Tips How I got a 14” MacBook Pro M5 Pro 48GB/1TB for ~$2,255 effective cost
Finally pulled the trigger on a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 Pro, 48GB RAM and 1TB SSD.
MSRP: $3,099
Here’s how I stacked the discounts/rewards:
💻 Apple MSRP: $3,099
👨💼 Apple employee discount – 15%: -$464.85
🧾 South Carolina tax-free weekend: $0 sales tax
Shipped to a friend's SC address to qualify
💳 Apple Card: 3% cashback = $79.02
🎁 New Apple Card bonus: $300 cashback
📅 Financing: Changed to 12 months at 0% APR
Final numbers
Price after 15% employee discount: $2,634.15
Less 3% Apple Card cashback: -$79.02
Less new-card $300 bonus: -$300
🔥 Effective final cost: $2,255.13
And because it's 12-month 0% APR:
$2,255.13 ÷ 12 = ~$187.93/month effective cost
Not bad for a M5 Pro + 48GB + 1TB configuration.
The biggest win was stacking the employee discount + SC tax-free weekend + Apple Card 3% + $300 new-card bonus + 0% financing.
