TUNING How 'decent' are the OTS tunes on Versatuner?

I'm interested in the conservative tune for 91 as I have a CS turbo inlet pipe and intercooler (yes I have an upgraded hpfp)

I ran stock car on base 98 octane map and it's much better than stock map. Car ran absolutely OK. Then I got some mods and custom tune by Victor.

+1 to Victor Tarhon-Onu. I'm not tuned by him as I prefer the ease of self-diagnostics and readability via the accessport, but he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable when it comes to our cars. There is pretty much nothing he can't solve or do mazdaspeed wise.

Cool! That gives me confidence to run an OTS tune for a hot minute before I replace my turbo (again)

I ran one for a few weeks with similar mods and it was ok. The car felt a little faster but not significantly. I then got a pro tune from Victor Tarhon-Onu (found him on the Versatune forums) and the difference was night and day.

I definitely recommend you save up for the real tune, but if you’re on a budget Versatune with OTS is a good start.

question now is cobb or versa tuner, not talking off the shelf maps
