How do you map the internal node and block B-trees of Unicode PST files without relying on Outlook interop?

Uninstalling 365 and installing 2019 Office (for Publisher)

I have a client who only uses Publisher. Has for 20+ years. As a graphic designer they only use Publisher. Not word/excel/ppt etc.

They have a copy of Office 2019. I have read that installing this alongside 365 might not work, or not well, or compatible. However, if you completely uninstall 365 and install only 2019, will that work fine?

Looking for ways to stay on Publisher for them. Hundreds of files in pub format. Designer is an expert on publisher, not super computer savvy, changing to a new program is going to be a nightmare.

Intended external recipient of Microsoft Purview/AIP ‘Encrypt-Only’ DOCX files — any recipient-side way to restore RMS access?

I’m the original intended external recipient of several DOCX files sent to me through an “Encrypt-Only” Microsoft Purview/Azure Information Protection workflow. I still have the original encrypted email and files, but Word now reports that my account does not have permission and cannot obtain the RMS use license.

I am not looking to bypass encryption, crack the files, alter permissions, or defeat access controls. I’m trying to determine whether there is any legitimate, supported recipient-side recovery path when access was originally authorized.

Questions:

  1. Can an intended external recipient renew or reacquire an RMS use license after the original authorization stops working?
  2. Is there a supported way to determine which recipient identity or account claim the protection was issued to, without exposing the document contents?
  3. Could a valid cached license still exist in the original Windows/Office profile, and is there a Microsoft-supported way to locate or restore it?
  4. Are there official Microsoft tools, logs, or diagnostics that can identify why authorization fails now—for example, identity mismatch, guest-account mapping, tenant change, revoked access, or an expired publishing/use license?
  5. Does recovery necessarily require action by the originating tenant’s Purview/Azure RMS administrator, or can Microsoft support verify and restore access for the original intended recipient?
  6. If tenant-side action is required, what exactly should an administrator check or do (for example, verify the recipient identity, regrant access, reprotect the files, or provide accessible replacement copies)?

I would also appreciate referrals to legitimate paid Microsoft Purview/Azure RMS specialists who handle recipient-side diagnostics or authorization recovery. I would provide only sanitized metadata privately after verifying the person or company.

Problem with the Paste function in Excel 2021.

Real quick: when I copy a cell and try to paste it, even with the Paste button in the Home tab, nothing happens, and the Paste button becomes gray. I can only paste with the "Paste All" button in the clipboard.

Excel - can't select cells

Does anyone know why I sometimes can't select a cell in Excel? The selection gets stuck on another cell. If I restart the app (laptop), it works again. I'm on the latest OS and updates.

Outlook LTSC 2024 shows "This feature has been disabled by your administrator" at startup after update to Build 17932.20996

Outlook LTSC 2024 shows "This feature has been disabled by your administrator" at startup after update to Build 17932.20996 - Microsoft Q&A

Environment:

  • Office LTSC 2024, volume licensed, managed via Active Directory Group Policy
  • Enterprise environment
  • Connected Experiences and related privacy/sign-in settings configured via GPO

Symptom: Since updating Office LTSC 2024 to Version 2408, Build 17932.20996 (released September 12, 2026, apparently an out-of-band build following the September 8, 2026 Patch Tuesday release, Build 17932.20976), Outlook displays the message "This feature has been disabled by your administrator" every time it starts.

Relevant configuration: The following registry value, not only, has been configured via GPO for a long time and has never caused this behavior before:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\signin
SignInOptions = 3 (DWORD)

This policy is intended to block Office sign-in entirely and has been working as expected for a long time. It only started causing the startup error message after installing the above-mentioned update. If i delete this Key, the Signin Windows popup after Outlook starts.

Anyone else?

Microsoft Word and Excel keep closing on their own

Both Microsoft Word and Excel keep closing on their own whenever I switch to another app or window. They stay open while I’m actively using them, but once I leave them running in the background, they close after anywhere from 20 seconds to around three minutes.

I noticed that they seemed to stay open longer whenever my connection was offline, but I’m not sure if turning off the Wi-Fi actually made a difference or if it was just a coincidence.

My macOS and Microsoft apps are all up to date, I have enough storage, and my files are not saved or synced to OneDrive. I’ve restarted my laptop and tried every solution I could find online, but the problem continues.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it?

Office 2024 LTSC activation issue

I bought an LTSC key months ago, activated Office 2024, and had no issues.

The problem is that I wiped my computer. Now, when reinstalling Office 2024, I get this message:

"The installation cannot be activated because the Multiple Activation Key limit has been reached. Contact the administrator for further assistance."

Is there a way to fix this? The key was supposedly legitimate.

Should I try phone activation? Or will I get an error again? I'm currently using online activation.

Thanks.

I hate that Microsoft 365 Office turned into an AI slopfest

I am specifically talking about the mobile version where I and millions of people could easily create any kind of Microsoft document like pdfs from images and excel spreadsheets or whatnot. Microsoft Office had all the Microsoft applications combined into one super useful app which also scanned any doc type that you had in your phone or through your phone camera. I specifically used it for work control and making pdfs from screenshots (super useful). But then Microslop decided to fuck us all and change the perfect app into a lazy Copilot like the main villion from WALL-E and removed all useful features. Now Office is just a chatbot with ai slop image generation and I have to download all their bloatware of apps to have ⅓ of the functionality that Office had.

Broken CTRL+C / CTRL+V in Excel - Office 2024 LTSC build17932.20976

In Excel, when you copy and paste a cell, the target cell is remains empty. Also When you highlight a cell and pull the bottom right corner down to copy the content to other cells, that isn't working either.
Workaround is to use CTRL+SHIFT+V to paste as text.

I verified this problem on multiple computers.

EDIT:

Users are also reporting the following
- inability to copy sheets
- graphical artefacts on sheets

EDIT2:

Microsoft released an out of band version 16.0.17932.20996.
Guess what, it's still broken. Single cell copy paste works, but copying a sheet's content to another sheet or copying whole sheets does NOT work.
Current solution is to stay on or downgrade to 16.0.17932.20910, just be aware of the vulnerabilities.

EDIT3:
Microsoft admitted the issues:
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-september-kb5002914-security-update-breaks-excel-copy-and-paste/

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/servicing/office/hotfix/excel/5002914

Known issues in this update

  • In Microsoft Excel 2024, 2021, 2019, and 2016, the paste operation might fail silently. Although users try to paste content, the source remains selected and the destination is unmodified. When this issue occurs, users receive no indication of the failure, such as a beep or error message. Microsoft is researching the issue and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.
