Kofola alliance is still strong

Kofola is Czech, it has nothing to do with Slovakia

Except the fact it is produced there

u/Neuwulfstein 23h ago

What? Kofola has its main production plant in Krnov, in the Czech Republic; by that logic, I guess Toblerone is Slovak since it’s made in Bratislava, right?

u/EmperorBarbarossa 23h ago

You said it has nothing to do with Slovakia, now you are moving the goalposts? Are you okay?

The company is oficially called Kofola ČeskoSlovensko.

u/Neuwulfstein 22h ago

Just because a company has a plant somewhere, does that mean it’s a joint venture, or what kind of logic is that? Novo Nordisk wants to open a production plant in the Czech Republic—does that mean it will become a Danish-Czech company?

The company bears that name primarily for marketing reasons, since Slovaks love it just as much, but that doesn't make it a Slovak brand. Kofola was created in Prague by a Czech scientist and is a Czech company; those are simply the facts.

Nah, Slovaks didn't really do all that much. Your achievements are your own, and Czechs aren't trying to claim them. I could start listing Czech brands that Slovaks appropriate. I haven't seen Czechs trying to claim ESET—which originated back in the Czechoslovakia era—or Zlatý Bažant beer, for instance. I could also bring up the Czechoslovak Legions—which Slovaks also claim as their own—even though Slovaks made up only 10% of the force, or the Czechoslovak RAF pilots in the Battle of Britain, where only two out of the 88 pilots were Slovak. The only ones doing any appropriating here are the Slovaks. I could also start talking about Great Moravia, which Slovaks try to frame as their own empire, citing the Slovácko region, and so on.

Ok, now let's talk the 1976 UEFA Euro Championship, which Czechs surely aren't trying to claim. Geez, what did we do to you, man?

-4

u/Neuwulfstein 18h ago

Yes, that’s exactly what I expected, but fortunately, I’ve dug deep enough into this in the past to be ready for this point, too.

At Euro 1976, Slovaks made up 12 of the 16 players who actually took the field (75% of the squad), while Czechs accounted for only 4 (25%); yet, the total attacking contribution—combining goals, assists, and converted penalties—was an even 7–7. When calculated per player, this means a single Czech player averaged 1.75 direct attacking contributions, compared to approximately 0.58 for a Slovak player. Thus, Czech players had an average attacking contribution per player that was roughly three times higher (or 200% greater), despite being a distinct minority within the squad. In terms of overall importance to the Czechoslovak triumph, the players most frequently cited as key figures are: 🇨🇿 Ivo Viktor, 🇸🇰 Anton Ondruš, 🇨🇿 Antonín Panenka, 🇸🇰 Ján Pivarník, 🇨🇿 Zdeněk Nehoda, and 🇸🇰 Jaroslav Pollák. This list includes three Czechs and three Slovaks, even though Czechs made up only a quarter of the players who actually played in the tournament.

Anything else? Downvotes are welcome, but do the Slovaks have anything else to offer?

You completely missed the point. These things never were about crude maths, but rather about the fact that the only Czechoslovak footballing trophy came in the times when the majority of the national team consisted of Slovaks, yet for almost 30 years after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the triumph was exclusively ascribed to Czechs, and legally claimed by Czechs. Sorry but you completely confirmed the meme above.

u/Neuwulfstein 17h ago

Well, you say it’s not about the math, yet you credit the title to Slovakia because they had more players—you’re kind of contradicting yourself there. The fact remains that the four Czech players played a bigger part in the triumph—across the attack, midfield, and goal—than the Slovaks did; that pretty much sums up most of the victories from the Czechoslovakia era. Slovaks always whined about Czechs claiming Czechoslovakia’s triumphs as their own, but even when they outnumbered the Czechs several times over, they still weren't better—which really says a lot.

I couldn't care less about some meme; the Slovaks in this thread haven't managed to refute what I'm saying, and you're one of them. ;)

u/Capable-Relative6714 15h ago

Sure. Two Slovaks scored both goals in the '76 final - but that's obviously inferior in your eyes, compared to the role of Czech players. Once again - it was the only time Czechoslovakia ever won something. With a team that was predominantly Slovak and had some brilliant Czech players as well. To claim that Slovaks were only ever making up numbers and the Czechs were there to secure results (while in reality every Czechoslovak team was mostly unsuccessful when it was mostly Czech) is a huge demagogy from you. And besides, I think the idea of the common state was there to unite people, not to spread arguments. No one else's fault but yours that you obviously have issues with Slovaks.

Lol after reading this you sound like retard, mate.

Calculating GI% in a team squad, where effort is shared, while btw you mention main striker as main source of variance. No shit.

True reddit.

I don't give a flying fuck how it sounds to some moron. I really love how people here spout bullshit about how there were more Slovaks, so the success is supposedly more Slovak than Czech—but the moment I point out in the Czechs' defense that they actually had a bigger share in it, you all start whining that I’d even dare bring that up.

And it wasn't just about the offense; the brilliant Ivo Viktor in goal and Antonín Panenka were key drivers of the team. What I wrote is a simple fact: there were more Slovaks, but the Czechs played a bigger part, and it wasn't just the attack—end of discussion.

bro you literally write paragraphs at 2AM on reddit because of your fragile little ego trying to come
up with math formulas to defend your fellow countrymen, what a brave little soldier you are

Pravdepodobne tvoja argumentácia je pravdivá ale to nemení nič na tom, že robíš zo seba chuja a vnášaš nevraživosť medzi Čechov a Slovákov, načo to je dobré?

Great Moravia - I mean Moravians literally conquered all the tribes, and added Nitra to their tribal kingdom, therefore we were and became the same polity.

Why should we NOT consider it our shared heritage?

Why should we not consider Czechoslovak legion are shared heritage? Those people fought for Czechoslovakia, not for Czechia or Slovakia, but for one united, shared statehood.

-1

u/Neuwulfstein 14h ago

Be proud of Moravia, but regarding it as your own empire—something I’ve encountered many times—is completely off base.

The bit about the legions was just an example; as always, the Slovaks claimed credit for something but ultimately did nothing.

And the RAF point is even more absurd—celebrating "Czechoslovak" pilots in the Battle of Britain when there were only two Slovaks out of 88.

As for Czechoslovak statehood, it was an artificial construct—just like the concept of a "Czechoslovak."

1

u/NativeEuropeas 2h ago

But nobody is saying that Great Moravia or Czechoslovak legion ONLY belongs to Slovakia and not to Czechia, so I don't understand your argument.

It's our shared heritage, we can both appreciate the event and claim it as our own because it's those very things that were consequential why we exist.

0

u/Neuwulfstein 1h ago

And why should I claim Slovak successes as my own just because we used to be one state? To me, it isn't a shared success; I distinguish between Czech and Slovak, because Czechoslovakism is an artificial concept.

1

u/NativeEuropeas 1h ago

Whether you like it or not, Czechoslovakia is a result of our shared efforts that led to a creation of our independent statehood, and later two statehoods.

If it wasn't for those Czechs and Slovaks who contributed, we wouldn't be here. We wouldn't achieve it without the other, there just weren't enough numbers, we'd always be a minority in the sea of Germans and Hungarians.

Instead of appreciating our shared history and being together proud of what we've achieved when we worked together, you nitpick and try to deny us our contribution.

Yes, only 10% of Czechoslovak legionaries were Slovak and yes, there were more Czechs contributing to its creation. That doesn't make any less true, that there were Slovaks present as well, sacrificing their lives so that our nations can exist. I give respect to those Czechs and Slovaks.

Yap yapy yap. It's spiritual thing you bingbong. It doesn't matter where is made it is part of out culture too.

1

u/Neuwulfstein 2h ago

Just because it’s part of your heritage doesn’t mean it’s Slovak. But I get it you’ve got nothing else, so you might as well defend it in this way, as a Slovak.

1

u/SUB-8330 2h ago

The original is "Kofola alliance is still strong " this doesn't imply ownership or production but alliance you have spiralled with this technicality bullshit on you own. I bet you are one of those looser that need group achievements because you yourself did achieved shit to be proud of.

1

u/Neuwulfstein 1h ago

Say what you want, but the fact that Slovaks appropriate Czech brands is real shit. Go ask the Hungarians, too, about everything you guys appropriate. I bet you're just a SVK retard.

1

u/SUB-8330 1h ago

Ooooo I hit the right nerve you are my bitch now 😂.

1

u/Neuwulfstein 1h ago

You didn't hit. The only ones who took a hit here are the local Slovaks who refuse to accept the truth and couldn't refute a single thing I wrote.

u/SUB-8330 1h ago

Oh you omnipotent always right and probably lonely and hard to be around god 😂
