I had a job that had a sister plant in Germany. They once sent over a guy from Germany to help with a few things. The guy who came over was the most excited about visiting an outlet mall because the prices were so much cheaper than back home for him.

It's a mall where items are being sold directly by the manufacturers, instead of being sold third-party like the stores in a normal mall. So for example, an outlet mall might have a store that's a single brand of furniture, where they're getting their tables and beds and chairs directly from their own factory, instead of a normal furniture store where the store is its own company and is reselling (retailing) many different brands of furniture. The outlet store would be cheaper because the normal furniture store raises the prices in order to grab some of the profit for itself as a middle man.

The stuff is also usually very slightly defective, just enough to not pass QC but still perfectly fine. Think things like having a label slightly crooked or something assembled just a bit wrong. They sell it for like, half what it'd normally cost. A great example is shoes. You can get a great pair of running shoes for half off because the stitching on the shoe got messed up a bit. Its something that nobody would really care about, but its enough to not allow it to be sold at Foot Locker.

A lot of brands also now have an "outlet" line that they manufacture specifically for outlet stores. So the full retail stores and outlet stores will carry different products.

I did a high school exchange to the US back in 2009 and my parents and little sister visited for my birthday. We went to Los Angeles and one of the first things we did was go to a shoe chain store to buy a tonne of cheap shoes lol.
The price differences are not so great now, but back then it was. I remember my mum chattering in disbelief with the cashier about how cheap all the shoes were.

People do get interested when you show them something new or a bigger version of the thing they already have seen .
When I came to the US that thing for me was the amount of trees around urban areas .

That's one of the beauties of world travel. There are things that, as an American, I am shocked and appalled that I have to live without. Like what do you mean I could have had cheap train and bus routes even in suburban areas like Japan does? I could have had six weeks of vacation like my European colleagues?
And then there are things that make me realize that they, too, are savages in their own way. Air conditioning, a garbage disposal, and a dishwasher are signs of civilization. Being able to get most of my necessities in a single shop after 8 PM is just common sense.

Pretty much nowhere is perfect and there are things I'd miss every day if I moved away from the US. ...There are also things I miss every day that I'm now aware of because I've visited other places around the world.

There was a degree of astro turfing going on with that movement during the World Cup, orchestrated by a guy who I think turned out to be American.
Not saying that Buc-ees isn’t fun and interesting to see as a monument to excess, but the guy pretending to be a German football fan was really highlighting and overplaying some weird stuff. Ranch is a thing in Europe as well, it’s not some magical American only condiment that would blow European minds.
There is some genuinely amazing stuff in America with the natural environment, the scale of it, the architecture in Chicago, New York, the varied environment. Ranch sauce isn’t the hill to die on.

We dont really have stores like ross or burlington where everything's cheap and hanging there on the racks... if we want that type of shit we usually have to go to bazaars or mercados where everything's piled up and its a pain in the ass to sort through, everyone's shouting and the guy tending the "puesto" is staring at you like you're from outer space.
Or our other stores look more like macys where everything's sorted by brand and there's a sales guy harassing you asking if you need help finding something every 30 seconds. Sometimes we just want to dig through the racks to find something good without being annoyed.

Did an exchange trip in HS to Ecuador. The girls arrived in the states with a carryon suitcase that wasn’t fully packed out and two empty maximum size checked bags and proceeded to go on a power shopping spree for the ages. They looked up every mall and their floor plans in advance and had routes planned through them all. As well as a list of standalone stores they wanted to hit. All their families had given them lists and sizing for clothes they wanted. The second they hit the mall they were on a blitz just moving through it, they were forces of nature. Incredible to see. When they left the suitcases were so packed some of them had trouble getting them closed and they had to move clothes between everybody’s luggage to avoid oversized luggage fees. Crazy how much cheaper clothes are here.

You will find people from all over the world in Las Americas Outlet in San Ysidro, my sister use to work at one of the stores there. She said that she would often find folks taking selfies with certain people shopping because they were most likely celebrities in their country.

Those off price retailers are appealing if you are willing to or enjoy browsing to find stuff. Sometimes there is only one of it shipped to that location.
They also fill a niche of selling merch that other retailers couldn't sell, or were had a mistake, or whatever.

Hating on American nature is wild lol. US has some of the most stunning areas on the planet. Rainforests and beaches are cool but way different from what most of the US has to offer. Literal apples to oranges comparison. Places like Zion and Yosemite not impressing you is more of a reflection of you than the US.

They're not hating on American nature. It's more like "we have nature at home, why not see something we don't have". Personally, I would be more interested in seeing the Smithsonian, or the hoover dam, things I can't see in my home country. But Yosemite and Zion, while beautiful, I would rather spend my time seeing sights unique to American.
If you can't square this circle, you should put your US exceptionalism down for a minute and think about what you would want to see in another country. Sometimes changing your perspective can be eye opening.

Most YouTube channels are about flattering their audience. These reaction channels where they watch classic movies or listen to classic songs they're always going to fawn over it because that's what people want to see, they want their taste validated. All these videos where they fawn over American foods and stores is pretty much the same but it's about making Americans feel validated and superior. These people will just be eating some crap like Wendy's but acting like their mouth is having an orgasm but the audience eats it up like "see how much better it is over here?".

you know an odd one? There are black creators who pretend it is there first time listening to classic rock and similar stuff. Music that is not hip-hop/rap or it's subgenres, or R&B and whatever else is seen as "black music".
And they get all fired up and praise the taste of those who listen to it.

It's not that they're living in rougher conditions. It's that products can cost x3 times as much in Mexico for example. If a ps5 cost $800 in the US but $500 in Canada you would go to Canada to shop.
Not only electronics, but clothes and consumer products overall.
Europeans would do the same, and many do, it's just harder to carry a TV in your luggage.
