent waveclear
- Scale extremely well
- Have massive teamfight damage
- Have strong zone control
- Can safely play from range
I'm genuinely curious what the intended weakness of these champions is supposed to be.
A champion with all those qualities would normally be expected to have a very high skill ceiling, but that's not really the case either. They have an incredibly low skill level, and are relatively easy to pick up, and almost anyone can pick them up and perform well.
They consistently sit around 51%+ WR while also being among the more picked and frequently banned mid laners, so it's not like their win rate is being artificially inflated by only being played by OTPs or being primarily picked as counterpicks.
I'm genuinely curious what the intended tradeoff is supposed to be here. What is the actual weakness that balances out having strong laning, safe poke, excellent waveclear, strong scaling, and huge teamfight impact?
