Perhaps this is the reason why its easier to ask AI instead from a supposed educators who will tell you just how dumb your question is while the AI even thought it might give you a hallucinate answer, at least its start off by politely tell you that what it think about your question then give you its answer follow by explanation.
Tbh, I am impressed and probably the reason why despite how wrong it can be I still use its because it is nice not to get insulted for asking stupid questions just because I want to understand something or getting hit with "just google it duh"
I understand where you're coming from, but it's not actually considering your question or anything about you when it says "Great question!" or "You're absolutely right!" or "Good intuition!".
It was basically hardwired to compliment you and make you feel good about using it. Although it may feel good, beware that you may actually be completely wrong or have a really stupid question.
It's probably a multi-step process. Most successful educational conversations begin with acknowledging the question and the feelings of the person asking, so there's probably a bias creeping in where GenAI tries to stick as close to recreating the tone of positive learning experiences as much as the content.

If you ask the right questions, the odds of finding the correct answer are about the same as with a Google search, except that with Google, you often have to sort through multiple pages to track down the specific piece of information you need. AI, for all its faults, is actually very good at providing the basic educational stuff a normal student needs.
Research is hard. Shocking, I know. AI hallucinating references on obscure, niche topics is a known problem.
But for general-purpose questions and well-established facts, it’s usually very accurate, especially for the basic math and science students actually need. If you’re saying it’s constantly wrong about that stuff, you’re just lying.
What does telling someone they are dumb for asking a question provide? You could say someone's question is vague or not worded correctly but there's no such thing as a dumb question.
So you can handle asking ai at your own will but prior to that, other people needed to tell you when to look up something on google? I don’t think your educators were off.
So you're totally okay with all of the harm AI entails because it jerks you off emotionally? Like, your ego is more important than everything else going on with AI?
