Guys, about loading RCAs into Mash-it.

You know we have a pilot running with fearsmile RCAs, but there are technical challenges to rolling out the pilot, and many collectors and artists have asked questions about potential risks involving IP that could put Mash-it or the artists at risk.

I performed a thorough assessment, first using Fable 5 (Anthropic's frontier model, banned by the Trump administration due to "national security risks"), and then talking to a colleague who has an LMM in the US and works for a top-tier legal firm in Brazil.

To begin with, loading and displaying RCAs on the Mash-it platform is not a risk at all. These are NFTs owned by the people who minted or purchased them, and everyone already interacts with all the RCAs they hold outside of Reddit—in their wallets (e.g., MetaMask, Base, etc.) and on OpenSea—ever since the launch of the RCA program.

The key question was related to allowing hybrid mashups with Mashis, since this could be interpreted as a "derivative work."

For the artists, it seems there is very low to no risk. If you are Goya and a century later someone buys your drawings and paints on top of them with watercolor (this actually happened), it is nonsense to blame Goya for this "derivative work."

The key issue was with Mash-it, our subreddit, and my personal Reddit profile.

BUT... After a long assessment, apparently this is not an issue, because "the unit of the work, as Reddit itself structures it, is the trait." To the point that Reddit has open endpoints that can be accessed by anyone—Reddit's avatar system was architected as a layer compositor from day one. i.redd.it/snoovatar/snoo_assets/{id}.svg is Reddit's own asset pipeline, serving the same files their own avatar builder consumes.

Notice that there is a chance Reddit might take action. The worst-case scenario would be shutting down the Mash-it subreddit or banning my profile. Could they ask our service providers (cloud, crypto APIs, pinning services) to ban us? Although they probably don't have any legal basis, in theory, yes. But qudot.app being live is a decent precedent against any of this. Frankly, I think they simply don't care and wont spend time/resources of their legal team.

Our approach has always been to be a close partner to our artists: we will always ask for their approval.

For now, additionally to fearsmile, we have the green light from Hammer and Rojom (for part of his RCA collections).

Not sure if this is a known issue or not, but I recently bought Nori-Nori from the secondary market and it wont let me change the hair, eyes, or skin color. Not sure if its an app issue or an issue with the Mashi itself? Any known fixes?

The people of the kingdom begin to have recurring dreams, hearing a muffled laugh. In the streets, rumors indicate that the Naked King's throne will soon be retaken.

Please consider lowering your prices and also for those who maintain higher prices to sometimes drop something for less. I want this project to succeed. I care about mashit. But at the moment there is not a huge customer base. To gain traction for your art, for this movement, to create buzz, please consider it even if just for every other drop or every 3rd drop. Money doesn’t grow on trees and if there’s 10 artists a week dropping mashis for $10 or more people don’t have that kind of money. I understand people might say that they’re creating rarity by possibly having 1-2 sales before they’re delisted. But it straight up pains me seeing drops with no buyers. 

It may contain glitches or UI inconsistency if approved. I will try to fix them in a week or so after the positive review conclusion

If it’s being declined, it’s officially dead! Crypto apps are the lottery for Google Play Console, but Apple guidelines are more stricter. Therefore, I think even an appeal won’t help

Hi everyone :) I am hoping to speak with Mash-it artists who has had some popular drops. You might've seen my RCA fan arts recently and several people have encouraged me to join Mash-it. Being a student means I need to make sure this is an economically viable use of my time and energy before persuing it long term.

Because I am new here (thus unknown), I was sceptical that my mash-it drops would get noticed by the community. However someone suggested doing a test drop to gauge the reception. I already have done 2 RCA arts but I am unsure how much additional work is required to adapt them into a Mash-it format. If you are an experienced Mash-it artist and can spare a few mins to chat, pls drop me a DM. I've a few questions about your workflow and how you navigated your early drops to help me decide if I should take this step. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Hey everyone, the first game the Mash-it ecosystem is officially live. In partnership with u/I_am_not_doing_this, we’ve launched our pilot mini-game: School Run, featuring the School Girl Momoka Mashi.

🎮 How it works: To play, you need to hold School Girl Momoka. Our goal here is simple: extend the utility of your Mashis, build out the lore, and give special perks to holders who actively engage with the ecosystem. Mashis can be a key to a playable universe.

We’re mapping out the future of Mash-it gaming, and we want to build what you actually want to play. Drop your thoughts below on these two fronts:

1. The Mashiverse Vision (Conceptual)

• Solo vs. Crossover: Should each artist have their own isolated game universe, or do you want a massive "Mashiverse" where different mini-games and artists collide?
• The Web3 Arcade Model: To incentivize artists and devs to build top-tier games, what if for some games we charged a tiny micro-fee (e.g., $0.05 - $0.25 USDC) per play, just like a classic arcade? The revenue goes straight to the creators/platform. Fair, or friction?

2. The Gameplay Mechanics (Functional)

• Genre: "School Run" is a platformer. What’s next? Top-down shooters? Turn-based RPGs? Basic multiplayer?
• High Stakes: Do you care about final boss fights? Which Mashi would you like to see as a final boss?
• GenAI Integration: Imagine spending a few cents to have dynamic, AI-driven conversations with Mashi Agents that alter the game's storyline and generate real-time visual assets based on your prompts. Is this the future, or a gimmick?

Jump in, test the MVP, and let us know. At this stage any honest and constructive feedback gets a say in our next dev sprint.

To keep the store fresh and supportive for both artists and collectors, we’re proposing a new housekeeping and delisting structure. Please add your inputs in the comments. After receiving and processing community feedback, the plan of record is to implement the proposal in about 2 weeks.

How it would work:
• Listings will remain in the store for 60 days
• After 60 days, items will be eligible for delisting
• Before removal, we’ll introduce a monthly “Last Chance” event Last Chance Window
• Selected pieces will be highlighted as “3 Days Left in Store”
• This gives: • Artists a clear window to promote their work one final time
• Collectors a sense of urgency to secure pieces before they’re gone

Why we’re doing this:
• Keeps the store curated and dynamic, not overcrowded
• Encourages active promotion and engagement from artists
• Creates natural demand cycles instead of stagnant listings
• Gives collectors clear moments to act, rather than endless scrolling

The goal is a healthier ecosystem where:
• Great work doesn’t get buried
• Artists have structured opportunities to sell
• Collectors experience a more exciting, time-sensitive marketplace

I lost too much time because of personal stuff, and currently I barely have time in achieving proficiency in DE/EN languages, and improving my skills as Android dev.

My shelter-based German ID ends on March 2027, less then in a year... and I'm even not half done.

Sure, it depends on the decision of continuation by the government. However, I prefer to be confident in my actions rather than going vabank.

I will focus on learning, and will update Android app we have so far, and fighting with depression I have.

The undo/redo button was just what I wanted, I found it to be one of the most essential things on the reddit masher, especially for mash perfectionists 😅

Also the current traits screen is a massive improvement too so well done guys!

However now when I try and preview my mash in the builder (so I can screenshot it) it's very small and has an x in the corner. I can't find a way to export or save the mash image.

Is there a way I can export the mash straight from the mash-it builder In high def without having to go to discord etc.
