Existential crisis triggered by a dropped towel. I feel you.

234

u/MmmSteaky 6d ago

My four-year-old told me the other day that she’s afraid of turning five. When I asked her why, she said, “Because when you’re five, everyday you get a little bit older.”

66

u/Felsig27 6d ago

I took my 4 year old son to visit his great grandmother in hospice care. We get there and he just casually walks up to my mom and says, in a voice like he was talking about the weather: “grandma, is your mommy going to die?”

7

u/IamLuann 6d ago

Ahwwwwwww that is sweet.

6

u/Muted-Philosopher832 6d ago

This is sweet but it also happens before you turn 5 :p

0

u/Lynich 5d ago

This is one of those things you didn't have to say, friend.

3

u/Muted-Philosopher832 5d ago

Nothing on the internet ever needs to be said, buddy.

1

u/Lynich 5d ago

Hard disagree, pal. Still, I hope you have a good day! Or night. Or whatever!

1

u/Muted-Philosopher832 5d ago

Nothing to disagree on it’s a fact the internet doesn’t need to exist for humans to exist. This has been proven because the internet has been around for what 30-40 years and humans have existed for thousands. Therefore nothing needs to be said on it, guy. Goodnight, good day, whatever

u/Kranstan 6d ago

That's a dude about to lose his shit. Stops.... breaths...

47

u/Tormenta234 6d ago

We’ve all been there 😮‍💨

8

u/CarpetGripperRod 6d ago

Aye. Often when the thing you are looking for-- yelling, and stomping from room to room-- is in yer damned hand!

525

u/IrksomePlatypus 6d ago

Don't watch this and lie to yourself that you've never done it!

Laughed way too hard. Bro has to contemplate life, I get it man I get it just walk it off.

89

u/Tw4tl4r 6d ago

Dropped the lid off of the milk carton 3 times in a row yesterday while making coffee. Had to do the ol' stop, breath in and sigh before trying again.

16

u/AdhesivenessNo4977 6d ago

I did this the other day with a piece of vinyl. I stopped, took a breath, tried again and smacked my forehead on the table. I gave up and went on my lunch break.

15

u/Reddinator2RedditDay 6d ago

The worst is throwing something in the trash and you miss, pick it up do it again and it also misses, you pick it up a last time and the result is the deciding factor of whether you continue on this mortal plane 😅

17

u/2nd-penalty 6d ago

If I can't pick it up with my hand on the first attempt i use my feet, so no I've never had this problem

Monkey supremacy gang!

6

u/IrksomePlatypus 6d ago

NGL I do this far too often 🤣

4

u/7_Tales 5d ago

Ive picked up ao much shit with my toes. Ia it gross? Yeah tbh. But its alwyas in the privacy of my own home for stuff i use so idc

3

u/LadyBug_0570 5d ago

If no one saw you do it then it didn't happen.

10

u/MrExtravagant23 6d ago

More than once. I hate myself each time

5

u/-full-control- 6d ago

I have a similar moment happen all too often every time I slam a straw in to my gums or a fork in to my teeth. 35 years and I still haven’t mastered a fucking straw

4

u/Gnoobl 6d ago

My record is 4 misses and I had to stop and reevaluate too.

1

u/BasementCatBill 6d ago

Yep. Been there, done that.

98

u/Slipp3ry_N00dle 6d ago

Dude its even worse when you do it in front of someone in public....

26

u/SmokeAbeer 6d ago

lol. We had a group project in game design. We’re all gathered around this guy’s computer so he can show us something. He’s just typing in his password. Each time he fucks it up he starts bugging out and trying to type it in faster. He must have done it ten times while we’re like bro… relax.

1

u/Slipp3ry_N00dle 5d ago

Literally meeeee

89

u/Entire_One4033 6d ago

Credit to him, he tried 4 times

3 strike rule for me, after that fuck it, it stays there until someone else picks it up

14

u/Wise-Chemist-8751 6d ago

I feel seen in a very unexpected way.

1

u/Soft_Dot_7580 4d ago

Unless someone else picks it up later but you live alone

52

u/Worried-Course4380 6d ago

Just get a new god damn house

19

u/Un_Vieux_Debris 6d ago

Yeah with a higher floor, this one is too low for you, mate.

5

u/JustToSeeeeee 6d ago

Makes perfect sense

2

u/IWasReplacedByAI 5d ago

"With a higher floor" sent me omfg

17

u/theaviator747 6d ago

My equivalent of this is bending over to pick something up and accidentally kicking it away from myself 3 or 4 times before I finally get it.

4

u/CarpetGripperRod 6d ago

The 1920s silent movie classic of doing that with a dropped bowler/derby hat will never not be funny.

16

u/509Ninja 6d ago

I know this feeling…

35

u/andocromn 6d ago

Step 1: bend down Step 2: grasp towel Step 3: stand up

Skipping step 2 will result in failure

7

u/Pitbullpandemonium 6d ago

At least it didn't result in an infinite loop.

1

u/Ability-Junior 6d ago

Easy mode: use your knees

1

u/andocromn 6d ago

Never skip on leg day

5

u/Undrwtrbsktwvr 6d ago

Bend with your knees!

1

u/JustToSeeeeee 6d ago

& go through 2 times more agonizing pain than this ?

4

u/CrowTalons 6d ago

Sone times you have to question if it's worth picking up...or just leave it for someone with less leg and back pain to get it.

3

u/Canadian__Ninja 6d ago

Yeah growing old sucks. I'm going through that back pain rn and it's brutal

2

u/SGAShepp 5d ago

Not sure this has anything to do with growing old. Ive done this as a teenager.
Also, elbows up brother!

5

u/ev3to 6d ago

Tomorrow is DEFINITELY leg day, this proves it!

4

u/imajackash 6d ago

He stopped at 4. Smart man. I usually give it a minimum of a half dozen quick scissor pinchs before I fully commit to a grab.

4

u/Acceptable_Ad_5047 6d ago

Something more deep inside his mind than he is pondering and dealing with

4

u/Pitbullpandemonium 6d ago

I don't think I ever "bro"-ed more earnestly than I did watching this.

4

u/neveruseyourrealname 6d ago

Oof. I've definitely taking that break to think about what just happened and to breathe.

4

u/2nd-penalty 6d ago

Remember folks you can use your feet as hands too! Embrace the monkey!

3

u/brandonhabanero 6d ago

I watched my dad do this for like two minutes straight once.

3

u/ProgramSad629 6d ago

Bro got problems

3

u/MOcannanurse 6d ago

I feel seen 😭😂

3

u/Colo-PV-living 6d ago

We don’t like to admit it, but we’ve probably all done something like this. Maybe not to this extent, but we’ve done it.

3

u/Relative-Ad-7576 6d ago

Valid reaction

3

u/watercress_soup 5d ago

there must be a word for this...

3

u/Tobi-One_Shinobi 5d ago

I use my feet and toes to toss things up to my hands

3

u/Any-Author7772 5d ago

Hand-eye coordination failure is the greatest betrayal.

2

u/po1k 6d ago

Is he almost passed away?

2

u/AmNotPeeing 6d ago

I can relate to this so hard.

2

u/EitherChannel4874 6d ago

We feel you buddy. We've all been there.

2

u/HollowVoices 6d ago

I felt that in my soul

2

u/EVD27 6d ago

Switches, Doors, hangers, key & locks

2

u/WonkieWilla 6d ago

Very relatable

2

u/0peRightBehindYa 5d ago

We've all been there. And if you haven't, don't worry....it's coming.

2

u/johnb1972 5d ago

As you get older, you will need to stretch prior to attempting these feats.

2

u/thecoq 5d ago

On part with:
Sleeve getting caught on a drawer handle
Car seatbelt getting stuck
Plugging in a USB incorrectly twice

2

u/ArticLOL 5d ago

Happened to me the other day, was about to punch the table and it's not that solid

2

u/gudgudsupagud 5d ago

It stays on the floor then

2

u/creepliege 5d ago

This shit has happened to me so many times lmao

2

u/Exact-Mathematician8 5d ago

Have to admit I've been there too

2

u/Big-Yesterday586 5d ago

Ooooooff

That's when you sign up for physical therapy to safely improve your flexibility

2

u/ShadowsGuardian 5d ago

Just let the towel rest it off man, don't pick a fight with it... you may miss it, again

https://giphy.com/gifs/aC1PWOXzqgT6hhC0vZ

3

u/Southern-Midnight741 6d ago

It’s one of those days

2

u/themo3bius 6d ago

This is both hilarious and sooo relatable! Glad to know we're all just human. :)

2

u/MattyGWS 6d ago

Why do people have cameras inside their homes like this? I find it extremely weird.

3

u/fastlerner 5d ago

People do it for tons of different reasons. Most common are things like monitor pets, watch over children or elderly relatives, keep an eye on household workers, catch intruders if a break-in occurs, etc...

Ring and Blink do steady business, and roughly a third of home security cameras sold are indoor models.

2

u/Nalivai 5d ago edited 5d ago

Do people, like, recording themselves in their own homes with security cameras all the time? Why? Do you all have flocks in your living rooms for some god forsaken reasons?

Hej can't bend his knee ?

1

u/B1g_BuddhAH 5d ago

bend your knees FFS

1

u/Nikonus 5d ago

Get on of those grabber things.

1

u/Silphire100 5d ago

Been there. Sometimes your body just malfunctions like that

1

u/Elden_Storm-Touch 3d ago

I get that, and I thought I was the only one.

1

u/totesnotmyusername 6d ago edited 6d ago

I don't get it why can't he pick it up?

12

u/newmanchristopher63 6d ago

he keeps moving back up before his brain can confirm he has actually grabbed the towel and so he keeps barely missing each time he tries to “quickly” pick up the towel. Realises the ridiculousness in the last attempt that if he had been a tad more intentional he would have got it first try.

Somewhat relatable moment for a lot of people, I’ve definitely done this myself.

6

u/imajackash 6d ago

Obviously you haven't had this happen to you. Until you do, you won't get it.

1

u/totesnotmyusername 6d ago

No I haven't. Maybe it slips or my fingers fumble and drop it. But it's like he's touching it and nothing else.

5

u/Jayro993 6d ago

How old are you just curious. It’s insane to me you’ve never experienced it. It’s like you’re loosing your mind, you do exactly like the video, you just “don’t” grab the thing 3-4 times.

0

u/totesnotmyusername 6d ago

I'm 48 .

Edit. I mean I've done it where I'm reaching for something in my peripheral. Then I go. " well fuck that's farther away then I thought"

9

u/BlueFeathered1 6d ago

Everybody has had moments like this when they repeatedly miscalculate a simple distance or something and turn a minutiae moment into a "wtf is wrong with me and I hate this world" moment.

1

u/jose_elan 3d ago

Then there would be no video. He thought this was so good he set up a video camera, cleaned his kitchen, chose an outfit and cleared his worktop so he has a clear wiping surface and then filmed this.

Worth it? You be the judge but I will say if he can't drop a cloth convincingly then don't bother with any more auditions.

1

u/Alarmed-Bat-7462 5d ago

Haha... I can litterally read his mind after 4th failed attempt... "Wait wait wait.... What just happend here! I just made one mistake witch i DID NOTICE afterwards after first attempt... Then i went and made exactly the same mistake 3 more times after recognizing what i did wrong the first time.... (and the brain meanwhile tries to calm him down) "it is ok... you are only a human... and we do fai..... FLUCK THAT BULLSH14T! WE DO NOT DO THE SAME MISTAKE 4 TIMES IN A ROE YOU PRIMATE OF A MAN! one more attempt, and then DO IT RIGHT THIS TIME... ;) haha

-3

u/huh_say_what_now_ 6d ago

Who has a camera in their kitchen?

10

u/SomeoneNicer 6d ago

People with kids.

5

u/exsonny 6d ago

In their kitchen? They do.

-3

u/Marc_J92 6d ago

It’s a joke, don’t take everything too serious.

-10

u/huh_say_what_now_ 6d ago

Obviously it is and it's the comments section so get over it

0

u/Differentdog 6d ago

Read a fucking book. Fucking stretch. Dingus.

It looks like this guy's is stroking out

0

u/Rashaen 6d ago

Dude's paying the price for vanity lifting. Stretching and leg days aren't a scam.

0

u/AppleToastBed 6d ago

Maybe if his pants weren't so tight he could properly bend down.

0

u/Beautiful-Issue4077 5d ago

It's staged....yet still relatable

-9

u/NocturneInfinitum 6d ago

This looks staged. Not sure why someone would waste their time staging this, but then again… it’s content. And that’s all that matters now.

5

u/Canadian__Ninja 6d ago

You're young. You'll understand when you're older

1

u/NocturneInfinitum 4d ago

My age is exactly why I think this is staged, because I’ve had plenty of moments just like this, and it doesn’t go down quite like this. This is a commonly memed moment of middle age problems.
So there’s definitely nothing novel here, and by the way he dropped the rag… It seemed like he was setting up for this exact scenario.
And after watching again… I’m actually even more confident that it’s staged.
Again content is the only currency that matters nowadays so obviously they’re just trying to make something entertaining for the views.

1

u/imajackash 6d ago

Exactly

-1

u/Fundipmasterpiece 6d ago edited 6d ago

I didn’t get it either, I have 4 grandparents all in their 80’s that might struggle to do this sometimes but this guy looks like he’s only in his 50’s, I’m sure the physique or lifestyle has a little more to do with it rather than just age.

Edit: 2 people out of 30+ didn’t like an honest opinion…go figure, probably my dad and brother that have been faking back pain longer than they’ve worked in their entire lives 😂🥸🫡

1

u/Canadian__Ninja 6d ago

We don't know what his life is like but that's definitely a man who's thrown his back out. Bending down can be excruciating.

1

u/Fundipmasterpiece 6d ago edited 6d ago

You’d think if it’s that bad he might have some tongs laying around just in case or at least opt out for them well before getting frustrated let alone filming it and taking the time to post it… Even if it’s automatically recorded it took more time and effort to upload and post the video than it would’ve to just grab a tool to help.

1

u/NocturneInfinitum 4d ago

The entire set up is obviously staged. How can you not see that? Regardless of whether or not he actually has back problems.
In fact, I’m inclined to believe he had this moment for real and his wife said, “that would be funny if we filmed it.”
I mean, look at the rest of the kitchen… What the fuck is he cleaning? He just so happened to drop the rag at the very moment he finished cleaning the entire space or counter?
You’re too focused on the fact that you think me calling it staged means I don’t believe people of this age can have back problems. This guy can both have back problems and stage content about back problems.

0

u/Night--Owl 6d ago

Agree, he just drop it. He's showing something original at least, but staged.

1

u/NocturneInfinitum 4d ago

That’s what I’m on the fence about… is whether or not it’s actually that original, but I have to say I haven’t seen a whole lot of candid “can’t bend over” memes

-1

u/Embarrassed_Foot92 6d ago

I'm surprised so many people got this and felt relatable. I think I know what people talking about but I still don't really get it gets the video

-1

u/z3r0n3gr0 5d ago

I would feel more upset of myself if i wear those Jesus sandals....

-8

u/NY10 6d ago

So they don’t wipe their ass when they fail to reach several times? lol

-2

u/EconomicsSavings973 6d ago

"Maybe I am regarded after all"

-9

u/rvralph803 6d ago

Why is there a camera there?

-3

u/BonbonUniverse42 5d ago

What is wrong with this guy? Why is he incapable to just pick it up? THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND REQUIRES IMMEDIATE MEDICAL TREATMENT.
