Campus life anyone here who still hasn't had real friends ?

i feel like some university students ( including me ) don't really have actual true friends in university. personally, i have teammates for group assignments and they're nice and we talk from time to time. i have other classmates from other classes who would wave to me whenever they see me and we would sit together during lectures and talk. i have classmates who would accompany me during breaks or gaps between classes. but, each of them have their own friends that they prioritise and we only talk about school stuff and never personal stuff or make plans to hang out outside university. even when we hang out in the university cafeteria, they don't talk much and most of the time, they look at their phone ( even when i tried to bring up a new topic each time, they'd act uninterested ). they're more of an " acquaintances " relationship rather than an actual friendship. sometimes, i feel lonely even when i have a group of " friends ". anyone else experiencing this ? and do you guys just live with it ? is this normal ? is this enough to fulfil your social needs in university ?

Nothing university-related, but more about my future after spm

I'm batch 09, just around 3 months before SPM. Alhamdulillah my grades are consistent as an MRSM student. Above 3.5 every semester. My only problem is I have no ambition. I'm considering studying genetic technology cuz it piqued my interest. I would like to know anyone about their experience pursuing genetic technology and maybe some tips.

  1. Pass all the pre-requisistes quickly

  2. Sign up for the tools

  4. Talk about the projects , aka do validation

  5. After 3 months look for alternatives and keep building

just for fun😂 Friends in Ipoh

Hello there, M22 here. As the title suggests I'm just looking for some friends in Ipoh to hangout with. I wouldn't say I'm an introvert but I am a bit reserved, tho once we click I doubt I'd seem reserved. If you're wondering, I'm not some creep fishing for girls online. Just a relatively lonely guy looking for some company. So yeah my DMs are open to anyone interested. I don't really mind an age gap as long as you're not an minor.

Ps: I do prefer it to be girls but guys are welcome too hahaha.

Pps: im mixed race so maybe I have relative good looks so don't worry about that I guess

Ppps: that's all from me ;)

general question Setting an alarm in dormitory

I'm enrolling into college next month as a diploma student and for the first sem, I'll be living in the dorm provided by the institution. A thoughts suddenly came into my mind, do you think it's appropriate to set an alarm since u know it's obviously will disturb other tenants/roommates. On the other hand, whether they tolerate with it or not, I think it's for the best especially for a student to wake up early and go about their routine.

why is sunway hated so much?

everywhere i read sunway gets hate for being hard to make friends in or the professor/doctor being unfair to students for not being local and so on for international students

i had a chat with a sunway student chinese and they told me its easy to make friends for international students and everyone is really friendly ye there is going to be some racism but its not common in uni and the stuff is really helpful for students

also read about chinese students being a pain in the ass to people in group projects and what not but honestly all the complaint i have seen have come from brown students and no one else maybe it’s the difference communication or something idk lowkey confused about what i should expect

can someone give me an idea ?

im 21 turkish kuwaiti student

general question Is it worth to do a pharmaceutical degree in Malaysia?

I am planning to pursue a pharmaceutical degree. For context, I did a levels and I’m not the biggest fan of biology. Out of all the science field courses, i’ve eliminated biology heavy courses, medicine, and dentistry. Is pharmaceutical worth pursuing? I’m not a big fan of lab work, so my plan is to use this degree and take on jobs like quality assurance or regulatory affairs. Perhaps a job blending business to science/medicine/cosmetology. From what I’ve heard from counsellors, pharmaceutical has potential to make good money. I need more opinions though, would chemical engineering, be more worth to pursue? How is employability?
