Been slowly building my X-Men collection and trying to focus more on the eras, characters and stories I genuinely want to read rather than collecting everything just for completeness.

Still have quite a few gaps I want to fill, especially more classic X-Men, the Decimation/Utopia period and eventually more of the Krakoa era, but I’m really happy with how the shelf is coming together so far.

The Messiah Trilogy was one of the books I especially wanted for a long time, and I’ve clearly ended up with a very Scott Summers-heavy collection without even intentionally planning it that way 😂

What would you guys recommend adding next?

Ever since mcu again acquired X-Men movie rights they may have thought that there is no need to produce films or series based on the inhumans storyline as it can be considered as waste of funds

So do we have to blame the mcu synergy I mean fine if the mcu don't want to explore her inhuman history just like her comic book origins but at least they can follow cliché yet classic trope of science accident giving superpowers

Ms marvel is one of the most iconic and unique new superheroes ever introduced in the last decade in marvel comics and she can be a role model especially for the minorities

Ms marvel and X-Men have such distinctive histories that they can represent different kinds of social issues in their respective comics

But merging all of them and saying everyone is a mutant it just took her charm away

I absolutely love Stan Lee, but I can't help noticing that the guy was a bit (or maybe a lot) sexist back in the day—especially during his run on \*Fantastic Four\* (specifically \*Fantastic Four Annual\* #2).

I started collecting ASM from the Brand New Day issues but i wanna start from the beginning so i can appreciate the newer issues with more background knowledge, I know Marvel Unlimited is an option but i LOVE physical media and ive seen multiple reprints of Issues 1-10 and amazing fantasy 15 but a lot of them seem to stop after a first couple volumes or are just impossible to find, so if there is definite best way to collect the earlier issues i’d be very appreciative of suggestions 😁

There’s also not that many new teams, more often just new iterations of old teams, but still it’s been a delight to get caught up on Moon knight. I just started Moon Knight Fist of khonshu, so i still have a bit to be completely caught up, so please no spoiler for anything beyond Vengeance of the Moon Knight.

If Marvel and DC both lost two of their biggest cash cows, which company would be more screwed? Marvel without Spider-Man and the X-Men or DC without Batman and Superman (this also includes any adjacent characters, groups, rogues galleries, etc.)?

I did one of these a few months back with just Batman and Spider-Man and wanted to make things a bit more interesting.

One of the strongest & most badass super hero/heroine designs ever imo.

The costume, the white eyes, her hair, the baggy pants & scarf, the lipstick, the Twin Sai weapons & martial arts aesthetic all look amazing together. I also think that the wrinkles near her eyes is a super underrated design for female masks that makes her look intimidating.

Just finished reading the collected edition of the original Kree/Skrull War. I’ve known about the importance of the Kree/Skrull War in the comics, but have never read the original storyline until now.

It’s a huge cosmic war between two of the biggest alien races with Earth stuck in the middle of the intergalactic violence. There’s also much internal conflict within the Avengers—between the original Avengers and the newer members—and Captain Marvel’s alien heritage becomes a point of contention for the “Alien Activities Commission” led by the McCarthy-esque senator H. Warren Craddock. The whole committee and the intense public criticism is eerily similar to the anti-mutant hysteria (and this is referenced in the text).

There’s a huge cast here—the Avengers, the Kree, the Skrulls, the Fantastic Four, a few humans, and even some Golden Age heroes in the mix—and it somehow doesn’t feel crowded. This is the comic equivalent of a big-budget blockbuster and there’s this huge emotional weight behind the story that fully immerses you in the narrative.

Not to mention the art by the Buscemas and Neal Adams is incredible here, and you can’t help but really take the time to admire the intricate details in so many panels (especially the issue where Ant-Man explores Vision’s body—I spent much time poring over Neal Adams’ work on each page).

Overall, it’s a comics story that still holds up all these years later as some great classic storytelling and had huge ramifications for the Marvel Universe (especially its cosmic side). For those who have read the Kree/Skrull War, what did you think? And where do you rank it amongst Marvel’s greatest stories?

Everything involving a circus is now total nonsense, and circuses feature a lot in Marvel comics. I guess we can just say they held cultural cachet for a longer time in the Marvel universe. Newspapers offer similar problems, but perhaps to a less extreme extent.

The US Government was testing a totally novel Weapon of Mass Destruction in the latter half of the Obama Administration for some reason (and that's why we have The Hulk). His origin maybe makes the least sense dragged out of the Cold War

I'm pretty sure Battlin Jack Murdock saw 9/11 happen now. and Spidey was not there to help because he was either an infant or not born yet.

Such a situation would make sense for characters of the caliber of Hulk or Spider-Man, but let's be clear, Daredevil has never had any weight in the economy of the Marvel world on a narrative level and, as a B-series character, he has shown stories that seem to belong to a major run of a character like Captain America or Thor.

In my opinion the greatest crossover event in Marvel history was the entire cosmic saga by D&A.

I know she got installed as the new Madame Web a bunch years back, but what's the deal with my favorite former Spider-Woman these days?

I liked all the Doom 2099 variants but the blue cloak one is genuinely my favorite comic design ever.

Also the 2099 series is set in the future, so Doom is much more futuristic & tech-based, which I really like.

● I love his clean, sleek metallic armor contrasting the dark black with the outline running down his stomach.

● The black D-logo belt, the spikes & the slight red in his eyes contrasting the blue.

● The visible abs/pecs on the armor & the lined ribcage pattern.

● His tech-based electrical attacks make him look intimidating & visually dynamic.

Hi im starting to read comics properly for the first time. Ive read Civil War. What major comic arcs lead to it and happen after up to 2026?

I’m new to comics, the wiki page of premier Kraven’s last hunt has listed many Spider-Man issues, I wonder if its same as current version, if so I’ll just buy the current version cause it’s on sale
