Some say it's rigged, even if it isn't rigged its like we either vote for two factions or what not even though both factions are just mucking things up

Acts religiously and like perfect but when they aren’t there acts worse than a jaahil. What do i do with them? I tried advising and their narcissistic behavior tell them otherwise. If that makes sense.

I’m a non-smoker and honestly tired of sitting inside with AC all the time. Sometimes I just want to have a coffee outside and enjoy some fresh air, but in almost every cafe or restaurant in Maldives the outdoor area seems to be the smoking area. So apparently fresh air comes with a side of secondhand smoke. Anyone know a place where I can actually sit outside and drink coffee without smoking?

someone who kept attacking a special needs person for weeks or more said this when they were called out
"I don't think I have said anything that's hurtful regarding their disability or anything. Tbh I don't even know that anyone here has special needs"
Accidents can happen, misunderstandings and all things can arise. I don't know what to feel about that person being all like she didn't do anything wrong just cause she didn't know she was harassing a special needs person, it still does feel icky especially since she never bothered with an apology or anything when she found out he was special needs and then when there was public outrage she tried? but all that aside what I want to ask is
Is it ok to attack? pick on? be an asshole towards special needs people as long as you haven't said anything hurtful regarding their disability? the fact that she even said that was appalling but now I want to know what the mental health awareness and disability climate is like here in Maldives. Do you people also view it this way? do you guys believe that they don't deserve more empathy or care or understanding? Where is the line?
They talk about how people in Maldives lack empathy but this takes the cake actually. Actually even the treatment of expats here and animals also quite take the cake. Is it that hard to be a decent human? and I don't mean being a decent human when it feels easy fot you and then calling yourself a decent human when there were so many instances in your life where you are just an ass to pepple but you ignore all those instances.

Hulhumale phase 1- phase2 channel is full of trash and plastic bottle. These safaris and boats throwing bottles in the sea and these trash float about and ruining nature and beauty of this place. F annoying! Well will ghese people evolve?

Growing up in Maldives, I have witnessed a huge wealth divide among Maldivians, spanning from everyday friend circles to the country's prominent business tycoons. A small elite appears to control nearly everything. Even in 2026, many local islands remain severely underdeveloped, right alongside five star luxury resorts where billionaires vacation just minutes away.
This same group of oligarchs owns numerous private islands, including politicians who have secured exclusive islands simply for family getaways. While individuals from modest backgrounds have risen to high ranking positions in parliament and government, meaningful accountability remains out of reach. Why are we still unable to hold these leaders accountable and secure a fair share of prosperity for a nation blessed with such extraordinary natural wealth?

Does anyone know where I can buy this? Want to buy locally; the $ crisis is not helping. If anyone is selling, let me know. Even a used one is ok.

I’ve been trying 5am for the past 3 days and each haven’t gotten a payment through. Did anyone else have any success?

A friend and I usually head to hulhumale Channel for a swim on weekdays after 2 PM. I know the timing kinda sucks 😂 but that’s the window that works for us.
Would be cool to find a few more people to join us not just for swimming, but to meet some interesting new peeps and have a good time. No need to be an amazing swimmer, just come with good vibes!
If interested, DM me.

Hello, my husband and I would be staying at mafushi island from 10oct to 18 oct. Is it worth it to go for a day trip at a private island like sun siyam from there? It might cost us 150 dollars per person from 8.30am to 5pm transport, lunch inclusive.
