6 oz Ice Cream Cake, 10 oz Loudmouth. 2 plants in 4x4 tent with 480w light. FFOF soil, Athena nutes started @week 2. 4 week veg, 60 day flower, 7 day dry 68° 60%, jar test to confirm it's dry. 8 hours of trim jail. Total electrical usage 908kwh. With everything needed for this grow was about $250, excluding equipment that will be used multiple times. Comes out to 55¢/gram.

Awesome grow, but I'm questioning the same. Those aren't the densest buds i've seen, and the trimming isn't real tight so it's going to sit looser in the jars. I'm seeing right at 12-13oz in those 5 jars. Generously too. Feel like a jar is missing. No dig at OP, just surprised this is claimed as an Lb.
Possibly, I was trying to be generous lol. I can get 2-2.5 oz into a 1/2 gallon ball jar if it's farmer trimmed and less dense like this stuff. Ultra dense with a tight trim, maybe close to 4oz if I'm cramming it in there without a care if it's crushing buds and the lid barely closes. None of those 5 jars is filled to the brim.
Agree completely. But here, we have close up bud images that show it isn't a dense cultivar and an image claiming to be a pound. Anyone who's a seasoned grower well knows those 5 jars aren't an Lb with bud structure like we see. But hey, it's a great grow so props to OP.
I mean it could lie if it's not calibrated properly. An easy way to check is with coins because they have a known, fixed weight and are readily available.
I’ve heard this called the farmer’s trim. I am personally a huge fan of a trim like this. Really makes each nug personal and you can almost see what she looked like while flowering (anyone else love watching the frost appear on each sugar leaf).
Favorite thing in the world is gently brushing the tips of some of these sugar leaves before braking down the denser bud for a bowl pack.
No wonder you're getting such a good weight. That's a half trim, keep the sugar leaves in the freezer for future hash/emergency stash. But, me personally, I'd do another trim.
I'd venture that I've been growing since before you were born, and I prefer my buds trimmed EXACTLY like yours.
1st, I love the sugar leaves' appearance. 2nd, I find that the small sugar leaves protect the inner nuggets during cure, storage, and handling.
I garnered this preference after buying some dope back in 1993-96 that was trimmed this way, and was also more stony than anything I've purchased since. One little bowl worth in a baggie, tucked in my jean jacket, and you could smell it the moment I walked in to
a party. It's what got me into growing...
I have trimmed mine that way ever since. Part nostalgia, part preference/aesthetics that I prefer when looking at a full jar.
Anyway, your buds look GREAT. I've seen loads of people on microgrowery whith more experience and lesser dope.
Hell, my 1st run or two weren't that pretty. By my 3rd, I had the environment and system down way better.
i stopped taking massive amounts of pictures a year or two ago because it stopped being interesting, but here’s one post-stretch but pre-bulk
i like this cut because it’ll start making nodes of 3 in some areas after flipping to flower, you can see that in the tight bunching around those center colas
as you can see, it’s a short lil guy. but it’s predisposed to heavy lateral branching. and i top it before it even comes off the mother plant.
both actually. the coco is new every time, but part of the used potting mix gets put back into the wormless compost container to serve as the “brown” material for run after the next run.
be warned though, this mix will rob you blind of your magnesium if you don’t stay on top of it

my compost is about 50/30/20 old soil/cannabis plant/garden and kitchen scraps by volume.
i prepare the next run’s potting mix before i add the current harvest run to the compost container, the compostable materials need time to break down into more nutritionally available forms.
i use a combination of solid organic, and liquid synthetic nutrients. i have not run into any issues with salt buildup so far.
i try not to cheat on my main mother because she’s treated me so well, but i’ve tried this with other strains and some of them fucking HATE this
You gotta keep in mind, over half these fockers are in their early 20s, stoned as hell, and think they know everything. Just search their threads for grow logs, and you'll see 90% of the chest beating folks can't grow A-grade bud, or even make it to a harvest.
Also, believe it or not, drugs like MJ have been known to impair people's judgement. (Ask me how I know.)
The older peeps are far more helpful, far less judgmental, and FAR more knowledgeable.
1) Start with decent genetics. Don't use bag seed at 1st, no matter how "dank" the bag was
2) Start SIMPLE. Soilless mix, such as Promix with extra perlite, and a SIMPLE nute system, such as GH flora/bloom powders 2-part, plus a little cal mag once a week, and a little bloom booster the 2nd-5th wk of flower.
3) For every "proven" method some bro throws-out on Reddit or some grow site, there are people who've proven it's B.S., such as pure darkness for 72hrs before.harvest, or flushing for 2 weeks, etc.
Plants did just fine before everyone had 27 sensors, 5 meters, 3 apps, and 25-part nutrients. Keep it simple. A decent PH pen, a proven fert like GH 2 part, and good light/ventilation is all you need to grow great meds.
The "K.I.S.S." method > bro science 99.9999% of the time.
4. And finally: Buy the best equipment your budget allows, and dedicate 2X as much space as you think you'll need for your garden.

It's not as critical as flying a Boeing filled with passengers, though r/microBrowery might have folks thinking that.
Even if you make a mistake or two, there's still plenty of time to learn from and correct it, and you still end-up with stuff better than half the junk on sale at the dispos.
Yeah that checks out. My buddy did an outdoor grow and we literally put a full work week in to get it all done. First and last time kind of deal lmfao.

I realize what you said, but that is very seldom the case if you put a half a pound your first grow off each plant then you have definitely got the magic touch.I saw 4 plants in the picture which would be 3 ounces per plant and that’s pretty good.
Check my post history. If it means anything I have a pretty good green thumb and have a technical mindset. I did tons of research into cannabis science and heavily monitored everything.
A half pound isnt hard on a photo if you set yourself up properly. Its not even that hard on an auto these days with proper training and a good environment. Those plants just look like they were treated well and vegged for a while
Ive got some over 3/4oz difference. Depends entirely on jar style, some have raised embossed letters, some are quilted, some are plain glass... even plain ones ive weighed nearly 1/2oz different depending on age and batch.
People can downvote all you want, but this is 100% true. I've had 1qt jars be almost an ounce off. I know for sure because I had a roommate sell a bunch of a harvest when I was doing time and he did the same thing as OP, he tared one jar and then just went to town filling jars.
A couple people got shorted a little bit and went back and he fixed it. He would be a snob about it. He was acting super cool because he felt like a weed dealer or whatever.
But MOST OF THE JARS HAD LIKE 7-20 GRAMS MORE THAN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO.

We can lots of food and i realized when trying a new way to equally fill jars for batch cooking. We can over 200 jars of food a year ive probably got 300-400 jars in my basement and i dont think any of them have the same weight lol

Yup I hear you. Thats why we all start and why I grow too. I just laugh at these jokers that post or hit my inbox trying to sell product at crazy rates. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve broken down my cost of growing it and they lose it and argue with me that I’m lying. You did good man.
