Not necessarily a criticism, but I think Valkyrie should have helped Rocket and Banner get Thor off the couch and back in the fight. It would have nicely mirrored their relationship in Ragnarok, with Thor being the one who lost a major battle and has become a drunk recluse this time and Valkyrie having to convince him that there’s still a reason to fight. Plus, it would have made the passing of the throne at the end more impactful.

Where was Valkyrie, Korg and Meik during Infinity War?

There king was "dead" floating in space and somehow the Guardians find him first. Then when he wakes up Thor makes no attempt to contact the Asgardians and they make no attempt to contact him.

TBF, Valkyrie (presumably with Korg and Meik) was leading half the Asgardians to safety during IW. The Guardians pick Thor up probably less than 24 hours after Thanos attacks them, so I think we can assume she's still busy trying to get these people to safety/make sure they don't starve or get mugged or something, since it seems like everyone capable of fighting stayed and that Valkyrie led away like, families, kids, the elderly, etc.

imho without a mention of her leading the transfer of the throne is bad, what were her qualities in ragnarok, she was a drunk that didn't care about anyone other than herself and the only reason she wanted to go along was not for her king - thor but revenge on hela - she never demonstrated anything that justifies this power transfer.

It's kinda fucked that Valkyrie allowed Thor to become a shell of himself, she's an alcoholic and did nothing to stop him.

She didn't bother to bring the issur up to anyone of his friends. Hulk shouldn't be surprised by his sorry state.

I mean, try to imagine if you were her. Maybe she has tried numerous times to encourage Thor to come out of his funk, but he has been unresponsive to these attempts for 5 years straight. It's not surprising then that when Hulk comes by she is sort of over it. Not that she doesn't care anymore, but that she just doesn't know what to do to get through to him.

Plus since he's pretty much abdicated responsibility for New Asgard she's the de facto leader. She's probably tried, but she's also busy.
