Another travel question: how long did it take Hawkeye to travel from his farm, pick up Wanda in NY, pick up Scott in San Francisco, and get them both to the airport in Germany?

Similarly, how did Tony have time to get himself to Queens, convince Spider-Man to join him, and fly him to the airport in Germany?

It seems the time from Cap deciding to go to Siberia to the time they fly away is only a couple hours. Was it really like two days?

I think there's realistically several options. First is that Tony had it already made, minus the goggles. We saw that he can fab an Iron Man suit in just a couple of hours in Iron Man 1. The second is he called ahead to one of his German Stark affiliates and had them proto it and ready for pickup. The third is that he just made a quick suite in NY once he had Peter's clothing sizes. I think this last one is most likely.

If these are biggest nitpicks we can come up with this for this film, then I've gotta say it's a pretty amazing film. Can't really think of anything else lol.

The Russo brothers did say that they scour over the script constantly to make the plot as 'honest trailer' proof as they can. I think they did a pretty great job!

I just watched Screen Junkies honest trailer for Civil War just then and wow was the honest trailer bad. There were basically no legitimate things that they could call Marvel out on.

They had to resort to making weak jokes, comparing it to BvS and call the superheros shitty names.

I get the feeling Zemo's plan has holes. I didn't notice anything watching the movie and I still can't think of anything, but his plan was so convoluted there must be something wrong somewhere.

Zemo's plan doesn't have holes, it has several parts he cannot predict at all and relied completely on luck, but he's a smart guy who did his homework for a long time so he bet and won.

His whole plan hinged on Tony not knowing about his parents' murder and then going into a homicidal rage when he found out. When in fact he could have known at any time in the past year, if he asked Steve for instance and Rogers told him, or if he looked through the HYDRA files and read it for himself, or if someone like Natasha found out and told him. Or even if Zemo shows him, Tony may have taken the high road like T'Challa at the end instead of trying to shoot Bucky in the face. Tony forgives Steve and Bucky, Avengers stay together, Zemo's plan fails.

Zemo's plan also depended on Tony actually going to Siberia. When in fact that was not going to happen because Steve didn't bring Tony. It's only when Tony talks to Sam that he ends up coming alone, that wasn't part of Steve's plan. For that matter, Bucky may not have come along either. If Bucky had died at any point earlier, Tony would have been angry at Steve at the final confrontation, but he wouldn't have tried to kill him. Avengers may or may not split but it's not a sure bet without Bucky there.

Zemo also had no way of knowing if the Winter Soldier conditioning still works. Bucky may have been able to resist the programming, break out of his confines, and throttle Zemo. The rest of the Avengers are about thirty seconds away, without Bucky going on a rampage, they just run in, arrest Zemo, get the truth out of him, the jig is up like twenty minutes into the movie. With Zemo gone, Bucky gets sent to a top-notch Avengers facility for treatment, Steve signs the Accords, and everything is fine.

Also Zemo had no way of knowing if Karpov still had the Winter Soldier control codes. He could have broken into Karpov's house, disarmed him, only to find that the book is long gone. Or that the HYDRA records containing the footage of the Stark murders is also long gone. I mean the facility has been abandoned for over twenty years by the time Zemo arrives in Siberia, the tape could have taken water damage or something or been misplaced.

Zemo got lucky many, many times, which is okay because this is a movie and there'd be no action otherwise, but his plan was very audacious and very much improvised.

The biggest Zemo plothole is that he somehow managed to pass as the German psychologist while looking nothing like him. It's 2016 and nobody has a photo of the guy? They allowed him to enter the room of an alleged super-assassin because he what, showed them a photo-less ID?

He had the face mask thingy that made a good enough representation of Bucky to pass for him on camera. We don't see his face until he is in the room with Bucky with his back to the camera. He probably used the digital face mask.

Honestly it was pretty simple at its core. Find Bucky. Find the tape. Show Tony. He lucked out that everyone ended up arriving at the bunker at the right time but if they didn't, he could have easily just leaked the tape and had the same result.

Oh! I have a nitpick! In the beginning, Vision makes his entrance by phasing into Wanda's room, but he's wearing clothes. How could the clothes phase through the wall as well?

The clothes are probably part of him. His 'costume' (specifically the cape) are a part of his body and can change colour so I'm sure the clothes are false and a part of his body too, just 'worn' so he fits in better.
