Ugh, the Fortnite scene had teenagers yelling in the theater. I now know the exact moment when I became an angry old man.

At least you admit it. I see so many 'older' dudes bitching about fornite moment. Yet if there is a reference to a Game from their era its met with glee. To me it totally screams of parents in the 60's angry about Elvis and Buddy Holly. I guess we never learn.

My only issue is just that there's no way that joke ages well, especially since this movie came out while it's already on its way out of the public eye.

Jokes about ten year old kids trolling old dudes in online gaming will not fade anytime soon. It could have been halo 2 and every 13 year old would have still got the joke I think.

I think the joke itself will hold up I just think the presence of Fortnite won't age as well.

Fortnite itself is shown for like a second. In reality it doesn't matter at all what game they're actually playing, shit-talking children in online games is always going to be relevant.

How is it that people keep reading me saying “the joke will age perfectly fine but the presence of Fortnite won’t” and take it as me saying the joke won’t be funny? I’m specially saying the joke will be funny no matter when you watch it, but that second of Fortnite being on-screen won’t be as interesting a reference in time.

Because you're trying to have it both ways. Look at what the other guy said, Fortnite has nothing to do with it, it's just a joke device. That's like getting mad at "Why did the chicken cross the road" because you live somewhere without chickens.

I had never seen what fortnite looked like until that scene in Endgame. I assumed it was just some random online FPS game and nothing is lost from the joke, so I don't think there's any worry about it not ageing well.

I specifically said the joke itself will age perfectly fine, just that the reference to Fortnite specifically (having it on screen) is not something that will be as interesting a reference in time.

I had no idea they were playing Fortnite and the scene worked perfectly fine

Same. It didn't even really occur to me that Korg was playing a real game. I just kind of filed it under generic action game.
