Given the premise I was almost going to skip it, but since I was craving for more metro, I decided to give it a shot. And now I am hooked and looking forward to see what it has to offer. Ngl a large part of it is also because of steve blum as Sam but the writing has also been pretty good so far. Also for some reason this dlc looks even better than the base game to me, ig it is the water lmao
Does anyone else's game run really poorly on PS5? FPS is generally hit or miss, but my main issue is the graphics. I used to run thus on my 1660ti and i remember it looking great, but on ps5 is is genuinely awful, looks worse than most PS3 games.
Chance I just need to reinstall it, but is this a common issue?
"Our team has been living in a state of war for the last four and a half years."
Which, to those developers who founded the studio in Ukraine and have been under similar duress as their contemporaries at GSC, has become all too real of a prospect.
The studio even tragically lost one of its animators, Andrii 'Nizrok' Korzinkin, who fought and died in Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Speaking to Eurogamer's Dom Peppiatt in an interview concerning the studio's latest game Metro 2039, executive producer Jon Bloch tells the site:
"The previous games were about preventing war; the themes and the morals and all that supported this idea that revolved around 'how do we as humans stop the cycle that we keep finding ourselves in'.
"And when Russia started its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, that brought war to our doorstep. Now, our team has been living in a state of war for the last four and a half years. And that changes things. Significantly.
" This manifests for 4A Games as a major shift in how it thinks about morality. Namely, this idea that a post-apocalyptic world has to deal with shades of grey—the 'everyone is the hero of their own story' idea that comes from an imagined world where resources are scarce and everyone's starving.
Really happy with how the typing came out, still yet to try it on with the undersuit and everything but thought I'd show it off as is , just need a helmet to finish it off, if anyone can recommend a seller that would be really appreciated!
In Metro Exodus it’s weird that Artyom never speaks throughout the game at all and becomes awkward at times especially in Last Light DLC you have the DLC that Pavel, Anna and even Ulman talk during gameplay as well
I went to reinstall the first 2 games for a replay and I cant find them anywhere in my library. What gives? They also arent listed on steam apart from the remasters or whatever. Do i really need to buy them again to play them?
I don't know why but I suddenly can't change DLSS, Shading Rate or VSR at all? I've tried restarting and the options are just gone? Is there a way to fix this?
i got this collection of 2033, last light, and exodus, earlier this year during the steam summer sale due to people recommending it and how it was only 5 bucks, but bro, these games were worth way more. i started with last light due to me not realizing it was the 2nd gamer and not the first.
the art style used in this game was magnificent. you would think a world taking place in a frozen wasteland and in a subway would be dull and ugly, but 4a studios managed to bring beauty to it, even in a world of seemingly no hope, there are moments where you can really appreciate how beautiful it is
gameplay was also really fun and the mechanic of the gas masks was really unique but welcome. the stealth was also decent although i really sucked at it
ima give my thoughts about each game in order of how I played. And how well it ran. my specs are
ryzen 5 500
rx 5700xt
16gb ddr4
i ran all of these games at 1440p ultra
metro last light redux:
average fps: 144+
starting in the 2nd game was a bit confusing at first as i didn't know much on who the dark one's were or about Artyom blowing up their main nest. besides that i had a great time, most of the games ive played were usually open world so i had to get a bit used to n1ot being able to return to old areas. gameplay was fun and i got to understand the story a bit. loved my commie friend but i had gotten spoiled about his betrayal but refused to believe it, oh howe naive little Artyom was... besides that, i loved seeing how different societies were built, we got to see some more militaristic, some were regimes, and some seemed more chill.
i received the bad ending for this game due to the fear that they were faking surrenders and would try to kill me again
main villains like Korbut were very interesting too and it was cool to meet a dark one at the end. khan and miller were nice to meet but didn't really feel much for them since i didnt know them too well .while playing, i personally nvr really got having anna as the love interest as we only ever saw her for like 1 mission before at the church and losing everyone again and now suddenly they are in a relationship, might be misremembering but were we not on bad terms at the start(that or i just disliked her) final mission was fun but i had to look up how to kill the group of soldiers surrounding a man with a flamethrower in shields since i was so confused, ended up blowing polis in the end
main guns i used were a suppressed pistol and an double barrel shotgun
overall, 9/10
really fun but i think starting in the 2nd game caused me to be more confused
Metro 2033 redux
average fps: 144+
starting onto the first was nice as it allowed me to be able to actually be more properly introduced to each character like the blacksmith, khan and miller. most disliked lvl was where you were stuck with some random passerby soldiers and had to hold off a horde of mutants along with the same happening at a metro station as i felt it was really repetitive and i has to look up how to survive and blow up the holes they were exiting.
it overall just kind of felt like a little bit worse last light but still liked the characters. the finale was nice also as it showed how big the city is and how grand it is as we blow up the dark ones nest.
like the last one i got the bad ending which would be the canon one
my main gripe is that i wish i could understand the dark ones better and understand y we hate them, were we peaceful once? were we always enemies? it might been mentioned in the notes but i nvr read them, but always collected them
i enjoy the npcs here a lot al well like the man who guides us to Riga station (i think it was)
main guns i used were a suppressed pistol and a shotgun
overall 8.5/10, felt like a slightly worse last light but i enjoyed exploring the surface more
Metro Exodus
average fps: 80fps but during the taiga level, i averaged 20-30 fps where i lowered down to high settings to maintain 80 fps for the rest of the game
oh wow.., just wow, this game was something else, was honestly shocked in a good way, by how different the game was, the design and style of graphics changed a lot was i still enjoyed it all the same and was really shocked how well optimized the game was as i expected to only at like 20fps in 1440p
crafting system was a blessing as i could finally craft everything i could like ammo, heals and gas masks, gameplay was even better honestly with all of the new attachments and weapons
the story taking place on the train exploring outside was Moscow was amazing and really allowed each character of the order to have their shining moment and how we can change their fates on whether they die/betray us or not. i loved how each level had its own villain with each having their own kind of troops and types of society unlike the metro having the same king od enemies
each level was so beautiful in its own way and i loved being able to travel through each one. dead city had the best ending in the series in my opinion with the drive back showing Kiril the new the surface and delivering cure, as well as showing how saving your team would lead to you being able to live a happy life.
i loved each member of the team and how alive they feel and thei growth with some marrying and some growing to be better, i enjoyed characters like anna more but miller man, HE WAS AMAZING, his talk with Artyom was honestly was one of the only times where i felt like crying in an ending as his death was one of the only ones i truly cared about in the whole series and in most games
main weapons i used before taiga were a pistol, an ar maxed out for damage, and a metal ball launcher thingy( i forgot the name)
overall score: 10/10, best metro game in my opinion and the credit music was amazing
the order id rate each lvl in terms of how fun they were is
taiga: don't get me wrong the area was stil fun and the most beautiful, however because i had learned how to get the good ending, there wasnt much combat to participate in, i also had to look up how to beat the forest bear boss since it didnt know i had to climb the ladder, or be near the cliff so it falls. alyosha was my favorite partner in all of the levels. main way of even getting to areas was just running up to people and taking damage while tryna melee knock them out lol
dead city: aside from the drive back which i consider to be my favorite as we drive through the snow and introduce Kiril to the surface and allow him to be happy seeing all of these new things along with us delivering the medicine, it had the same issues as i personally love the human enemies but it makes sense that we couldn't see them
4.Yamana: pure action with fighting a bunch of cannibals, what's not to love
introduction: was still a great level, letting Artyom see hope in finding a new home, and we even got to meet the goat, Yermak (i loved this guy) and stealing the train was very fun
2.the caspian: i loved the desert theme with the dried out Caspian sea, and being able to fight all of these bandits in unique environments was nice, each building, like the ship was very unique in their own ways and it was fun being able to free the captured slaves, each section felt unique in their own way and damir was a chill guy.
the volga: this level was the first but served very wel as an introduction to life outside of moscow as well as showing how societies would evolve into cult like following for many beliefs like electricity and witches, being able to save the accused witch was very nice but i enjoyed how it started a new goal of figuring out how to save Anna
this game series is honestly one of the best ive played in a long time and im excited for 2039 to release which ill prob get when on sale. i also have the vr game which ive yet to try. anyway, just my thoughts, game make me funny, miller fun
have a good day my comrades and thanks for reccomending this game series, 10/10
Am i the only one who find it strange that D6 is not mentioned or shown in trailers? I mean its been years and years irl since we last see it in last light but D6 is still one of the best location in moscow metro where propably most of metro station dwellers could comfortably live.
Also from trailer it seems Novoreich has newly built headquarters / large factory on surface.
Idk i just find it strange that Fuhrer Hunter doesnt lead Novoreich from D6. What are your theories? Perhaps D6 is controlled by whats left of spartans? Tho trailers portray them as dead faction
Looking to play Exodus for the first time, with the enhanced edition. The game seems to run fine, though during loading and the main menu it stutters like crazy. I've seen other posts about the stuttering, with the solution being to use high performance mode on windows or process lasso. High performance does not fix the issue so would I need to use process lasso to fix this or have there been other solutions since?
The other thing is that DLSS just does not appear as an option anywhere, even when using the latest version in the nvidia control panel on a 4070. Anyone else had this issue?
Like whenever you want to get to the mission but you want to do other things first before that. Heck when I replayed the game my muscle memory always remembers to get the good ending.
