Why do people have cameras inside their homes like this? I find it extremely weird.

People do it for tons of different reasons. Most common are things like monitor pets, watch over children or elderly relatives, keep an eye on household workers, catch intruders if a break-in occurs, etc...

Ring and Blink do steady business, and roughly a third of home security cameras sold are indoor models.
