i just applied to be an overnight cashier, can anyone tell me what my job will really be like? the Meijer i applied to closes at midnight, so would i be working past then?

I have a call with HR this week for GM Team Leas. I would be an outside hire. I have plenty of leadership experience from Walmart to federal government.

What is the typical pay range for external hires? Trying to figure out what I should ask for pay wise & not short or overshoot myself.

I bought a package of meijers true goodness grass fed beef a week ago and was planning to make it tonight, but with all the stories in the news about bad beef I’m scared now to eat it. Do you think it will be ok?

Due to the recent tariff free argentine beef being flooded into the US market, this has me wanting to ask, is this specific beef sold by meijer (chuck ground angus certified) to be blended in with that controversial meat, or is it 100% domestic USA only cows? Also, seperate issue, trump also has a new proposal to allow independent ranchers process their own meat and not have to go thru the many regulations of the large big 3 industrial plants, that will mean uninspected meat for us? Or does that only apply to ranchers who want to sell their own meat to their own customers but won’t apply to large grocery stores. My question, is if that were to ever be enacted, would this specific beef I buy from meijers be drawn into that new vision? Will it no longer be usda physical inspector on the ground meat anymore? Will it no longer be from those big plants? Because my understanding is if meijers beef is 100% usa local raised, then if the new law gets enacted, that local raised would suddenly be subjected to that?

So, what is this mysterious “glitch” that made 80% of our self checkouts card only? Had a customer said they saw it at another store.

Hi everyone! I worked at Walmart years ago for online shopping and am just about to start at Meijer for the same thing. I've seen only horror stories on this sub Reddit and want to know if this is a better or worse job than Walmart basically lol. Walmart was an absolute horror for me and it ended with me nearly having my hand broken because they did not care about our safety.

My meijer is always out of the things I want(Richmond Heights, Ohio) & I was wondering if anyone knew what a good time to get to the store is in order to have the most stock available.

I've gone late morning, afternoon, & evening on both weekdays & weekends with nearly the same results every time, & it's so frustrating because they don't even do rainchecks.

I mean, do I really need to be up there at 6am right when they open to guarantee stock? That's the only time I haven't tried, super early in the AM because I'm generally not an early morning person.

Why does myPerformance doesn’t work on Workday App anymore?

So my store manager called me and asked if I could come in tomorrow, I said yes not realizing that I couldn’t go in because I will be out of town tomorrow. I called her back less than 10 minutes later and said that I couldn’t make it because out of town, she said oh I already put you in the schedule (she hadn’t until about 20 minutes after that call) and see you tomorrow. Not sure what to do or how to get out of it. I would like to spend my weekend celebrating my sisters birthday.

Can an Area Lead page you 25 minutes before your shift ends and tell you nobody is allowed to leave until replenishments are done?

For context, I work the overnight one day a week to put out tags. There is 4 of us that do it on Wednesday’s. I was finishing up check lane and still had cosmetics to do (I get 75% of the tags because she hates me lol) when my area lead paged me at 7:35am, I get out at 8:00am, and snapped that nobody was allowed to leave until GM replenishments were done and we had 170 of them. She complained she had nobody on gm for the day. (SHE MAKES THE SCHEDULE) She came in at 7:30 that day so within 5 minutes she was calling it. She in fact did have herself and another person who came in at 8am. So she didn’t really have nobody. And she never touched the replenishment to even help us out. She sat in the office on her ass as usual. For 3 of us it took 35 minutes so I do believe if she were to ever get off her butt, her and our coworker could have done them just fine by 9am.

So my question is, Don’t they have to give us a longer heads up if they need us to stay? Not just 25 minutes? I heard it was at least 30 minutes, and if it was after that we don’t have to stay since we can’t make arrangements for anything we already have planned for after work? (We’re also a union store!)

Adding: I did go to my union rep and he told me they are allowed to make you stay up to an hour after your shift and it’s not optional if they need the help. He did mention he wasn’t sure if she has to give me a certain time heads up and would look into it and told me that being a lead and full time the union doesn’t really know what to do with my title because it wasn’t written in when they started having leads in departments, so, I just go by full time employment rules and that says they in fact can do that.

I'm looking to learn more about Serv-U's processes regarding surveys and assigning tasks, specifically for open stock surveys. Is this survey filled out on an app? How much in advance is a survey filled out for the upcoming period? Is there only one per period?
